  • This week we were back at our property in Kentucky. We are just starting to figure out what all we need to do. We are working on cleaning the property up a little and mapping the upcoming builds. We think we have settled on where all of the buildings will go. It will still be a few years until we can build but the planning starts now. We have to establish our budget and get the excavation started. We are definitely looking forward to it and can't wait to share the process with you.

I understand the importance of getting a perc test done first. But honestly I'm not worried about it for several reasons. What we paid was worth it even if it was just hunting land. Also, with 14 acres and numerous building sites, we have options. There are numerous houses on the adjacent properties so we know the soils in the area are good. And with modern septic systems there are several options even if there are issues with perc tests. I'm with you though, if I was talking to anyone else who was looking at land I'd recommend the perc test first. It's one of those do as a say, not as I do things.
