I have one of these horns in dark vintage lacquer and it is outstanding. A clear move up from my previous four hundred series Yamaha. Beautiful warm tone and very supple in the bottom register in particular. Paired with my JodyJazz mouthpiece, it's simply a dream come true.
Aldo thanks for that demonstration. P.Mauriat really is really the revelation of modern saxophone today. Personally I use PMT 66R Tenor Sax, but this year I'll be at the NAMM SHOW testing the system 76 2nd edition ...
Hi Roilan. Thanks to you for posting your opinion and truly support to P.Mauriat saxophones. I used to play before the 66RUL and they are too fantastic saxophones. You never go wrong with P.Mauriat instruments
i play the p.mauriat swing55jx the body bell and bow is made of bronz the bell brass with silver content the sound is awsome wery dark and complex tone
The Mark VI still sounds better to me. The notes are fluid and sweeter. The P Mauriat sounds harsh but not by a lot. I think these horns are getting better. However, I wonder if they weigh a lot. They look heavy. El Mark VI suena mejor. Las notas son mas fluidas. Cuanto pesa el tenor?
