Love Webber's court sense, ballhandling and passing. He was such a fluid, beautiful player to watch, especially for a big guy. Kings should've won the title in 2002.
The Kings team in the early-mid 2000's were amazing; Webber, Divac, Bibby, Christie, Peja, and Bobby Jackson off the bench. As a Mavs fan, so many heartbreaks at the hands of the Kings.
Webber was a beast before his knees went out. He had a nice mid range shot and played solid defense. I remember when Sacramento had a better team than the Lakers and got a couple of bad calls and breaks that cost them a ring.
Well back them the game was rigged plenty of TH-cam videos showing it. The NBA always tried to keep the top franchises on top such as the Lakers, Celtics. Even during the Isiah Thomas days it was almost impossible beating the Lakers. All about money of course. Trying to make the NBA as big as it can
If you watched him play as a rookie in Golden State, he made plays like that every game. He was one of the most dominate rookies in league history in my opinion. Avery Johnson throwing him lobs, Sprewell and Mullin doing their thing, and Tim Hardaway and Billy Owens running point making plays. That team was destined for greatness, and they let Nelly ruin it. I still haven't forgave them for trading away Webber for Tom Gugliotta. C-Webb was a beast in Golden State!
He was goin to win but that injury...But Sir Charles once said "Chris Webber cannot play basketball" Then got taked on poster by C-Webb...Love you Chuck, but you had it comin
Larry Bird was quoted as saying "If this is the future of the NBA(in regard to CWebb) I want out now while I still can" after CWebb and the other college players demolished the Dreamteam at that first practice... Chuck Daly set the dreamteam up though so they would be more motivated but that's high praise from Larry Legend who doesn't drop high praise often...
Chris Webber is the perfect example of how you don't need to win a championship to be a winner. Stephon Marbury -everywhere he went they lost - loser. But Webber, everywhere he went they won. The Warriors were nothing before him. He took 'em to the playoffs. The Bullets were horrendous before Webber, he took them to the playoffs. The Kings were nobody before him, he turned them into a championship contender, and if the '02 WCF weren't rigged he'd probably have a ring. He didn't win a championship, but Webber was a winner.
William Clark man i been saying this for years..02 was the kings year and they were robbed..all these years later the nba are too embarrassed to even talking abt it..
probably to me the most underrated player of all time. He was a megastar back in the day, and if he had never gone down he'd be a top 5 pf of all time, and hes already in that discussion
Even though I lived in New England, I always was and still am a Sacramento Kings fan. Chris Webber was one of my favorite players. That's why I was upset at the NBA2K13 Roster when it came out; why was he not on the 2001 Kings' team roster? He was still playing basketball and people argue that was one of his best years.
Noteworthy people not in nba2k are typically excluded because some former players don't give the 2k franchise the rights to design them as players. Chris Webber didn't give 2k those rights in nba2k13. IDK why but it's his choice
antlerman1357 Ohh, okay. Thank you for telling me. It's a shame, but still, Chris was one of my favorite players. It's too bad he's the ONLY guy from that team who's not on that roster, because I love playing as them.
2002 NBA Finals MVP: Chris Webber. This is how it should have ended. He was an amazing player, such an inspiration. His whole career hes gone through some of the most devastating moments then the nba 2002 WCF and then the injury when the playoffs started the next year and he always came back wanting to get stronger and play his heart out. Im by no means a kings fan but i appreciate what he did for that team and city so much. Chris Webber, They dont make power forwards like this anymore.
He wasn't the best player to ever pick up a basketball... But when he was on the court, he was THE major force to be reckoned with. We'll miss those glorious Kings days..
If u watched the fab five documentary nike sold merchandise like there jerseys and the players didn't get money. They struggled to get money for food and gas, while other people would just get money for selling there stuff. It wasn't chris webbers fault in the NCAA finals when he called the timeout, someone from his bench told him to call it. Fab Five were the best group of college players in the game of basketball, they had talent, athletic build, and most of all heart, they will never be forgotten.

