Do wish the Americans, Canadians and any other NON Brit would quit judging us cause of how we cope in snow and ice. The majority of American states and most of Canada (and other countries) have large amounts of snow EVERY year, therefore you can cope with it better. Here in the UK, we don't. It's every 5-7 years we see major snowfalls like this, even then it is unpredictable.
I long hauled for over 20 years. Christmas time was awful for us. The only time the truck was allowed to stop was chain control and byway closure’s. I was a team
I Love How nowadays so much as an inch of snow on the line and train stop however back in the 80s and earlier trains used to carry on running no matter what the snow conditions all bit slightly reduced and may be mildly delayed but never used to have the issues we have nowadays ridiculous how this country over react to tiny bit of snow the amount of snow we get at any given time is probably no different to a typical Canadian snowfall and a single day day and they carry on regardless it just amazes me how we get so much bad weather be yet we don't invest in it because we keep playing it down like all this is a freak weather storm or it's an unusual storm or whatever big yet it's not it happens quite regularly and has been happening quite ready for the last 13 years of not more more than anything the severity of the weather we have over last 20 years is less than what it was back in the 60s 70s 80s so if anything we should be finding it easier to cope not harder
But in the 80s Knowone had common sense and when the trains went to stop they just slid to a stop, nowadays we have trains that were built to last, it's just weather forecasts arnt telling the truth so railways are unprepared for snow.
Its the UK though init. Over here we never cope well with the weather extremes. Hot - the country goes to a standstill and cold the country also comes to a standstill
Here in England we rarely get extreme weather. We can deal with heavy rain and wind but when it comes to snowy weather we're not use to it. To be fair for England that was our worst winter weather 😅
i grew up watching this its sad that the company could go bankrupt and that they aren't filming with them anymore if i wanna watch episode i just google them
If your truck is empty Y lift axle is down /reporter said V6 in Scania I think they have got it wrong /do some roping and sheeting in the snow she would cry
a) If stobarts drivers did more than 20mph they'd get more done in a day b) make same/next day delivery for consumer goods illegal and watch efficiency skyrocket
Why do the shots of loaded trucks show the unit's tag axle lifted but when the empty artic gets stuck on the off slip the tag axle is down? And in slippery condition drive in manual!
As soon as it snows all HVGs should be taken off the road. Cars and smaller vehicles can always pass. But HVGs are selfish and instead want to block all of the roads and delay everyone else.
With how little snow lasts and sits it's not actually worth it. We probably get about 2 or 3 inches of snow over half a decade. This was one snow that was extremely bad for us which most other countries would call your average Tuesday.
Yes, in America we mainly use conventional tractors, so the I6 is the norm. In England and Europe the cabover is preferred, so that the truck's cab floor is flat and low as possible for the driver, a V8 or V6 is preferred since they are shorter than the I6.
I agree with Bradley Perry. Im old enough to have lived through the sixties, and we had harder winters and as much or more snowfall then. They want to play everything up as "global warming" or whatever, and its just making wusses out of the younger set. Sad and inaccurate! Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
Haven't they ever heard of snow chains??????? Don't they make their trucks with pull points to the front frame of trucks?? Real ice road trucking my A$$, wouldn't make a day doing the real deal.
That girl didn t got stuck becouse of that, she got stuck becouse she didn t have any common sense and experience. I know that slip road very well and i will never try to go that way if it's very cold and snowy, but anyway, that wasn t the big issue, let's say that she didn t knew the road... I think she got stuck becouse of the mid lift, her truck was empty at that time and her mid lift was down. Trust me when i say this, whit that mid lift down you loose traction if you are empty when is just wet ...
I don't think they know what they are let alone how to use them. Never seen anyone on the other side of the pond using them, not even for passenger vehicles.
Theres pretty much no point with snow chains as it would be a wasted investment for the company other than for a few days a year at most and this would be only for a few drivers
Driver Mark should remove that Confederate flag from his cab. It has been outlawed in America recently because it is a sign of approval of slavery in the USA. Change it for your favorite football club.
Love looking at these Videos of Eddie Stobart.
Delia Fernandez it’s amazing how far they’ve fallen

Respect to all truck drivers I was one and know the stress and pressure and long hours 🍀
Wow these guys & girls deserve medals driving in that weather - wonderful. Travel safely always. ❤️ from South Africa 🇿🇦
This is nothing, go look at my country, canada. we get 10 times or more that amount of snow in one snowfall
As someone who lived in the Snowbelt of NY I cannot believe how the heck they cleared and salted that depot.
I know what you mean, I live in Edmonton Alberta,..and these conditions are a joke,.....
Thank you Guys and Gals at Eddie Stobart's
These driver work so hard.
Yes
It doesn’t even look that bad. Canadian drivers go through much worse.
Trucking is not easy

Best advice from a Canadian truck driver, just carry a bag of salt in winter ,and a small shovel
That mark was such a ponce.
Hello! We brits do not need a show about the pure *_intensity_* of delivery driving
@Demboys Wizala It's pretty funny
Watching the english cope with a few centremetres of snow is basically comedy
Well it’s not their fault they are skidding, they can’t control the wheels skidding on ice. Smh.🤦♂️
Makes me laugh that in certain parts if America, california for example, can't drive in heavt rain, high winds or fog.
@@Fcutdlady you got a point to be fair

Quite funny when Mark Dixon is stuck
does mark dixon still drive 4 stobarts ???????
So I'm guessing stobart is the "Swift" of the UK
10.32 (timeframe) its like da ja vu

Definitely not
They have more accidents then any other company. 😂

Why is she trying to drive up a snowy hill with her midlift down in an empty trailer?! Lift the midlift loaded or not and she’d get up
Midlift shouldn’t be a thing. But it makes sense anyways
Curtis Noble why not?
RT 87 we usually have 3 axles on the trailer. You guys only have 2 in the first place
Yes,my opinion is also...lift as much possible axles with that kind of weather, the more traction on your drive axle!
Cmon, pusher trucks (with front boogie axle) have no advantage in snow. They've should have used trucks with boogie axle in back.
8:50 (again different) 12:17 27:08 btw the soundtrack for all if these fact file tidbits is called "tom quick- paranoia"

Why do the shots of loaded trucks show the unit's tag axle lifted but when the empty artic gets stuck on the off slip the tag axle is down?

Because theres a switch you can use to manually engage the tag axle if you need to
