After many years of trying to understand this hate wagon in general, I just stopped and came to the conclusion that I absolutely hate all fandoms. I was starting to feel kinda bad for the people involved in this production because no one sets out to make a bad series but after the way they treat the guy at 10:45 I reckon all bets are off. Even if it's a set up the message sent out by their response is pretty awful.
Amazon's/Jeff Bezos' approach to Tolkien's masterpiece of fantasy was to hire people who had no real love or knowledge of the Middle Earth lore or canon, glom together pieces of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and the Appendices ignoring timelines and storylines, add made up characters that have no place in the tale and throw a billion dollars worth of CGI at it hoping no one would notice. When everyone who knew anything about Middle Earth noticed, the untalented, PC and woke cast and crew went on the offensive deflecting the justified criticism by attacking the fan base as racist, sexist and bigoted. This was the second clear sign that this project was an abject failure by any standard applied, the first being their own admission that their aim was to "modernize" the tale to appeal to a new audience. In true Hollywood fashion the directors put all of their political baggage and wokeness into a tale about a fantasy pre-history of England that was created by a scholar who devoted a lifetime to develop it in detail greater than any other work of fiction that existed before and certainly since. It was a disastrous formula from the first day. Add to that the bad casting, high school drama club level writing and dialogue, horribly bad editing, confusing timeline compression, complete mish-mash of character development and utter disregard for the canon and lore and you end up with a show that has cutting edge CGI.......and nothing else worthy of mention. They would have been better off making this series 100% CGI and saving three quarters of a billion dollars. TROP is absolute garbage from the first episode. It is not a show that immerses you into the fantasy world of Middle Earth because the characters are so uninspiring and the pace of the story is boring to the point where you simply don't care what's happening you just want it to keep moving in the hope that something good might be coming. So far that has not been the case and we're almost to the end of the first season. This is a clear case of a rich guy thinking his money makes him as much of a literary genius as the true literary genius of Tolkien made Middle Earth. TROP is Bezos' ego on full display destroying the greatest fictional literary work of the 20th century through his complete lack of understanding and love for the tales. The "ner do wells" he hired to help him destroy this masterpiece are all too eager to take his money, stroke his ego and produce a show that has been universally panned by the diehard Tolkien fan base. The reviews have been edited by sites like Rotten Tomatoes to "adjust the numbers" in favor of the show but cannot explain the cavernous gap between their "Tomatometer" rating of 84% (383 critics) and the audience score of 38% (30,393 users). Rotten Tomatoes, and their critic ilk, have lost all credibility here. They have shown themselves to be little more than Amazon shills. In summation, Bezos and his bone-top production cast and crew are a fine example of how money ruins everything it touches. Having money does not make you smarter, more talented or right. It just makes you a more visible asshat. They need to cut their losses and do something far less challenging, more in line with their collective lack of talent like commercials for Wendy's hamburgers or something.
I... so the armour Galadriel wears is not her armour but a gift from someone else? What? I mean, let's disregard for a moment the fact that Galadriel doesn't wear armour in the books and would never wear armour, because she's not a tank or a warrior, but why would she wear armour, even if it's a gift, if it bears the crest of Fëanor? They're feuding! It doesn't make sense! Colbert knows this, he's read the Silmarillion enough times, yet here he is defending it anyway.
They're probably doing a "Fingon and Maedhros" type of thing to fix the division between the two houses. That's the only reason I can think of that would make sense.
Have a lot of hope for the show, a lot more excited about it however i still think the design of the elven armor is lame compared to the movies, i mean the helmets alone are such a disappointment :(
It's a five series, 50 hour story. Obviously they aren't going to show everything in the first trailer. The simple answer is that the Rings don't get forged until the 2nd season, so there's no need for Celeborn just yet.
@@merickurt753 Yes, that's true. And I'm sure he will be her husband in the show as well. They just want to be dramatic and show it... Which they will likely stuff up like most everything else.

