Good times, thanks for letting us do this Mark. Your great interviewer skills made this a lot easier than I was expecting. I know you’re a mario guy but I hope you had as much fun as we did.
Wow, there's a lot of haters in this comment section.... I enjoyed this. It's interesting actually hearing a speed runners perspective about the tough parts and what it's like doing a speed run. It's more or less a foreign concept to me, cause when I play any game, my brain screams at me to get 100%, so I'm super slow at advancing. Ignore the haters guys. Good video.
it's also kind of hard to play and keep 2 different kill counts in your head while speaking or making weird laughing noises. Thanks for the feedback, i'll remember that next time i play in a marathon or an event.
I usually play on the original console and a crt tv. Original hardware with good controls and no input lag is the only way to go for me. It’s far better than any other way that I have tried. Nes>emulator>nes mini>Wii u vc. Anything on hdmi has a bit of a delay and it’s hard for me to react properly because I’m not used to the timing. The mini added another layer of complexity with a wonky controller. You can see link zig zagging a lot and that is not intended.
Well considering I have been gaming since 1980 (I was born in 1974), probably before you were born, I think my opinion is pretty valid. Especially more than yours and most of IGN's staff who weren't even born yet either.
beating the game like this is significantly harder than doing it "properly" by doing everything in order and getting items and powering up. you can have your preferences, but in the end you're just someone going "hey, you're playing this game in a way I don't like, you're not allowed to have fun in a way I don't like!"

A classic game.. Without past games; we wouldn't have gotten this far. Games like this inspired other developers.
Zelda randomizer makes this game endlessly enjoyable. 30 years later I still play through it every few months and enjoy it every time
The fake laugh put me off lol.
yeahhhh sorry about that, I never do stuff like this. I was fairly uncomfortable :P

As the magic of my early childhood meets the practicality of adulthood. Holy hell that was cool.
i loooove the legend of zelda❤
Now do it with rock band controller
Now do the game and watch version
Is anyone else having this problem? I keep choosing 1080p but the video quality still looks terrible
Who wants to see them do a 100 percent speedrun on this game and Botw ?
There are a lot of 100% runners. Check out agdq 2018 to see a 100% race with some of the best runners in the game.
Steven Coles Okay.
Why has IGN been uploading so many speedruns videos lately?
JoshenBits Because they're fun?
Is this on the NES? Or is it on an emulator?
Never mind. I heard you say it was on the NES Mini.

How is my question
Legend Of Link?
Why doesn't Mark know anything basic about this game? Ugh smh.
Shut that commentary up!
Man...😱😱😱👍👍👍🤣
Great Memories, too bad it doesn't hold up today :(
I want this game remastered in 3d.
Its called breath of the wild dude
MF Doom Bullshit it doesn't hold up. I've recently started playing it for the first time. Easily one of the most fun games I've played.
MF Doom 3d games typically age worse than 2d games
StockLilves get your fanboy goggles off, this game is unplayable nowadays.
mostly that is not the case, most of the 2000-2004 era 3d games still hold up.
Jheheheheh
Wow and 2nd

Using cheats and glitches make this speed run invalid. Try again!
Not if it's Any % category.
icewolf1974 Thanks for your expert opinion!

Glitches and cheats are the only way to speedrun Zelda games
