Railways , British Railways Mail by Rail at Swansea High Street.

With mail by rail drawing to an end in 2003 ,we are at Swansea HIgh Street Station on the 29/01/2001 observing 47774 arriving from Margam depot to shunt the mail Vans and then proceed on the 1M01 14.25 Swansea to Willesden Mail Hub.
A vital part of the Royal Mail Transportation network soon to disappear.
We also see 3 different HST liveries working in and out of Swansea .. all now confined to history.
This is the last video I am publishing in 2019, Happy New Year , see you all in 2020.

Lovely video, thanks. I spent many an hour where you were, back in the 80s although I didn't have a video camera - they were expensive lol. Love the power of those 47s: was it me or did 774 come in hot!? Great machines, nice to see my home town again. Cheers from Brunei.

Nice footage shame all the sidings and most parcel coaches have long since been scrapped I saw two mk1s in preservation in Stratford upon Avon as a shop near where we stayed in a tent I believe cos camping in tent is cheap if you have a tent egg already plus one was in Gloucestershire - Warwickshire railway as area for model layouts
