  • Six years since I planted these. They have been blooming reliably every spring. I cut the foliage back twice a year. The foliage after bloom time are removed when they turn yellow.
New foliage starts to show in Fall. I leave the alone till early spring. Cutting them back so the blooms can show off better when they arrive.
Plus, the foliage would be messy and blocking other plants around them if left alone. This Spring, the foliage was matted together after the heavy snow fall in January.

It amazing to me how quickly things start to happen leading into Spring.

They are ahead of previous years; because of the mild weather before the big dump of snow mid January. Lucky the flowers stalks were protected!

It’s almost like they’re telling us “It’s go time folks!” Love these little darlings! Thank you❤

Glad the flower stalks were under the messy clumps of foliage. Otherwise they would be frozen and turned mushy now. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Did not know that! Plus buds have neat little white stars on each section that’s so cute💚
