Finally! Was watching this concert live but missed this part. Also, who ever female vocalist they brought on stage.. never get her again. She was awful and ruined two amazing songs.
I was there too, how did you manage to miss the final song if you saw the show? ...But more to the point, how do you not know who Liv Kristine is? She is fucking awsome, she really added to the show I would say, one of the best female singers in metal ever, in my opinion at least. Anyway, She is still metal royalty and really well known, she (and her band at the time) pretty much started the whole thing gothic metal scene with a girl soprano singer, that style that soo many bands have copied now ^^
Oh by live I was watching from the TV :P So I missed the first few songs. Wish I got tickets though :( Coming next year! And for Liv, I've heard the name before, and she might be awesome. But on the two songs I really like with female front, it was god awful to listen to. Everything just felt wrong.
Oh for fuck sake, of course I know her! She's a great singer indeed, and from my country, Norway! She's killing it in Leave's Eyes but not with Eluveitie. That felt nothing but wrong.
I was on Eluveitie back in July on Masters of Rock festival and her voice just doesnt suit them. I was still happy their played songs with women vocals tho, but yeah, it was kinda awful.
TeaRex Well, I can admit that some songs sounded a bit weird, not just the ones with her on them though. The whole sound mixing and quality felt a bit off for most of the show. That was to me more distracting than Liv not fitting in. But each to his own, I think she did great and I did not mind her at all, one of the better singers they could have picked. But at this point it's just a difference in opinion so there really isn't more to be gain from this conversation :P
Good band but I don't think they're good live. I don't mean it in a negative way, some music styles are just better in a studio environment to bring out the intricacies in their music that a loud venue can't provide.
I've heard them live at a show in Greece and they were perfect in every song. Sometimes bad shows have to do with long tours or it just happens. To be fair, the mix of what we hear in this video is not good too. :)
