What about Nein? I see people perform and action then get the stress and because of his ability remove it than take another action? How does Nien get two actions, Or is the Pattern analyze action a free action, and if you have a way to clear it then you get to take an action in the action step?
The difference is that Adv. Sensors places a restriction on you that prevents all further actions during that activation after completing that first action. Pattern Analyzer does not. If they kept to the original printing of the card, which says you just skip your Perform Action step, then you would be able to do a linked action. The confusion seems to come from players that interpret the "1" or "one" as a hard restriction, when it's not.
Gunners? If your ship has a gunner in the gunner slot does it get an extra shot along with their abilities or are they just extra crew members? What comes to mind is seventh fleet gunner.
I have notice that one of the most common issues to come up is closest point to closest point. Can you do a quick video on how to determine closest to closest?
The obstacle effects (stress, possible crit) happen before the PA window. Also the obstacle still impedes your movement actions as normal, you don't get to ignore the obstacle without some other card or effect. But if none of those things stop you, yes you can.
Great video Dion, but you forgot to answer the most important question arising from the use of Pattern Analyzer... Can you K-Turn off the board and then boost back on?
From the rules reference: A ship flees if any part of its base is outside the play area after it executes a maneuver. A ship that flees is removed from the game. • While a ship moves, the ship does not flee if only the template is outside the play area. • Before a fleeing ship is removed from the game, the only effects it resolves before being removed from the game are effects that trigger when it flees. Good question. Pattern Analyzer says "WHILE you execute a maneuver" while the rules for fleeing state "AFTER it executes a maneuver" Interesting...
Hey Dion, love your content! It has been very helpful as I have just recently taken up X-Wing. I have a question regarding the gunner Han Solo for Scum faction. When can you use his ability? The card says before you engage, so is that anytime before you engage during that turn?
Thanks! Engaging only means when it’s a ships turn during the engagement phase (shooting part of the turn). So scum Han Solo gunner is able to be used before the ship you have it equipped to measures or declares their attack. Note: you can be used even if you don’t have something in your arc to shoot.
Like many others have said. Your videos have been quite helpful in understanding the game. THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you very much for your content, man!

What about advanced sensors is the same case?
That's what I'm saying! There's so many "hard rules" and then exceptions I can't keep a consistent application in my head.

Please a Quicktips on how the force power Sense works. When can you measure, do you have to spend the force before you measure?
If you complete your red manuver onto an obstacle, can you use pattern analyzer to boost/barrel roll off?

Can pattern analyzer over rocks and gas clouds, but not debris.
Works over debris too, you'll just get double stressed.
I disagree. You get the stress (and possible crit) before the Pattern Analyzer action opportunity.
Dat snazzy new haircut lookin good!
How about talking about Cluster Missiles

Interesting...
What hahah bro you fly off the map youre done, blown up, boom. your ship doesnt get actions if it flies off the board with its maneuver
What goes away first a strain or a stress
Im pretty sure you choose, if not both at the same time. im not 100% sure though.
Both state that you lose one of it after a blue maneuver, so you lose one strain and one stress.

love me some QD PA action!
Does that action rule also apply to advanced sensors?
no, as advanced senors includes text that says you may not perform any other actions this activation.
Quick tip combo = Perceptive copilot + Jyn + lando= FOCUS AND EVADE?
Quick tip Rigged cargo
pattern analyzer the poor mans advanced sensors
