Thanks for this -- this is a color category I love, even though I dislike hot pinks and bright pinks. My collection also includes Robert Oster Australis Rose, which is closer to true pink but still has that dusty, vintage feel. As for your custom mixes, I like both and would be tempted to try something in between. For your viewers: Guide sheets to put under blank paper are available from The Well Appointed Desk in the U.S., and she also offers free downloads if you want to print your own (although I prefer the heavy card stock). Finally, thanks for the shout out! I have accidentally knocked over enough sample vials to appreciate the tape dispenser trick.
Thanks Marilyn! I am similar to you - hot pinks are not for me. I do have Australis Rose in one of my carts to try! And for the mixes - I want to find a lighter more diluted version so I will keep trying! And thanks for the tip on the guide sheets!
Not me over here looking up all the dusty pink inks! I love the circles, the more imperfect the better! The excitement in your voice is just so fun-- you know what the ink looks like and yet you love them so much it is as if you are seeing them for the first time, your excitement is infectious! I'm so happy the Yurameku ink made an appearance, they are so wonderful. Both the custom inks are so lovely, it is hard to choose between them. Super fun video, Karyna!
Dusty pink has become such an interesting category.... When considering the color spectrum there's a clear spot where pinks fall (somewhere between red and violet) and where coral falls (somewhere between red and orange). But you see a lot of muted pinks AND corals get categorized into the dusty pink genre so many of us have come to love and adore. Honestly, I think both these hues shine so well under this label. Even if some of the colors are little more on the corally/orange side; I feel like it's fiiiiiiine haha We all know what we mean when we call 'em "dusty pink". It's less about the accuracy of the "pink", and more about the VIBE✨ + softness in the blush tone☺
I actually just got a sample of Troublemaker Freedom Park Rose and thought of you! It’s the only dusty pink I’ve tried and I really enjoy it in my Estie Candy with swapped Broad nib!❤
OMG, using a tape dispenser to hold a vial is amazing! ❤ thank you! These are exactly the shades of colors I‘ve been looking into on „Mountain of Ink“. They remind me of blossoming Japanese cherry trees. Thanks for swatching them for us. I‘ll be ordering samples and bottles today 🌸🌸🌸!
Love your inksplorations - so calming. Also a big fan of the circles, especially when they're blob-like. Seems to fit ink better than perfect circles, y'know?
@@KarynaLovesToPlanThis was so good I decided to have some fun with my new inks and create two pinks of my own yesterday afternoon. I wouldn't be surprised if they become two of my favorite inks. Thanks for the inspiration!
Welcome to the circle swatch club! ⭕️ In my mind Liane is our queen! Mine are a bit more like yours- everyone a bit different but you can tell they are all related. I’m loving the ‘organicness’ of it!
I think my fave is the 1:1 Pilot combo then the Teranishi Opera Rose. If it’s too dusty a colour then I find it hard to see the words I write with the pen.
Oh my goodness!! the 2:1 looks so much like Opera Rose. So beautiful. I am impatiently waiting for my brunch date and some others to arrive. The two mixes are stunning. I love them both. More inkploration please 😁
Thank you for these mixes! I have kosumosu and ina ho and was a little stressed out by that bright pink colour(I have the large bottle). Now I know what to do with it!
I am so envious you have a bottle of Ina Ho. I waited too long when I heard it was being discontinued. If you would like to try Robert Oster Dusky Pink, let me know. I’d be happy to send you some.
Robert Oster makes a "Dusky Pink". Is it "Dusty" or "Dusky"? Are they both one and the same? I'm not a huge fan of pink inks, but the hue of pink that I do love, resemble Diamine + Cult Pen's, "Jug of Sangria". I LOVE that color, but I'm not sure if it's a pink / lavender / lilac color? In your opinion, does lilac lean more towards purple or can lilac also be warm and look pinkish? My favorite pink, that I'm picturing in my mind's eye, would definitely lean more towards a muted pink, but also contain a hint of lavender. Would that be Dusty/Dusky pink, lilac or warm lavender? What's your opinion? I really wish "Jug of Sangria" wasn't so dry and hard to read because I really love the look of that color! I am drawn to muted colored inks, but my favorite color is red (not in inks). Go figure....🤷🏻♀
@@KarynaLovesToPlan Thank you! I never know how to describe the pink color that I like (and see in my mind's eye) to other people. I never know whether it would fall under the purple or the pink category. I think the color that I'm imagining, lies somewhere in-between? IDK. I am drawn to many of the colors of ink that you gravitate toward too. I love muted shade! I'm so glad that you no longer feel "meh" about browns inks! 😉 P.S. Jug of Sangria (Diamine + Cult Pens) is like a less-saturated version of Sailor's Yozakura, but Sangria is a little on the dry side.
I like the 2-1 I think it looks closer than the other but I also like that top right one its really nice ..I have accidentally put the wrong ink from a pen into an inkvile I mixed Pilot iroshizuku Yama Budo and Califolio Andirinople and I call it Yamabudoandrinople and its beautiful ... I love experimentation especially putting shimmer in inks that dont have shimmer I need to go to the store and buy more different colors of shimmer I have an ink that wi like but it doesnt have that much shimmer and I need to buy the color of shimmer I use hobby lobby food grade luster dust which is ment to go on cakes but if its safe enough to eat its safe enough to go in my pens and it cleans out really good :)
I love that ink name! I tried Pelikan Golden Beryl with a blue (cannot remember which) and it came out a beautiful shimmery green. Experimenting is so fun!
Out of curiosity, does anyone know a good dupe for FWP’s lady rose that is less dry? Lady rose is so dry it hardly writes in my pen and I only have one pen
If you really like the colour of FWP Lady Rose, I would recommend getting Vanness White Lightning. Adding the tiniest drop of that to a very dry ink can help it flow!
Thanks for this -- this is a color category I love, even though I dislike hot pinks and bright pinks. Yes - I love that! Dusty pink as a vibe because there can be such variation within the category!
Ooohh!! This is perfect timing…I have been looking for this specific fountain ink hue. TYFS!❣️✨

