Indian cars may be cheap but they never compromise with quality.
Actually the opposite. Plagued w issues ,Elec /mech & costs more in india than what an equivalent toyota costs in japan
@@rubbersidedown7992 bro u are wrong
@@rubbersidedown7992 bro get back to the Earth. I think you are writing this comment sitting at Mars.
@@rubbersidedown7992 try this car bro . Reliable Mahindra already prove it off course you can't compare with Toyota

What’s being referred to as a plastic tailgate is technically known as a thermoplastic or composite tailgate, which is a glass-filled plastic polymer. This material is essentially what car bumpers are made of. Some examples of cars that use thermoplastic tailgates are the Range Rover Velar, Land Rover Discovery, Volvo XC60, Jaguar F-Pace
Renault used it first in mid 1980's on every body panel of the Renault Espace 8 seat mpv.
Thank you!
In India couple of cars crashed from back had their tailgates intact which proved it's durable and cleared everyone's misconceptions about the quality.
@@raydavies3278 well you have good car knowledge
Yes type of plastic used in Discovery and volvo
It's a fantastic vehicle. From safety point of view , it scored 5 ⭐ in GNCAP crash test .
India's own brand like TATA and Mahindra gets highest NCAP Safety Ratings through all the models. No compromise with quality
Global ncap is not acceptable in Australia
@@abrahamphilip9337 oh, still that's one thing, im just saying that safety ratings are high
Tata has a long way to go in terms of performance and refinement and also reliability
It's 5 star rated in safety
I have a few corrections to suggest in this review ( I own a XUV 700)
1. The memory for seat adjustment. --> It works with a single click of the button if done before switching the car on. Once Car is turned on, it requires long press.
2. FRP material(is very strong) is used for tail gate door, which is quite common in high end German cars like BMW as well.
3. The Automatic engine on/off on complete stop of car is actually quite intelligent. It doesn't switch off the engine if there are immediate consecutive stops(as in very tight bumper to bumper slow moving traffic) in very short distance. That is why it doesn't turn the engine on during the when you try to disable the feature when engine is in off state. But i agree this could have been better.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the thorough feedback and info.
In other parts of world, people have been hypergroomed by media and companies that expensive means good and cheap means poor. It is not the case actually. In India, we call cheap as cost effective and cheap products can still be great quality.
Please don’t compare the Indian use of the word cheap with that of US or Australia. There the cheap doesn’t mean negative or poor in quality. It’s just the cheap price
That's a very good point
Great review. These are now just hitting our shores in Australia 🇦🇺. We only get diesel variants , but that's not a bad thing as the diesel is Euro 6 compliant & pretty refined , & yep the quality overall is very , very good. The Mahindra Scorpio N has been here about 6 wks & is getting great reviews locally. So its a definite GO & BUY either one from me. Apart from a lack of some safety gear here in Australia, it shouldn't deter prospective buyers.
Xuv 700 also got the ADAS 2 features with emergency braking....may be a good deal for you.
@@gogoboi7696 I gather it's possibly only the Scorpio N in Australia missing some gear like AEB etc initially . Mahindra Aust are addressing it . The 700 should have everything, nothing missing from our vehicles
I am little bit sceptical about it (AEB in scorpio N) .....Is AEB mandatory to comply in Australian NCAP ratings? Bcs both the vehicles are Globally NCAP 5 star rated car i guess....hope you will get every single feature you asked for.
@@gogoboi7696 NCAP isn't as stringent as the Australian ANCAP . We have some of the strictest requirements in the world for vehicle safety along with Europe. Yes AEB is part of new ANCAP requirements . The Scorpio N scraped in here just before the new regs were mandated
@@Coastmac2001 assistive features are usually very interfering and were better off without them
Here in India
It has 182 bhp of power on diesel engine and 450 Nm torque.
Why is it under powered there?
I have driven it
It's phenomenal suv.
It is a great SUV! So this was the petrol version.
@@GregDennisReviews In India petrol model is more powerful its 198 bhp and 380NM of torque
@@i.anshulsharma he said 145 KW (kilo watt) not 145 bhp….
So 145 KW is equal to 198 bhp…
Who said it is underpowered in Australia…?
Dude Indian cars dont have poor quality, they are Indian not Chinese, Indian companies never compromise with build quality and Safety, its as good as any Japanese ot European brand.
It’s great built quality. Hopefully that misconception starts to change.
lol shut up this car won't even come close to Germans and other companies and looks ugly af even Chinese cars like BYD is in another leagues in car making
@@GregDennisReviewsAlmost all geniune Indian cars has more than 4 stars in safety, remember Suzuki is not an Indian brand it's Japanese.

