    Hey guys, great job on the Costco trip. My wife and I love Costco and we are seriously considering retiring in Vallarta in the next 2 to 3 years. I will continue to follow your great videos and hopefully keep in touch.

    A bunch of my friends work for costco in issaquah washington. Some cooperate and some on the floor. They went to costco in pv and the things that states like washington tax us like crazy was super cheap compared to what we are used too.

      Oh wow thats good to know! All the prices here include the 16% sales tax.

    Many prices are surprisingly high. We did much of our shopping at local produce places and tiendas. I didn’t do as much impulse shopping there as I usually do at Costco!

    • @Morelifediaries

      We don't do ANY impulse shopping anymore which we did quite often in Toronto. We love shopping at Tianguis or Tiendas but some stuff just makes sense for us to get at costco. Thanks for watching :)

    As a Canadian...I am soooo embarrassed by how low our Dollar is in comparison. The last time I was in Mexico our dollar was 16-17 the US dollar was 18-19 and now look at us 12. Embarrassing. Thank you Justin.

      It's not doing good AT ALL. He's doing a good job........................at ruining the country

      Agreed, it's our Canadian dollars that's going into the dumps which in turn makes shopping in Mexico prohibitive.. And your so right it's embarassing..5 yrs ago as a Canadian in Mexico things were about one third the cost compared to Canada. Now in Vallarta things are actually more expensive... Go figure.

    I’m a little disappointed in terms of prices. I was expecting cheaper prices especially from Costco in Mexico. Here in Moncton, NB🇨🇦, our prices are similar to yours. We are in PV on Wednesday, so we will be hitting your Costco this Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks for the video. Merci Marc!

    • @Morelifediaries

      Merci :) Prices at Costco are similar or more expensive than back in Canada. The local markets are where we get our fruits, veggies, eggs, fish.

    Do you find that prices are getting higher in PV local markets as well, besides Costco? I figure Costco would be high just because it is a North America chain.

    • @Morelifediaries

      Yes they definitely have! Mexico is going through the same high inflation rate as most of the world so everything is more expensive.

    At the end - in the USD you didn't do too bad. Lots of food - that's what I spend for one person for two weeks at Trader Joes.

    • @Morelifediaries

      Yes we get a descent amount of sutff! Each pack of meat gives us about 4 meals each + leftovers. We usually go once every 3 weeks to stock up on mostly what we bought in the video.

    I think it's the 16% tax that is making my mouth drop. In Oregon we have no sales tax. Most items seem a lot more expensive than the states. I only shop at Costco for my son's food truck business - so I don't know the price of everything. Costco is great if you're shopping for a family - I live alone so it's not something I do for myself.

    • @Morelifediaries

      If i was alone i'd only go for Hot Dogs lol You're right it's great for families - that being said we prefer to support local for a lot of things that others would otherwise buy at Costco for the convenience factor. Those people find buying food in PV VERY expensive LOL

    • @homesalesbyedgar

      Even with the 16% sales tax included in the price, I think that the prices are still relatively affordable and less than the US.

    Thanks for another great video! We call Costco “The $200 Dollar Club”, so if you can get out under that you did well ! lol. Seemed like the Levi jeans and Costco toilet paper is more expensive in MX than the US? Take care 😄

      It most definitely is lol Levi’s is crazy expensive I feel like they’re half the price in Canada.

    I just spent $500 usd at Costco. The exchange rate is pretty bad right now and some items are definitely more expensive in Mexico. I usually don’t buy some of the goodies I got like the chocolate bunnies. 😅Back in California I’m thinking chips or gas?

    • @Morelifediaries

      Thanks for sharing! Exchange rate is no Bueno - we can't afford goodies right now lol

  • @RainBitcoins

    Ya I just did a shop at Costco Vallarta and once I did the conversion to Canadian dollars I couldn't believe how much more expensive things were compared to Costco in Canada. But that's because our Canadian dollar exchange is poopoo at the moment. But nearly 40 bucks CAD for Kirkland paper towels compared to 22 bucks back in Canada. The difference was shocking in fact. But what they do have is very nice wagyu steaks, which Canada does not have, or rarely ever has.
    By the way, thank you for making these videos. Yours vids were a big reason why our family picked Vallarta for our 3 week holiday. And although Vallarta is considerably more expensive than the other 5 places we've visited in Mexico we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We found the Beach next to La Isla mall was a much nicer and less packed Beach than the main one down in Zona Romantica..If you haven't visited that beach yet it is highly recommended.. The sand is sooo much nicer. Almost white sand, the beach is also much wider, so beach goers are not as crammed, meaning the hotels are further back from the water.

    • @Morelifediaries

      Yes it ain’t cheap. Tax is include in prices here but even then it’s still more for most products!

    I live in Orlando. Costco by us is pretty expensive. I prefer Sam's. Quality is a little lower, but better prices.
    Your price of flour and yogurt were ok, but the other stuff was pretty high. The pork shoulder and ground beef were really high. The strawberry pack is about $9 here (no tax on fruit).
    $60 vodka?!?
    When i move, I'm not packing anything but vodka.
    Super interesting! Love to see more shopping vids!

    I buy at ostco the 1.75 liter Grey Goose Vodka for $42, you showed your 1 liter at $60. Thats crazy. Our Kirkland Olive Oil 2L is $21, yours $26. The Heinz Ketchup, Pepperidge Farms Goldfish, and Fruit Loops were a lot more. Its called cost of transportation. There is only one Kirkland DC in Mexico and thats in Mexico City. I have a DC one hour away.

      I think you're right - transport and possibly import especially for a lot of electronics. I might be making this up but I feel like I read Amazon is opening more distribution centers in Mexico.

    What do you do for diapers/pull ups (assuming your toddler uses either.) We just got back from Costco yesterday and spent about $300 in Austin. We were so bummed about the churro but the cookie was delish.

    • @Morelifediaries

      We buy them at Woolworth - Kat says they’re cheaper there. The cookie was good although I feel like they should cook it a few minutes less.

    Love the stuff you showed and the currency breakdown. You guys did good in regards to spending. The average for us, family of 3 (4yo child) ranges from $3000-$5000mx 🫠 Also, just wanted to mention they definitely sell different stuff during high season vs low season! Did you guys notice that?

    • @Morelifediaries

      I’ve noticed the Ketchup, the wine and the maple syrup flying off the shelves during high season 🤔
