Two games in March to prove himself!
The key areas that needs considerations is RW and RCM.
-Zirkzee over brobbey. He is a better overall striker. Three strikers shud be Depay, zirkzee, brobbey. Weghorst shud be dropped
- Matusiwa shud be called for the two friendlys before deciding on de roon and koopmeiners/ veerman/schouten
- if Danjuma can get his career back on track I think he could be instrumental. Super sub
- I Danjuma if he can get his career back on track. He shud be in the squad
Danjuma is one that I forgot to add to this! Good spot! He isn't important enough for his club at the moment but he did have a very promising 6 months once for club and country that made us think he could be an answer in attack!
Danjuma should be an alternative if he can regain back his form before march@@FootballOranje

Brobbey will be the top striker. Hartman unfortunately is out for the rest of the season so maybe Maatsen will get a call?

I really want to see Schouten next to Frenkie, but if that turns out to not work that well I believe Reijnders will do a good job there or Wieffer. De Vrij can be subbed by preferably Van de Ven (He has been great thi season) or De Ligt (though season so far with injuries and Kim Min Jae being a beast for Bayern but he is still a very good player). If we were to play with 3 attackers I would play Lang on the left, Memphis through the middle and Gakpo on the right but you can also try Frimpong as a right winger, he already plays in a very attacking role at Leverkusen.
We will see what Koeman will do in the upcomming friendlies.
Thanks for your thoughts! Agree with lots of them. It would be great to see Schouten, and he is a realistic shout next to De Jong if we need someone technical but defensive minded. I still think Reijnders is the number 8 that offers balance to the midfield, but Schouten could be useful towards the end of the tournament if we need someone to sit deep or if Reijnders is injured or out of form.
At end of the season now, would you put Van De Ven in?

Good video! My only disagreement is I don't think it's necessary to take both Botman and Van de Ven especially with Ake already in the squad. Also I would definitely take either Schouten or Wieffer since I believe they are the only pure defensive midfielders who could play next to De Jong. For example in a 4-3-3 Schouten could anchor the midfield alongside De Jong with Reijnders just ahead.
Yeah really like this suggestion. I have a soft spot for Schouten's style of play, so would quite like him going to the Euros somehow.

Malen is awful. Inconsistent and predictable.
Zirkzee is closer to the starting 11 than to being dropped in my opinion.
Interesting to see how much people seem to value Dumfries. He is very good at making big moments happen with his work rate and intelligence. But his touch is bad and slow and he can be pressed to great effect. I would honestly prefer Frimpong to start or, better yet, go back to 4 at the back with Dumfries at fullback and Frimpong as the wide midfielder in front of him. Having 2 players on the wing especially with that much speed will keep opponents honest. Why do you think the 2010 team didn’t get pressed to death every game with that back line? Robben and Kuyt worked hard to get in behind and make teams think twice about being over aggressive.
Interesting comments...Zirkzee will need to prove himself in March. As for Dumfries, he offers a lot in the final third and he is a hard worker for sure. His best position is the right-wing back role.
Weghorst must in starting XI if you want to win, not Xavi Simons 🤦🏻🤦🏻
I think you are in a minority if you want Weghorst in the XI! He was important when there were injuries, but he can't be relied upon to win a Euros.
Not easy with many injuries and questions.

I would respectfully disagree with the idea of Brobbey being ahead of Zirkzee. To be honest, Zirkzee is evolving to be one of our best strikers so far for this generation.
His adaptability with the Italian competition which is renown for their sturdy defending system and seemingly displaying an outstanding performance against it makes him deserve to be included in the upcoming summer tournament.
He's now one of the key players for Bologna that brings them in the top tier of the Serie A. I think that should be an evidence for his deservedness. Overlooking a pivotal figure like him wouldn't be a wise option
I agree just based off of what I"m seeing in highlights, he looks like a pure finisher, Brobbey doesn't... YET
I feel like if we’re going to play a 5-3-2 system and want to have Xavi in the starting 11 he has to play behind the 2 strikers in midfield. He plays behind strikers in his club and look how he excels. With 2 proper strikers in front of him this can allow him to pick passes and be lethal going forward. What do you guys think?
That's a great suggestion! So who would you have as the two strikers? Memphis and Brobbey? Does it matter if the two are strong or quick?
@@FootballOranjeI think Brobbey 100% as of now he obviously needs to keep up with his current form and Memphis if fit (that’s a big ask lol) if not gakpo instead. This can work really well but you would really have to use frimpong and push him down that right side. Let me know what do you think maybe try this in march? not much time to try new things tho.
I think Xavi has had what 9-10 games for Oranje? and I'm not overly impressed. I think he's on the team, but he's not a Key 11 for me.... YET

Let's be honest. Malen has talent but is Lazy, his workrate is Low. Malen needs a fitness coach, sometimes he gains like 8kg becomes useless and then drops the weight and starts scoring. Noa Lang started season great, but got injured we could not see him play for Oranje or PSV for months, lets hope he comes back strong. Depay's fitness is another issue, can he come back and start playing 90 minutes or we could see him again injured before the tournament. De Roon, Blind: too old too slow. De Roon plays CB in Atalanta this season. We have 40 better CBs than De Roon.
Fair comments. Fitness of Depay and Lang definitely concerning. I didn't know that Lang is still expected to be out after Christmas?
Lang is very an interesting and explosive player when on form. He should be an alternative
The depth of the current dutch team is unprecedented. Even the best teams in the past were still dependent on a few stars. This time the group of talents is so deep tbat the absence of players like Frenkie de Jong and Koopmeiners does not cause serious problems. But it also gives us the possibility of changing our strategy or bringing in new players in the last phase of a game without sacraficing any quality :)

