- Music by Paul Buckmaster (based on Libertango by Astor Piazolla).
Ok, you will not find this one on CD with soundtrack. I've made this piece from different parts of different tracks.
Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT HAVE 12 MONKEYS AND THE MUSIC.
Just watched the movie for the first time, and this theme gripped me instantly.
My exact sensation!
DeltaF1 me too !
+DeltaF1 It goes with the movie so well its unreal
Its scary, isn´t it?
Made by the great Astor Piazzolla. If you want to hear the original version, look for "Suite Punta del Este"
One of the rarest movies that compiles every major genre : Drama, Action, Thriller, Neo noir, Sci fi, ...and a bit of Comedy and Romance too!
Comedy?
Tf is neo noir and why is it being used to describe a psychological thriller
@@CollegeDroputPowerpoints Neo-noir is a revival of film noir, a genre that had originally flourished during and after World War II in the United States-roughly from 1940 to 1960.
@@MichiColap i was laughing the entire time when brad pitt was in the screen
The music in this film is amazingly powerful in the way it depicts a man's descent into madness.
Makes me feel like I'm getting closer and closer to the truth despite it being so far away. Yet I wont keep trying
this melody stuck in my mind.best intro for a movie..
me too
its a masterpiece like terminator theme,moricone`s mohicans,amelie,star wars,rocky,godfather etc.
The accordion is so fitting for the movie. It literally sounds crazy and wacky, but is somehow amazing. Just like the film
it's a bandoneon
"Mexico is one of the few places where the accordion player still gets laid."-Conan O'Brian
It was so perfect for the movie, such an interesting piece!
Watched it for the first time yesterday on TV, been meaning to get around to it pretty much since I first heard of it fifteen or so years ago, but wasn't really expecting anything beyond your standard post-apo sci-fi. And the first ten minutes do strengthen that assumption. But then... oh boy, crazy ride. I never saw Brazil, maybe it's similar, but rarely do I get the feeling of watching something I barely scratched the top layer off. It's very hard to get out of your head.
Bandoneon!! No acordeon
This movie is criminally underrated
This is the most terrifying and creepiest shit I've ever heard. It's amazing!
+Quantumish Indeed. For me, it overshadowed the movie completely. Perhaps because I couldn´t figure out the movie, but this came as scary very clearly to me.
Richardsen To figure out this movie, it probably took me 12 hours of my life.
Quantumish
Well, I have only seen it twice, so I have a lot of work ahead. Besides, time travelling movies are hard for me to assimilate, because they always get me thinking of the grandfather paradox.
Astor piazzolla suit punta deleste
This is terrifying for you¿¿¿ This is Tango from Argentina and it is a clasic here
I recently started listening to Astor Piazzola and his music reminded me of this. I just found out he actually composed it and i'm irrationaly giddy about it. Man, I love his music! :)
Listening Libertango is listening the actual hart of Buenos Aires. As argentinian and Porterño (borned un Buenos Aires), this sounds for as like the buses, traffic horns, on a tipical busy day Downton
this song was used in the simpsons

"You! You're one of us!"
I was 13 when I watched this by first time.
Now that I am 17 I watched it again and still felt the same madness and anguish as before. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen
This music is on a constant loop in The Joker's head.
Main theme: autor: Astor Piazzolla, Suite Punta del Este..
@@pablomaurelli Thanks a lot Victoria, for this reference. I've been looking for this for quite a while now. It must be one of the beautifullest piece I have ever heard.
I was just thinking about the Joker’s laugh performed by Mark Hamill.

2020's theme song
Watched it many years ago, but still this music gives me goosebumps.
One of the most exceptional movies in history.
Sounds like you’re fighting a gang of evil Merry Men.
This song scared the shit out of me as a kid. great movie!
That's funny because it is not supposed to be a scary song

Dla mnie najlepsza, najbardziej fascynująca muzyka filmowa wszech czasów.
Miło widzieć rodaczkę,bo mało nas tutaj.. muzyka absolutnie zajebista
The sound of insanity
Or humanity?
The music what has made by Astor Piazzolla is a insanity

You are absolutely right, it gives me the hibbijeebies
@@pjlove5564 its a very depresive verison of jazz
But yeah, its so beutiful. If you are english speaker and you understands spanish you must to hear the infinite files of tango
A great theme and an under appreciated film!
Even though it has no reason to be, I find this song terrifying and creepy for some reason. It's great.
I find the "28 days later", creepier.
If it wants to fit the movie it needs to be.
I agree completeley, the use of distorted "classical" instrumets tend to have this effect, the feeling of an ancient evil, something wrong, something undefinable, but present.
RZ-357 is right, distorted classical instruments are creepiest. Listen to the music in Insidious
+Chowdaire SAME i find it so so so creepy
The future is history.
They're coming.

"That bullet is an antique,

This theme gives the movie this timeless Dark Fantasy feeling
And howe's that' ?

that introducing harmony in strings just gives me goose skin all the time. Incredible in its well organized dissonances which make perfect sounding.

The most underrated soundtrack ever
I remember the tv trailer when I was kid and it seemed totally different from when I finally saw the movie last year. This theme playing in my head would ironically help me cope with a chaotic future in real life love it and i love they used it in the 12 monkeys tv series . I wish I watched this movie instead of contagion in 2020
What is it with my love for crazy, dark films during the 90's!!!!!! This is one of them, se7en another!
Btw, there's also a really cool kinda under appreciated dark movie called "Dark City". I recommend it, its really good
I watched the movie again and it just gets better every time I watch it
One great theme music to one great movie! Absolutely genius!
This movie is super dope. Theme is whimsical and eerie
This is NOT based in Libertango as the description says. This piece from Buckmaster in based in Piazzolla's "Suite Punta del Este" which is a Suite o 3 movements for Bandoneón and Orchestra. He wrote this piece, premiered it and dedicated it to a small Camerata that played in Punta del Este, Uruguay (where Piazzolla passed his summers) I think it was called "Camerta de Punta del Este" but don't quote me just yet on this last part.
Thanks for that. This was driving me bonkers
I loved the music in this movie! And I loved that alot of it was filmed in my hometown, Philadelphia

I think I watched that film a thousand times, and I will not be boring from that. 90th - 2000 it is the best movies what people can watch.
My favorite movie soundtrack of all time, and has been so for 25 years... Very appropriate theme for today’s Corona-society.

el tema se llama SUITE PUNTA DEL ESTE y es un tema de Piazzolla
Creía que santaolalla fue el que compuso la banda sonora para la peli. Gracias por aclarar

Kudos for uploading this dude and very good job at piecing this together, pretty impressive 🙂
I actually watched this again recently, and I can't help but see parallels between it and Fight Club. Partly because of Brad Pitt's role, but also because of his role in sowing chaos.
this music is the best accordion music I've ever heard!
Love the theme song and the movie by terry Gilliam
It reminds me of music by Yann Tiersen - Deutsch Mark is coming ^^
Just the beginning
Loved his atmospheric concertina (?) score. Reminded me of those great, spare, French soundtracks. It's manic, desultory, drunken and discordant qualities effectively mirrored the strained state of mind of the "crazy" protagonist. Anyone know the musicians and/or instruments?
The instrument is a bandoneon.Performed and composed by Astor Piazzolla
Paul Robinson and i think the title is "El Puerto Este".
***** It did originate in South America, and was derived from European and African influences. It was indeed popular in Paris in the late nineteenth century. I found a CD featuring Yo Yo Ma and an ensemble of musicians honouring Piazzolla, which I very much enjoyed. Forgive my rotten Spanish; I was never proud of it anyway............
What a theme!!! wow even better than I remembered!
