I never do grocery stores where regional until I was in high school. I moved from New Hampshire where we shop at Hannaford, sometimes Shaws, and hardly ever market basket. When I got to California all it had in Bakersfield was Vons and Ralphs, they basically are all the same to me unless they are the gross price right and all the type stores that don't give you bags and don't have delis and make you pay for cards, I'll pay an extra couple cents for my produce and go to Hannaford thanks.

You are correct about Heinen's great service & the vast offerings of in store made foods. We live about 3 hours from Cleveland & when we go there for a weekend to see shows in the theater district, try new restaurants, etc., we always take coolers & stop at one of the Heinen's 19 metro stores (they also have 4 in Illinois) to stock up on great tasting foods.

I actually prefer to grocery shop at Target and Walmart now instead of Meijer. Since the pandemic was declared ended, they've made major changes to their sales that are NOT customer friendly. They seem to be focused on their investors making a ton of money by forcing us to by crazy amounts of multiple products in order to get them on sale. Also a Huge hassle is having to go online to 'clip'' coupons to get a few cents off of products. Too much time and aggravation to shop there now.
