- A cover of "Sunrise", slower track from the Revolution EP B Side. Quite a simple track but great feel from the guitars and Mark Brezeziki's drums.
I'm using 2 Boss GT6's on this, spliit signal into one with a Distortion setting and the other with a clean flanger sound. Lots of delay panning so you hear the repeat guitar left and right.
Added a bit of distorton and melodic solo in the middle as there's no singing on the track.
Starts in E and moves that shape up 2 frets (F sharp) then the chorus is E to D to B to C.

I listened to this sooo much waiting for the follow-up to Love to come out. Not a fan of Electric, but Sonic Temple was a nice mix of the straight-ahead rock of Electric and the more psychedelic stuff like this and Love.
I know what you mean, i'd heard some of the pre Electric tracks (Manor sessions/Peace versions) on a live bootleg so got a shock with Electric but I liked the rawness and it grew on me. Almost needed to meet in the middle, like you say Sonic Temple was just that - with American Horse and Sun King. The River B Side was ace also

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again - you pick such great songs to cover. I always loved this one and I think it should have been more than a b-side or extra track. If anyone doesn’t know it, listen to the original with Ian’s incredibly interesting vocal.
Cheers Chris, there were some great B Sides around that time - in fact, The Cult always seemed to have great B-Sides - Judith, Little Face, Zap City, Red Jesus, The River, Sea And Sky, Conquistador etc.

Love this song and your rendition of it. There's a lot of really great deep cuts like this one in their catalog! Interesting...I've not seen anyone split the signal into 2 GT6s like that. Stupid question, but you use a Lehle signal splitter or something like that between the guitar and the two units?
Thanks mate, I might do a short vid on my recording technique. Its really basic, i have a guitar lead that splits to 2, that goes into both Gt6's then the output from those were going into an old 4 track mixer ....the power adapter of that broke this week ...so I found an old jack that has 2 inputs, this is now going into the Behringher interface which then usb's into the laptop to record. The signal is panned across 4 channels for the guitar to get the stereo spread.

So many Cult tracks. Rain, She Sells Sanctuary and then the early stuff. Tried any Cradle of Filth yet Austin? Nymphetamine is one of my go-to tracks. Maybe Jesus and Mary Chain, and you know I like anything off First and Last and Always. Have a good weekend mate
Cheers Gary, still working on a Sisters cover and remix, was going to do Some Kind Of Stranger also. Not tried Cradle Of Filth yet, so many tracks still to do mate! Was going to do April Skies by the Mary Chain at some point, used to cover Never Understand in a band way back in the day
@@AlternativeGuitars IMO First and Last and Always was probably their best album. So many good tracks and where a lot of my recommendations come from. Driven Like the Snow, Amphetamine Logic and so on. Excellent period for goth music and while I have found a few really good bands since the sound is not quite the same.
Wasn't Resurrection Joe on this EP?
Rez Joe was a stand alone single (one of my fave all time Cult tunes) - the one before She Sells Sanctuary, this EP had Revolution, All Souls Avenue, Sunrise and Judith
@@AlternativeGuitars Ah, that's right. I couldn't remember the timing of the release for Resurrection Joe. I liked this EP better than I liked Electric. I kinda wish they hadn't scrapped these tunes for the Love follow-up.