Dealers in Australia are not going to sell a product at a third of the price they usually demand! They won't be sold here!
Actually, the Mahindra XUV700 will be here in Australia next month!

Never say that again
Indian brands tata and mahindra have all of their cars 5 star rated which were launched in recent 5-6 years

It's great build quality, i was saying that's what people think when they hear about it. My video was to showcase how good it is.
@@GregDennisReviews yeah 🤍🤍
I use a BMW which also have memory function for seats and also operate the same way of holding until the position is fully set
It’s the first time I’ve experienced this. Not the end of the world.
Designed in chennai nice one from mahindra barath.
I'm busy driving the Scorpio N now and it;s clear to see how more luxurious and suburban the XUV700 was. Nice one @mahindrasouthafricaofficia9488
Which of the 2 vehicles would you recommend if going for a 4X2 option family vehicle. The scorpio N seems like a much stronger build quality?
Mahindra XUV 700 manual transmission is more engaging then the automatic.
I can definitely image a manual being more engaging.
It achieved an impressive 5-star rating for adult occupant protection and 4 stars for child occupant protection in the Global NCAP crash test.
Rear door is made of FRP which is quite expensive when compared to steel....
Its a crossover not a sports car.... Why these car reviewers want a practical car to be less expensive but with Ferrari Performance
It’s an SUV, in the category here there are a lot of other more powerful rivals. Will never expect Ferrari performance. This is a great SUV
Typical Stereotype Westerner, You people Won't Digest Development Of India.
Before saying Made of a Plastic, you should have used a Common Sense, That is Not a Plastic, that is Different High Agile, High Quality Carbon Fiber that Also Used By All Well Known, Well Reputed Company Like Range Rover, Land Rover, Volvo, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes, etc etc etc
Exactly
I don’t think it is carbon fibre.. that’s way too expensive. but it is an advanced type of plastic material
Its glass coated advanced plastic. Thermo plastic.
But certainly not of plastic. Its stronger than steel.
Can u mention any car brands from SOUTH AFRICA in the international market???
Indian cars are Cheap and reliable it won't disappoints You 👌
This car has auto - adjusting headlights. Not an out of the World feature. But, its cool to have at this price point. So, it will enable a higher beam when you are driving at night and crossing 80kmph mark. It will automatically lower the beam if a car comes driving towards you in a narrow lane.
Also, this car has ADAS.
I have this car, diesel AT AX7L.
Amazing, and how are you enjoying it?
Indian car help in recession in europe it cheap and realiable . Good quality than Chinese car
Greetings from Kenya.
Good car
Hey! Thanks for watching!
You forgot to mention the ADAS!

The insides were well reviewed. That camera rear turning display was nifty, wish our road trains have them.
Good review mate 🇮🇳 🇿🇦
Thank you!
The most important thing is its road presence, wherein xuv700 is way above from all of its rivals
Rivals are Nissan x trail , Mitsubishi outlander. They even have great road presence
It does look good on the road from the front, with those lights
Let's collab and work on something together 🤝🏾
Disappointing that you have to buy the 7 seater before you can get leather seats and any camera.
Well i guess thats how the brand makes its money
You missed on ADAS feature
Next time!
indian cars and badly built?? that are 2 opposites
You don't get Diesel over there?
We only have petrol versions in South Africa. Scorpio N is diesel here only.
this gear box is sourced from Mercedes oem manufacturer Aisin.
0:09 typical westerners, they cant handle India's success 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He is South African
India's success?? Dude, you're delusional. Most Indian companies prioritise on cutting costs as much as possible and making cheap product, hence why Indian products rarely do well abroad. Also tastes in design are very different in West and India. Indian design looks very cheap, low quality and tacky. In India maybe the old Scorpio was a desirable car but most Westerners wouldn't be seen dead in it. Very dated interior and exterior and lacking in features.

Built a great car!
Tata should also launch their new cars to african countries

That misconception is changing for the better
Because it was bad in past…. Now only Indian brands are going overseas with improve quality …. Also type of buyer and consumer in different countries are different… respect is always have to be earned … I think Indian brands will earn the respect…

Mahindra and Chinese manufacturers r 100% same , they looks great but perform worst . 7 people died on Spot when Scorpio N , turned turtle , it's roof collapsed like bread. We in India don't care about leather covered seats..many of us don't like to sit on some stupid animal skin.