Fast Lyfe Since you brought up all those categories let's go over them. I just checked nba.com for the official numbers so I'm not making this up. You can go over there and check for yourself if you think I'm lying. KG: PTS: 18.2 FG%: 49.7 REB: 10.2 AST: 3.8 STL: 1.3 BLK: 1.4 CW: PTS: 20.7 FG%: 47.9 REB: 9.8 AST: 4.2 STL: 1.4 BLK: 1.4 CW is better in PTS, AST, and STL. BLK is a wash as they are even. The REB is a wash as well because 9.8 is not that far off from 10.2 so your statement that KG is a better rebounder is invalid. KG is a slightly better shooter based on the percentage but not a better defender as the BLK category indicates they are even and STL category indicates CW has the edge. In terms of KG being a better competitor? I've been watching CW play since his college days to the NBA and in terms of pure competitiveness and drive to beat his opponents to a pulp, CW has the edge. From my original statement, I'm just saying I would take CW over KG. I didn't give any numbers because I thought it was apparent who has the edge. Both are great players but I prefer CW play-style and competitiveness better overall than KG. About the ring, if it weren't for Shaq and Kobe, CW would have had a ring as well. You would have to agree that beside the Lakers beating them and winning it all, no one from the East would have beaten them had they made it to the Finals. I also hate it when people use a ring as a stat buffer to imply that a player is better than the other. If that was the case Robert Horry would be considered better than both CW and KG because Horry has 7 rings. There, a more detail explanation as to why I would take CW over KG.
+VersionBest brah KG in his prime (2004) was grabbing 14 boards, 5 assists, 2+ blocks, a steal, and was averaging 24 points on 50% shooting. C webb was good and is a very underrated player but he never sniffed those stats
+VersionBest Take this into account, though.Garnett has played five more years than Webber. So, Garnett has played more seasons past his prime than C-Webb. Ergo, his stats/averages won't be as good.Plus, KG has an MVP and Defensive Player of the Year Award to his name. As skilled as Webber was, he never won any individual awards in the NBA.I think they were both fantastic players. Given the choice, though? I'd take Garnett.
+Zach Altif your argument is completely off base. You failed to realize that when someone is the only good player on that team they will have more opportunities to shine and be put in the spotlight. Thus giving them more of a chance to win those accolades. Take both their stats 4 or 5 years earlier and the numbers would roughly come out to be similar. It's just that KG has more accolades for having roughly similar stats as CWebb. If CWEBB was on a team where he was the only spotlight on that team, the sports world would notice him more and he would have had a better opportunity to win those accolades. Stats doesn't lie. As an athlete their performance is translated into stats and yes I know stats can't aacount for the intangibles, but overall stats is what gives an analyst or anyone for that matter how good a player really is. Your argument regarding that point is completely invalid.
I think he is a legend, he knows everything about the game and i think he is also the nicest guy who was ever in the nba, he is still my favorite ,and there is never gonna be any player like him or duncan or garnett, these tree are the best power forward in the nba histora at all time,i wanna thank you those years in sacramento chris
I'm stating the obvious, but Webber should be in the HOF. He was the bast player on what amounts to a championship team, rookie of the year, changed the landscape of college basketball, and was one of the most talented 6'10"+ players to ever play the game. Every team he went to improved with his presence. The only other retired players to avg 20/9/4 for their careers are in the HOF. His numbers are basically 21pts, 10reb, 4 ast, 1 1/2 st, 1 1/2 blk per game over his career. That's absurd! Compare his career avg to Patrick Ewing. PUT HIM IN THE HALL!!!
***** not even. Jason Kidd though. the Spurs already had a contending team with two all stars on it. Jason Kidd was the only change in NJ from 00/01 - 01/02 and they went from 12th in the East to Eastern Conference Champions over the course of one training camp. as much as I love Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd deserved it more than him.
***** okay I'll give you the All Star selection thing. The Admiral was an All Star in 01, that's what I was referring to. but Kittles, Martin, and Jefferson were not x-factors for that team. if they still had Starbury, they wouldn't have made the playoffs (nothing against him, just truth) Jason Kidd made that team better, and everyone on that team would agree.
When the Golden State Warriors owner chose the coach (Don Nelson) over a great player (Webber), and traded him. Not only did it sent the Warriors to the bottom of the league for decades. But it created a lesson for future NBA owners never again to choose a coach over a great player.
