- "Blue Star" is the theme music of the television series, Medic, and was written by Victor Young and copyright on February 17, 1955 under the title "The Medic Theme." An instrumental version was also recorded by The Shadows in 1961. This version is somewhat slower, than that of the Shadows. Backing track by Pete Korving. Headphones recommended!

For me, "Blue Star", ever since "Radio Luxemburg ..... the station of the stars" time, has been an important part of The Shadows "signum". You give "Blue Star" another musical dimension.
And, .... yes, .... what is beyond the End of the Universe and eternity? Geoff, thank you for your musical releases that give us all endless musical enjoyment.

@@geoffers47 Hi, Geoff. That we "far away" in Sweden had a little "swaying" reception from Radio Luxembourg was perhaps not so strange, but that you in the UK had varied reception may seem strange. Over the years, I have always assumed that the UK at that time was considered a "main audience" and therefore had a good reception. Even for a 71-year-old, it is not too late to learn, so the question arises: - What is meant by "Horace Batchelor football pools add."? Was it a radio program on Radio Luxemburg? After about 10 days, I can now send many "healthy" greetings. Christer

Hi Geoff the slow speed makes it into a different song altogether from The Shadows version which was renowned for having one of Bruce's best rhythm lines and chord progressions.
I had no idea it came from the Medic Theme - It sounded lovely and dreamy at this speed , great sound and playing and a super BT from Pete.. All the best Phil

I have absolutely no memory of this American series in which however play great known actors (Boone, Crenna, Marvin, Bronson, Sargent, Vaughn, and so many others). Maybe it was broadcast before I was born and wasn't so successful in France that it was never broadcast again. I saw the title and thought "That's a bit quicker paced tempo than Geoff normally does..." Lo and behold, upon clicking on it, this slower, dream-like tempo took me by surprise but absolutely adheres to your more familiar approach and it takes on a more romantic quality, suitable for a love scene in a romantic film, as opposed to the medical drama it was actually composed for. This is a super post, my friend, with two thumbs up from me !!!

One of my favourite Shadows numbers Geoff .I did remember when Shads did it that it was an old song .
Yes a tad slower but I like it .You are flying high this morning ( we have snow too !!!! ) not sailing the North Atlantic . This is for me your best this year ( I think ) so it`s going to get top marks . Your new Strat is playing fantastic , great buy , fabulous rendition .