Glad it was helpful!!
Loved this exploration video.
Would love to see an ink exploration with any blues/teals you have
I have a lot of blues - definitely one I want to work on!
I love the combos.
Thank you!
I love the experimentation and can’t believe the results of mixing ina ho and kosumosu together! I like both the 1:1 and 2:1 ratios…
Thanks Liane! I want to find a slightly lighter version of both - I am going to keep working on it!
I love the idea of mixing different ratios of Pilot Iroshizuku. Now I'm curious what kind of purples I can get out of my kon-peki and tsutsuji
Oooh.... great idea!
Love your inksplorations - so calming. Also a big fan of the circles, especially when they're blob-like. Seems to fit ink better than perfect circles, y'know?
Thanks Lene! I do like the blobs. 😂
I love a dusty rose. Robert oyster has one -can’t recall the name- that I adore and was my gateway drug
So fun! The first two were my favorites
They are so good, aren’t they?

Yay! Hope this was helpful!

You are right - such a delicate colour but it has to be the right shade to be legible.

Yay! Thanks for watching, Priscilla! Need to figure out my next experiment!
Love this ink exploration video.Question where is the pinkish clip from? It’s soo cute😊
It was from a Cult Pens order!
Thank you
I love the new format. How pretty 😊.
Thanks Kathleen! 🥰
That 1:1 combination of kosumosu and inaho is really beautiful. I’m having a hard time thinking of an ink similar to it. 🥰
Hi 😊. Love that 2:1 combo. Congratulations 🎉
Thank you!
I'd like to get a dusty rose or two so this has been very helpful. And how brilliant to combine the kosumosu and the in a ho!
Glad this was helpful!
I don’t have a lot of inks but I have Robert Oster Rose Gold Antiqua that I love. It does lean a little more pink but that one is also beautiful.
I have tried that one and finished the sample and loved it! That is a good one!
I love this ink. I have to try it in a different pen/nib cuz it clogged the one I was using but I absolutely loved this ink.
Thank you for these mixes! I have kosumosu and ina ho and was a little stressed out by that bright pink colour(I have the large bottle). Now I know what to do with it!
Yay! Glad this gave you some ideas!
I'm so curious what it would look like if you mixed Kitsune Biyore with pink or red to get it closer to the pink side!
I tried it with Ink Studio 237 and because of all the chromoshading, it turned out a bit weird!
I definitely want to try the J Herbin. And can I go on the pre-order mailing list for KarynaLovesToPlan Inks!
Aww, thank you! I've got the one right now 😊 - we'll see what else I try!
I am so envious you have a bottle of Ina Ho. I waited too long when I heard it was being discontinued. If you would like to try Robert Oster Dusky Pink, let me know. I’d be happy to send you some.

I believe it is Dusky Pink from Robert Oster. I have not studied colour theory and I have not tried Jug of Sangria so I am not sure.
