some recommandations from a fellow Brusselaar :
- if you want to thrift : think twice (there's 2 shops near the city center) and melting pot kilo (2 shops, one near Bourse and one near les Marolles), charity shops are called "les petits riens"
- maybe try aldi for more vegan/veggie options but i'm not sure if they have a lot of products :/
- go to the parks (jardin botanique, parc du cinquentenaire, parc royal, bois de la cambre, etc) !! best place to go when it gets hot, with some fruits and a book
- if you want to take the train to visit Belgium, there's a student pass that costs you 6,60€ for one ticket (much cheaper than the other ones usually) ;)
- the usual touristey things are fun to do as well