Yes, Webber might of been young and immature. But Don Nelson has a history of being a complete A-hole to his players. Everybody in the Bay Area knows that, and It's been well documented. Webber was young and very talented, and I could understand why he would clash with Don Nelson's A-hole personality. Webber didn't want to play with Don Nelson, and Golden State owner sided with the coach and traded Webber. How did that work out for the Warriors?
lol.. My point is how did it turn out for them under Don Nelson. That one year with Webber, everything was trending up and something special was about to happen until he got traded. That trade sent them back to the middle ages, and it took them decades to recover from that distaster.
+Zach Altif yeah after 20 years, several GM changes, several coaching changes, several player changes, and city change.... And are you really using the ring argument? C Webb would've won one had it not been for a sone faulty calls in the 2002 WCF.
@@alexng4 Nellie was loved by many of his players. Baron Davis said he was ok with him smoking marijuana. Guess that's why he didn't reach his potential lol. Webber showed his true colors in Washington. He was a P.R. nightmare during his tenure there and they had no choice but to offload him.
C-Webb One of the best dunkers of all time (For PF) One of the best passers of all time (For PF) One Of the best defenders of all time (For PF) C-Webb One of the best Big men of all time

He didn't have the best feet, the best speed or the best defense. But he sure could PASS, LEAD and SHOOT. The dude had the best hands in the NBA. He will be forever missed.
Larry Litmanen thats not a hard task to be honest. I find Webber pretty boring and I hate his repetitive phrases like: "kids, if you want to learn how to play basketball look at this play/player", EVERY DAMN GAME!
such a pitty, game 6 was rigged. even today, i could cry about it - i've been a die hard kings fan back then .. this team was straight awesome. thank u for this clip, and thank u for doing what u did in sactown, we really appreciate!
+Zach Altif webber was beast of the east...lol...bullets days...i have kg as my 4 of all time and i am not changing that for nobody. my team would get many championships..magic, wade, james, kg, and kareem abdul jabbar....my bench isiah thomas, olajuwon, duncan, dr.j, dominique wilkins, and oscar robertson
arco was packed for the first time in a while. though i will always remember chris webber when he was with michigan and he got a technical for calling a timeout they didn't have in the last moments of the championship vs. unc. which led to unc's win. maybe b/c i'm a big fan of chapel hill, and i lived in nc. lol, now i live in sacramento.
one of the most underrated big man to play the game, but will always be in that grant hill penny hardaway category of what couldve been if they were healthy long enough especially in their prime
You know Chris Webber alongside Fab 5 had one of the biggest cultural contributions which was the longer shorts. I know that's not a big deal but people often mistakenly credit MJ for bringing in longer shorts when he came into the NBA with John Stockton short-shorts as well. It wasn't until Webber and Juwan Howard came into the NBA with longer shorts that made the rest of the league conform to this new 90s style away from the iconic 80s and before short shorts.
He may not be the best PF, but he definitely belongs to the conversation of being one of the best PFs we've ever seen. I also think that the reason why he was so underrated because he spent a big portion of his career (at least before his devastating injury or during his prime) on irrelevant teams. I mean think about it, a big man who can post, have consistent mid-range jumpshots, are extremely explosive and can really pass, how many of them have we seen so far?
My favourites - 10 - Hahaha 3 - Hahaha 2 - One of my favourite blocks of all time. 1 - I love using that behind the back move but I've never finished it with a dunk over Barkley!! I'm a Laker fan but I can appriciate a great career even if he was a Sacramento King (if he was a Celtic, it would be another story).
@Alexwkj True enough. Look at other great centers like Mutombo and Mourning in the 90's. Besides having supreme numbers annually in blocking, they actually start transitions for their team by creating blocks that ends up with the ball on their teammates' hands.
Number 3 was sick. Looked like some J-Will stuff right there. Chris Webber was def an underrated player I loved watching him when he played for the Kings!
Guy had a lot of mental blocks that kept him from shutting down the lakers all those years, but I still love him! Remember when he first came to sac, he was miserable haha. Had a whole team and fan base built around him, though.

