Thanks for watching, man! I love fishing in Illinois. Midwest rivers have a completely different feel compared to southern rivers. I like the midwest's better.
I lived in Champaign for 5 years during college, it's not a great fishing area, unfortunately. The only rivers that close are the Sangamon (River Bend Forest Preserve) and the Salt Fork Vermilion (Homer lake). Neither are great, but they have fish. When I lived there most of fishing was over an hour drive away
@aidenpan4197 Yes, if fishing lakes is your thing Clinton lake is good! But, it does get pretty busy. For bank fishing, I'd recommend either the 14 or 48 bridge. Both are good. Look at Google maps if you're unsure where those are.
@dragac90 That's not how the title is supposed to be taken. It's obvious from the thumbnail that this is not *the* Illinois River, since it's too small. The title just means this is a river in Illinois.
Great rundown of the stuff and why you are using what you are using. For your walk around setups.
Awesome video, those bass at the end were real cool looking. Cool you came back up to fish Illinois still. Keep up the great work

I had a slow early spring as well, outside of trout. At least you found a place to land smallies, and maybe spotted bass.
Found a place in IL, 7 hours from where I live 😂
Great video babe!!!
Love your videos! You keep it interesting! Go EFH!❤🐟

Great as always 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for watching, Dan! Idk if you noticed, but the first 2 bridges were your home river.
Looked like a great day to be out even if the fish weren't cooperating the best. Nice couple fish though. Are you back in IL or just visiting? 👍
We were just visiting. I've been trying to get back again for a kayak float but IL has been getting rain every weekend for the past month
@@EngineeringHooksets That's not a bad thing for them. Sucks when you're traveling though.
Where is this at
Fishing in the Illinois river, or fishing in a river in Illinois? Never seen the Illinois look so small! XD

@@EngineeringHooksets Do you recommend Clinton Lake? 30min drive away but we beginners don't know where to fish since the lake was big
