I had full isr exhaust from the headers back , but I had a rattling noise coming from the flex pipes so I got a Z1 y pipe and it did help a lot but you can still kinda hear it , you think just going back to my isr y pipe and cutting the flex pipes will help?
I would go with a dual resonated y pipe like HBP or Thaitanium. The single resonator style like Motordyne, the new z1 y pipe, or circuit Werks, work also but the dual resonators help much more.
So which ones are compatible with AWD? Sorry, you said "the other 2 are compatible" but I'm not sure which ones you were referring to. Thanks in advance.
All 3 in the beginning are compatible with awd. It was the Motordyne at the end that isn’t . My friend had some slight contact issue on the chassis with the ISR, nothing major. Thanks for the support also.
@@KstateKyle , you're welcome. I get notifications when i get a message so I'm pretty good about replying when i can. ISR might be on back order from all the posts i have seen. But it would be the one i would reccomend between that or Megan racing unless budget is the main deciding factor.
@@ProjectPanda13 I'll probably just go with ISR then based on your recommendations. I might just get the isr HFC and the rest of the isr single exit too while I'm at it.
I think if budget is tight, the ISR is great. my friend ha sa bit of fitment issues with this particular one hitting the driver-side chassis. The Megan and HBP cleared everything, no contact. The HBP is worth it to me because the resonators make a huge difference. Thanks for checking my video out. Maybe looking at it two ways might help with your decision. If price is a key factor, ISR is an easy choice. If you want to make sure there is no drone and rasp, HBP for sure. The HBP is nice because of the resonators. But he has a non-resonated y pipe also but I think the ISR would be better because of price.
yea, owner originally had the Megan but the flex pipes were damaged and had them replaced with standard piping. He wanted to upgrade to the ISR and decided to do the same ahead of time. The ISR had a bit of fitment problems where it was touching the chassis on the driverside. So he had to go back to his Megan Racing. He eventually order another y pipe from HBP but resonated and happy with that setup with his SOHO exhaust.
I appreciate the support. ISR made a coupe specific version. Many are still using the 370z and adding extension because it has the larger resonator. I would say check out HBP

Hello I need help over exhaust. If I’m going with isr single exit and longtube headers will I require a y pipe? I’m not really sure how it needs to be done. Anything helps!! Thank you.
It’s best to get a y pipe if you’re upgrading headers and exhaust. If you kept the stock y pipe, that would be your most restricted component since the headers with have a larger outlet diameter and the single exit will have a larger piping diameter. You could do a full ISR setup

Verbally flex pipes are a good thing and important. For any other car, I would recommend keeping the flex pipe like on 240sx, known to crack exhaust manifolds For our the G and Z platform, it seems there enough give somewhere, maybe the hangers or the the mounts (when in good condition) do a good job maintain movement, but there aren’t many cases of cracked exhaust components. Some major brands also make full solid exhaust without flex pipes for our platform like Stillen, Fast Intentions, and Z1. But if the car is slammed and the exhaust hits objects or speed bumps a lot, I would suggest keeping the flex pipe