Even during the Isiah Thomas days it was almost impossible beating the Lakers. All about money of course. Trying to make the NBA as big as it can

Ray Petree wilt is tied with webber anmd divac for me
***** disagree with the garnett better than webber at passing no way
+Zach Altif webber was beast of the east...lol...bullets days...i have kg as my 4 of all time and i am not changing that for nobody. my team would get many championships..magic, wade, james, kg, and kareem abdul jabbar....my bench isiah thomas, olajuwon, duncan, dr.j, dominique wilkins, and oscar robertson
I love CWebb. And would also mention Arvidas Sabonis as a great bigman, can pass the ball
Beautiful hands from a beast of a forward!
Much love from Australia C-Webb !!
Ps- would have loved seeing u next to Shaq...
arco was packed for the first time in a while. though i will always remember chris webber when he was with michigan and he got a technical for calling a timeout they didn't have in the last moments of the championship vs. unc. which led to unc's win. maybe b/c i'm a big fan of chapel hill, and i lived in nc. lol, now i live in sacramento.
My favourite player, I started to be a NBA fan thanks to him
That behind the back and dunk on Barkley will never get old
oh damn, he grabbed the ball instead of swatting it away. he truly deserve to be a hall of famer.
#1, #2 & #3 are SICK plays. Wow.
swag and talent! one of my favorite to watch, C-WEB!
you just knew his dunk on barkley would be number one!
gotta love the nike commerical that came after it too!
#2 the block was sick his hands were always on point !!!
the kings were so good when i was in middle school!
one of the most underrated big man to play the game, but will always be in that grant hill penny hardaway category of what couldve been if they were healthy long enough especially in their prime
How SMOOTH is this guy ! 👏
simply amazing
TAMPA LEGEND THANK YOU
You know Chris Webber alongside Fab 5 had one of the biggest cultural contributions which was the longer shorts.
#2 was amazing!
I miss old top 10 like this 💯
1 of the top PFs in the late 90s up there with Duncan n KG
he was my idol.
You gotta respect Chris webber
Def one of the premier players of his day and one of the greatest of all time
One of the most underrated PFs to ever play and was kind of robbed in 2002
some great moves in this video!!
chris was a stud.. gasol reminds be of him right now especially with the passes
He may not be the best PF, but he definitely belongs to the conversation of being one of the best PFs we've ever seen. I also think that the reason why he was so underrated because he spent a big portion of his career (at least before his devastating injury or during his prime) on irrelevant teams. I mean think about it, a big man who can post, have consistent mid-range jumpshots, are extremely explosive and can really pass, how many of them have we seen so far?
one of the best! ever!
I love the Kings commentator on #4!
My Favorite Power Forward... and second Point Forward... He is so underrated but 1997-2004 Chris Webber has a such a MVP class statictics ?! ...
Always liked C-Webb. Very cool guy and great even as a NBA Analyst. Sucks he never won a championship.
NBA legend right here folks
OMG #3 was awesome. I have to try it sometime.
My favourites -
10 - Hahaha
3 - Hahaha
2 - One of my favourite blocks of all time.
1 - I love using that behind the back move but I've never finished it with a dunk over Barkley!!
I'm a Laker fan but I can appriciate a great career even if he was a Sacramento King (if he was a Celtic, it would be another story).
Plus the great Phil Jackson as his coach with that nearly unstoppable triangle offense.
One of the best. Unfortunately his knee problems ended his career too early.
The purest PF in the history of the game ❤
Webber was a true Warrior. A true King.
My favorite basketball player of all time. Chris Webber.
i miss c webb too damn he was a beast in sactown i loved all those games against the lakers...god i miss when the kings were good haha
A true legend
So underrated. Needs to be in the hall.
@Alexwkj True enough. Look at other great centers like Mutombo and Mourning in the 90's. Besides having supreme numbers annually in blocking, they actually start transitions for their team by creating blocks that ends up with the ball on their teammates' hands.
Man, Webber was all-time...easily my favourite palyer
Two Words: Point Forward!!
10 was awesome
Number 4 and number 3 are sick!!!!!!!!!!!!
#2 was AWSOME!
nice video!
Number 3 was sick. Looked like some J-Will stuff right there.
Chris Webber was def an underrated player I loved watching him when he played for the Kings!
This man is SO awesome. CW

great player
Guy had a lot of mental blocks that kept him from shutting down the lakers all those years, but I still love him! Remember when he first came to sac, he was miserable haha. Had a whole team and fan base built around him, though.
