    So good to see someone else match wiring color. I've traced tail light wiring that was butchered and five different colors used. Happy Thanksgiving to you and family.

    I love your methodical approach to fault finding. If I didn’t have the same colour, I would have used heat shrink to cover it. Great little bike 🙂

      I would have done the same thing with the heat shrink.

      It’s an easy fix. Just need to figure out where it’s broken

    A shop would have just ordered a new one, you had it fixed in less time than it would have taken to locate, order, receive and install the new part.

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re right. Especially when they realize that to change the control you have to remove the handlebars. The wires run through them.

    Haha! I just came across a somewhat similar situation. My 78 hawk tii had a starter button that had become less and less reliable with use. It worked fine most days then needed a wiggle of the button as it was pressed in to work, until it just quit making contact. My leg is getting tired starting this bike, so it's time to end the procrastination and dive in.
    I'm guessing the wire broke off like your project or the pin broke off. If the pin broke off, have any ideas on what to use to repair it?

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If the pin broke. Let me know I may have a button laying around.

      Turns out mine was just really sludged up with gunk. I cleaned everything with electronic contact cleaner and scuffed all the contacts. Boom, it all worked.
      However, when I put it all back together I noticed the plastic was kinda warped. The screw that held the internal button assembly in wouldn't go back the way it was. I could persuade it, but the button was really sticky. I left the screw out and it works. You can't tell once the assembly is back on the bars
      Now, on to figuring out my blinkers, lol

    i see that you have a few vintage bikes,i was wondering how much do 1976-78 honda cb400f super sport in good condition are selling for now a days? thank you....

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The CB400f’s are great motorcycles. The will depend on condition and location. My guess would be between 1k to 8k where I am in New Orleans.
