That boat is not what you'd call "state of the art" for catamarans but you guys didn't let that stop you from having a great adventure. BRAVO to the whole bunch of you!
So right, Walter. Well said. But do beware of the Wharram's secret speed. Most owners could care less about performance, but our Tiki 30 would consistently spank the local X-Boat and a whole fleet of J-8s who were not amused. Yes, I'm a long-retired racer, but old habits die hard, and that gaff rig is really a highly effective soft wing-sail.
Great video, thank you for posting. I'm just in the research stage for a Tiki 38, started a Tiki 26 many years ago, for this kind of dream, and now I want to continue that dream. As far as I can tell, you didn't seem to make many changes from the plans ? I hope to make the same passage one day ! BTW, from the video, it seems to be true what I've read, if you smoke, you smoke a lot on passage, lol !
Hey Jacques the cool thing about jerks like noelligh is that there jealousy actually makes you look better. I guess there is a positive side to the green eyed monster after all. Have you checked out his inviting station photo ?

Thanks all. Although it was in 2011, i still have vivid memories of this adventure. I kept the boat which is sailing in the marseille area.