Well said. Lots of spots already decided, and only a few to go who will go to in-form players.
GKs: Verbrugen, Bijlow, Flekken. We do not have outstanding GK but Verbrugen should start in my opinion. Bijlow, sloppy, injury prone and not convincing.
Deffenders. Hartman, AKe (LB). Dumfries, Frimpong RWB. CBs: Van de Ven / Botman, Virgil, De Vrij / De Ligt,.
Midfield: Reijnders, De jong, Gravenberg. Koopenmeiners, Veerman.
Attack. Lang, Gakpo, Simmons, Depay, Brobbey, Weghorst.
Starting XI. Verbruggen, Ake, Van de ven, Van Dijk, De Ligt, Dumfries, Reijnders, De Jong, Gakpo, Depay, Simmons.
Aké at left-wing back is a surprise move. Hopefully Bijlow picks up enough form to convince you -- injuries have held him back, otherwise I think he's a very strong keeper.
@@FootballOranje We have RWB who constantly goes forward, Ake is not gonna play wing back but LB because Dumfries mostly playing forward. We have good LWs but no Right wing so we can play a little asymmetric. From left side LW will attack, from right side RWB will attack. In addition we need our best XI to play and I consider Ake, Van de Ven or Botman more proven more deserving than Hartman. Hartman will switch ake to LCB which he can play but he is undersized at that position and will leave our 2nd best CB defender Van de Ven out of the squad.
CB s I chose tall and physical so that we are dangerous during our corners and safe during opposition corners.
Zirkze Out ? What a joke...He is the most wanted and prolific star in Serie A... one of the best leagues in Europe. Brobbey only plays in Eredivise a much easy tournament, and dont have the talent of Zirkze. Finaly we have a good striker for the oranje.... and you put him out.... ?
With Van de Beek finally finding his way out, I hope he will regain his top form and be part of the midfield consortium. He was intelligent and timed his runs into the box so well.
Agree. Let's hope he refinds his form. Perhaps this tournament is too soon for him, like J Timber and Malacia, and maybe in the next cycle he will be relevant again.
We have to be realistic about Blind. He is going to the euros. The guy is a key player for a Girona side that is challenging for the league. I think Koeman mentioned that once in his press conference. He deserves it imo!
Also Malen should've been picked over Brobbey. He is more versatile and gives our attack something different compared to Brobbey.
Yes we shouldn't ignore Blind's form for his club! He is going to the Euros, and it'll probably be instead of one of the centre back options that we named.
As for Malen, I disagree at the moment. Has he done enough to go ahead of one of the other pacey attacking options?
Blind will definitely be on the plane. He still have something to give plus to the Team esp. the younger ones need a "mentor" that can influence and make others perform better

@@pus1546 Watch both of them for their clubs and tell me if you feel the same way. We need to start building our future talent... not hang on to washed up players who aren't even in their starting 11 for their clubs. Wout isn't a difference maker. He's often invisible in an orange shirt. Neither of them should start over a fit Memphis or Gakpo... but I'd rather have Zirkzee as an option.

@@pus1546 He has? We haven't had a proper striker since VanPersie. He's been one of our only options and average at best. I hope you are right. I really do... but at some point you have to push talent over experience - Otherwise we'd be starting Wijnaldum.
I wonder if there is room for both in the squad next to Memphis? Drop Brobbey/Dallinga.

Zirkzee is not an out and out striker he is more in Bergkamp style. I do not understand that NOT ONE SO CALLED PROFESSIONAL COACH has SEEn THIS, HIS A VERY CREATIVE PLAYER AND SHOULD BE PAIRED WITH BROBBEY AS THE BEST STRIKING DUO FOR ORANJE IN THE COMING YEARS.

Nice choices! I think Blind should be selected, not only he's been great for Girona, but also, there isn't another left wingback alternative to Hartman.

Ake can play LB. But not LWB, but still, I'd rather save the roster spot for MF or up front.
Malen what is he doing in Dortmund?? What he has done in oranje?.. De roon still back up? This is modern day football and era of rodri, kimmich, declan rice, tomas partey, why he is even considered??. Blind is close to become grand pa.. Blind has one of the best brain in football, so do have seadorf, cocu, do we need to call them aa back up??

Marten de Roon is captain of Europa League winner Atalanta, but still has no problem doing all the dirty work no one notices, so the 'star' players can shine.
Blind is currently the undisputed strategic brain of Girona, which is challenging all the top teams of Spain.
Why would you not want to have both of them in your team ? ;)
@@martijn_yt blind play as left center back, which is stuffed with Ake, virgil and van de ven.. He lacks the pace to be left back, and DM.. Period.. He will be targeted.. Weak point... Girona has not won anything.. Girona is not blind... Girona still a mid table team.. One time wonder... Martin de roon is not press resistant player.. He is a midtable or average club player.. He got in capatiancy with senioirty and age... I doubt with de roon they would beat Leverkusen at final.. Its modern football rodri, camavinga, choumeni, declan rice, they rule the world, not de roon...
