Liu Yifei is reading, not speaking. That's totally two different things!
She's reading out loud, but it's still considered speaking as long as you use your voice.
if anyone reads articles ,he'll speak fluently .right? I prefer to hear English without preparation..hah
@@maikelaoshi Speaking is an impromptu action without any visible hint. You know most Asians can read out aloud brilliantly but they easily get stuck in real conversation.
@@hou888daniel5 I've heard plenty of people reading out loud with terrible English. I used to read out loud with terrible Chinese too.

Some stars were just reading books or saying something they might have prepared or practiced before, which probably could not reflect their real English speaking. I prefer Part1. But would thank you for making this Part 2 as well.
That's just what I want to say!
Yes it's hard to find clips of them. But I can still tell their English level because of the high level words they read and excellent pronunciation. Someone with bad English will still be difficult to understand even when reading out loud. The most important thing I need is just to hear them speak. I think it would be the same for you listening to a non-native Chinese speaker trying to speak Chinese by reading book.
@@maikelaoshi I have to agree with you when you say that we can still evaluate non chinese speaker trying to speak chinese JUST by reading mandarin book. But it's just in pronunciation segment. But When it comes to fluency and confidence, I agree more with several of our friends' comments about. I also think the one with the script on her hand can automatically speak more fluently and more confidence. Because she knew for sure what she would be talking about.

以台灣人來說，口音就有很多種，因人因地而異，有人說國語很台味，有人說國語字正腔圓、口齒清晰。 日本人、印度人說英語很多也會用自己的口音來說，各國的人學習外語皆是如此。 除非很認真去模仿才有可能學的跟道地英語國家的人一樣好。 我看過賴世雄的講座，他能學印度人講英文、香港人講英文、台灣人講英文的方式，我學不來。 語言真的是很有趣的東西

Obviously, Liu Yifei came to the US, with her mother, when she started middle school. She claimed to be a US citizenship. She is now fluent in English.
Accent doesn’t mean the pronunciation is not good. Eddie Pang should get full stars!!

The more I watch the more I feel Mike graded them unfairly. I want to say Jay Chou is pretty in good, if you have watched his movie The Green Hornet, maybe his pronunciation is not great, but he's definitely fluent and has a great vocabulary！

i dont think reading off of books or saying a few sentences in a presentation, which you definitely prepared for, accurately defines their english skills
I think it's kinda unfair to give Liu Yifei a high score for her English. I mean she basically was just reading. That's so different than having a conversation.

I think the comparison it's not apple to apple. The one is reading a book/ or just followed the movie scripts. The other one make a interview on the spot...But all in all, I think Eddie Peng is the most fluent
But Chrystal Liu Is reading a book, the pronunciation is not bad at all but fluent and confidence you won’t be able to rate based on that

Liu Yifei, I feel is not very smooth. More like the flow is not there when she reads. Thumbs up for all these stars because I work with lots of immigrants including those who came here around 10, speaks very broken English. (Not even mentioning the written part). I did the opposite. Gave up Chinese (dad said I did not appear as bright to hand dual language so he had no high hopes), and later on picked up Mandarin in my 30s. Note: I am a Cantonese speaker. I find Mandarin so hard to pronounce but after 3 years I was able to communicate. It's always in one's best interest to learn a different language. It opens up your world and you truly understands more about other cultures.

It’s pretty funny that if it’s a native English speaker speaking Chinese, no one would ever judge their pronunciation and fluency.

I would rate Teacher Mike's Chinese five stared in terms of pronunciation, fluency and confidence. If he could speak Chinese like that as an American, all the Chinese could learn to speak English like him . Keep learning English, make China an equal of the USA in terms of English.lol.☺

Yao Ming's English was pretty good before he went to America. I don't believe he didn't know gramma and volcabulary before he went to the NBA locker's room. Moreover, I don't believe he can write an essay, but so what, he does't need to write by himself.

Pronunciation: you still have that “lao wai/yang ren/洋腔洋调“ when you speak so I’m gonna just give you 3 ⭐️ .
Fluency: You’re not using too much vocabulary when you speak so that would be a 3 ⭐️ for you too.
Confidence: Well, you definitely speak like you know everything so I would give you a full 5 ⭐️ for that.
