Thank you so much for this amazing video! You explained everything so I could actually understand! I love that you showed what parts you used and exactly how to use them. I learned so much! Any ideas on the best way to make a L shaped room divider for a classroom ceiling? It’s a drop ceiling and I can’t drill into the walls or ceiling. And it has to be easy to take up and down or at least easily remove the curtains each day. I will have to store the curtains each night so something that would be easy to roll up or fold. But then easy to hang up the next day. I will be using queen or king size flat sheets as the dividers, unless somebody has a cheaper suggestion. I’m trying to make this happen as easy and thrifty as possible. I hope this makes sense and I really hope you might have some ideas or tips for me.
This seller ships this item very carefully to ensure that your room divider th-cam.com/users/postUgkxWv_wTHyTRVm0QkcOw1Rz2-5g_gDoRTkU is not damaged in transit. They even place stickers saying glass, handle with care. I originally bought a 4 panel room divider, but after receiving it I knew I needed larger for the area I was trying to hide. I wanted a 6 panel, but it was not offered in the Espresso color that I wanted, so I went with 5 panels. This is serving my purpose very well on hiding my dog's pee pads. I ended up using the 4 panel one in a corner behind my Christmas tree. The best thing is you do not have to put anything together, you just take it carefully out of the box and place it where you want it. It can be moved around very easily. Plus, these dividers start at the floor, so nothing is seen moving around on the other side like some other dividers I looked into. Now that I have a 4 and 5 panel one, I am sure that I can get them to overlap and work other ways should I need to in the future.
Did it just like he explains, works great for me and for one fourth of what a room divider costs online (not to mention those dont cover from wall to wall and even take up more space and can get knocked down easily), 5 stars for a quick do it yourself! 👌🏼
I'll be doing this with weights at the bottom of the curtain to seperate my room so my cats can't get to my computer area, I've seen a lot of videos of cats ruining computers. The computer is in the bedroom and I want to sleep with my cats without the fear of thousands of dollars gone in an instant. thanks for the video it's very helpful
5:45 ( what is a plant thing, please, as i think i want to do that). Great video! I love this idea!... also, i am wanting to gather the necessary hardware that you listed, but some of the links are broken. Please, can you assist me with a breakdown of what i need, and perhaps, i can secure the items at my local hardware store.
The place we did this in was a rental as well lol. Nothing a little spackle and paint can't solve. I wouldn't use command hooks though, the curtains weight too much I would think
Nice job! Looks good and looks like it works great. One suggestion on installing another one or upgrade, is to get some lag screw eye bolts and thread them right through the drywall into a wood stud. May have to drill a small hole and then thread in the lag screw eye bolt. If the stud isn't in the wall where you want to hang it you can screw on a 2x4 section that spans two studs and then lag screw anywhere on the 2x4. Paint it the same color as the wall.
@@lauriejohnson126Regular lag screw connects materials together that will hold a large load like a deck to a house, or a board on a wall. An eye lag screw is a course thread heavy duty fastener for lifting, rigging, suspension. But there are all kinds of sizes of lag screws depending on what the application is. Lag screw a floating shelf, TV wall mount, or suspension cable wall to wall in wood studs.
1:18 How do you make the hole? Tku so much for including the supplies list but I'm not quite following you in how to do this. Will it work to hammer a nail in and then pull the nail out? Or? And will scissors work if I need to cut the wire? And these pieces kinda sorta look alike in that if I were to do this, I'd need to freeze-frame your video every couple of seconds to make sure I'm doing it right - from what I see, if I make one oops, it will fail.
and it doesn't seem that the links to the supplies are all accurate. Plus, whoa, is it like over $200 for all the supplies? (Sorry, I sound like a nay-sayer, eh. This project may be too advanced for my skill level.)
I actually have to fix the links on the video sorry. It shouldn't be that much. Homedepot has everything, you can get the wire cut to a custom length there as well. Use a hammer and a screwdriver to make the hole. Good luck!
When I went to Europe, I stay in a place that had a curtain like wall, but was made of segments of small slabs of wood that retracted in a corner. Anyone knows what such type of walls are called? There was some type of rail in the top that guided to curve around as well, as the decided was like an L shape. However on the room I like to do, is a straight up wall. I like to do like a fake wall, because would be to enclose a TV room, that I want as dark as possible. I rather do that than build a wall and a door, as i could have the place open when the tv is not in use. Plus the room permanently enclosed would be weird, if I were to sell the place in the future...
Looks like crap and i bet it holds like it looks. If your going to do something in a kids room do right and up to code dont cut corners guys just frame it in.
Not all of us are carpenters or can afford carpenters. This is a simple, short alternative that will work just as nicely as “framing it in” and not permanently separate a room that only needs temporary privacy. I cannot even imagine the problems that would cause when trying to put the house on the market! Let the man do his best and lay off the negativity.
Just came back to thank you! We've used this setup the last few years. It's perfect. Thank you so much!!!!!!
Glad to help!
Love the explanation of the various parts, thanks!
Happy to help!
Great affordable set up, ty for sharing.
This was so helpful, thank you! I kept searching for something like this that wasn't gonna put holes in my ceiling. XD

Hmm, I'd use a carabiner to attach the sheets. Those are easy to remove. You could also just attach the carabiner to the metal on the roof.
Many thanks to you!!! This is what I was searching for!!!

Going to do this but I will add a washer and a nut in the eye bolt so that I'm not screwing the eyebolt itself into the drywall.
Thank you so much! I’m trying to turn my 1bedrm into a 2bedrm apartment.
We hope the video helps! Our kids loved it actually.
Thank you best video just what i needed 😊
Nice job. So totally how much did it cost for you?
Like $100 the majority of the cost was the fabric / curtains themselves.
what did you make the whole with
I’m in an apartment but I don’t mind making the holes however my question is how do you take it out ?
The anchors will just unscrew and fall inside the wall 🧱. Just patch it and paint it and no one will ever know.
You just turn the turnbuckle the opposite way and it will be loose again. Then twist out the eyebolt but yea the back will fall into the wall 😂
How do you get the anchor out? Or do you just let it drop on the inside of the wall if you wanted to take it out?
Yes, the anchor does not come out, EVER! LOL
Say goodbye to anchor forever. This is the last ever moment we seeing each other 😢😢😢

I spent less than 20 dollars for this stuff at lowes
Hello, the t-anchor link isn’t working. Do you have specific measurements on that one?
1/4
Steel wire,2 eyebolts 2 t anchors 1 t knuckle two steel wire cramps
I cant find the link.
That you linked below ?? Where
IN A RUSH….
What do I need to make the L shape as you mentioned instead of it just staying directly across???
An eye bolt, or eyelit. Basically just a round hole attached to the roof to re-direct the wire the other way.
Planning on doing this project tomorrow, if you could let me know about the ceiling fan, please :)
Ceiling fan was able to work fine. Just went right under it.

In a RUSH!!!!! The link for your t-anchor isn’t working. Can you let me know what size I need so I can find one?
I will fix that. It is 1/4" they eye bolt threads into it so same as that.
Thanks so much! My weekend project :)
How did you avoid the fan? Ours is in the very center, which is basically where we want the curtain . I’m assuming yours is too?
thats what i was looking for
What’s your height?
What are the main materials?

Yeah don't get it close with it closed

How would you say the best way to do this without being a carpenter?