It’s clear to everyone that it’s the latter. Next time, think about the biases you yourself hold before painting everyone into a box. It’s you therefore who is the true racist.
is it just me that thinks the actor for Gil-Galad would be absolutely perfect casting for Elendil aswell?
I missed the name announcement & totally thought it was mark ferguson for a moment
We needed more castings like him, but im happy with the choise of elendil
Omg Galadriel and Durin are both welsh 😍😍😍. I love this show already 10x more than before I watched these panels.
How can you dare say you are weaving the way for the next generation? You are not a Tolkien professional, you are not a professor and for you to think so much of yourself as a dwarrowdam that does not even exist in the lore of the author. You think too highly of yourself queen of dwarves. The directors and writers should be ashamed of themselves and a lot of you should have read the books and be respectful of the lifetime creation of professor Tolkien. All of the beautiful characters we knew, you have changed and made them into fake clones. How did Galadriel put all of those helmets into a mountain? So stupid, and you think the dire fans will not band the show, they will, we will. Accessible, every voices....sigh...Have you seen the hobbit movie, they had female dwarves, you are nothing special.
People needs to stop hating on this show before ever watching the first fnk episode!! 🤦♂️ let the show play, if it’s good-great! If not then it sucks. I bet the show will be right in the middle.
The hate is getting comical and pathetic at this point
It's pretty weird driven by the like of Nerdrotic, G&G etc. If the show turns out to be a turd then fair enough, but so far it's all about there being a coloured Elf and dwarf. The show could be well acted and produced with great stories but it wouldn't matter ...
@@vincevirtua true. youtubers like Nerdrotic are nothing but unhelpful and toxic to the nerd community and brings no good
After many years of trying to understand this hate wagon in general, I just stopped and came to the conclusion that I absolutely hate all fandoms. All of them have toxic and self righteous people that just pour out to others their insecurities and a need to complain endlessly. I love LOTR and Tolkien' world, I hate Tolkien fandom. I love ASOIAF and GOT, but I hate their fandom. I love Star Wars, I hate their fandom. I love Star Trek, I hate their fandom. That's one of the many reason why I do not have social media accounts, besides youtube - because I just want to shut out the absolute hate and bitterness of small and self righteous people from my life. I never needed anyone to tell me if something is good or not. I am the master of my own judgement and nothing anyone will say, can deter that.
@@andreim.5324 actually you only hear about the toxicity because they are the loudest but there is some lovely people in almost every fandoms who care and thinks just like you do you just need to find them ;)
I loved the part when Sauron started saying his palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms heavy, then threw up Morgoth's spaghetti all over his sweater. 13/10 these writers and actors are truly writing the novel Tolkien never could have as the mega-event series that could only happen today. Really embodies what the world really looks like, so many goosebumps.
I got emotional at that part. Then an elf of color passed by and gave the spaghetti to a less fortunate community, the Haradrim, trying to fight hunger and white supremacy.
Yawn. Be more original.
They've already said that that wasn't Sauron. It's a member of the Cult of Melkor.

quick question, why is the character named Kemen? I'm sure that means "earth" in quenya.
It means strong in English
The Rings of Power’s main characters should’ve been Celebrimbor, the 19 ring bearers, and Sauron. It would’ve been interesting if we meet the nine kings before their transformation into the Nazgul.
The 19 ring bearers originally or the ring bearers after the war of elves and Sauron? Two different groups of people

I really don’t understand why some people are so obsessed with diversity and inclusion forced in. The point is to be immersed in the story not reminded of the real world. If diversity makes sense like brown people in Harad that’s GREAT but to make certain races diverse where it doesn’t makes sense it breaks immersion. Imagine watching Aladdin with a white cast that would be stupid because it doesn’t make sense…

@@ClaytonStone895 how can someone with the name Tolkien Fanatic even type that sentence onto their screen? Tolkien’s world is almost sacred it’s like a beautiful animal or plant that should be taken care of carefully. When 2022 politics injects itself into a timeless tale it removes people from that tale because they are being reminded about 2022 politics and that does a disservice to Tolkien. A black dwarf makes 0.000% sense they live under a mountain out of the sun…that’s woke injection. Now a black Haradrim or settler from Khand makes perfect sense because it’s a desert region and I would love to see that. But this woke shit is what is ruining lots of movies. Now the new character Bronwynn from the South I love that they are exploring that region and I love the look of her. My brother is black and I am hispanic so please remind me again how I have a TRUE problem with diversity. The woke mob wants inclusion EVERYWHERE when that actually makes things worse. Human nature is tribal and we flock to those that look/act like us. A black dwarf and a black elf and making Galadriel a warrior princess is 1000% pandering and you know it.
