Nice! What zone are you located? And can you share what brand concave cutters you’re using? Sounded like crisp cuts!

Thanks! I live in Spokane, WA zone 6. The pruning tools I like to use are TianBonsai brand. I think the concave cutter was around $40 - should be able to find it on Amazon.

Beautiful Maple Tree that oy have-. What do you do if young maple tree that it looks like it did not making any leaves during spring. It's almost the end of April but my young maple that I bought last Fall is dying. What can I do? Thanks

Thanks. I'm not sure where you live but here its early Spring and I don't have leaves on my maples yet. They usually leaf out here in May. If you don't see leaves by summer time it has probably died. Sun, water and good soil is all a plant needs but they have to be in the proper amounts.

Ok I'm sorry to hear about your new tree. I like to plant my trees in a mixture of 2/3 old fir bark, 1/3 new fir bark and some pumice mixed in for good aeration.

Now it looks split in two...
To my taste i would have gone easier on the inwards branches,

I understand what you are saying but sometimes you need to sacrifice the short term appearance for the long term. Eventually the outside branches will cover those spaces and it will look like a whole tree. It will benefit the tree in the long run by not having congestion in the middle.
