They could have easily fit the $2.2 million question in this episode, but I think they used filler material because they wanted to get a better rating for the next episode in case anyone wanted to go on. They probably knew that Daniel wanted to go on. I’m also not sure the producers were sure on the rules for that last question, because there was never a time limit until that question. There was always a chance to change one answer, but Dan didn’t get that chance. There was no terminator because only one player chose to go on, and there was also no buy-out option after the third correct answer:
I don't mind them holding off on the $2.2 million decision for the following week, despite there being enough time for it at the end. But HOW they held it off with the deliberate wasting time was quite annoying. Because for all that, they could've just made the commercial breaks a little longer to fill the hour timeslot! I would've preferred that to the unnecessary stalling. I agree with you that the producers may not have been clear on what their own rules were because one, Chuck said Dan had 30 seconds to look at the question and decide what his answers would be yet there was no clock on screen, something that would be rectified when they ended the February episodes with the Million Dollar Moment stunts. One thing I'm not personally clear on though: if Dan would've gotten all four correct answers on that $2.2 million question, would he have gotten the whole $2.2 million by himself? Or just $400,000? Because Curtis and Melissa each took home $410,000 a piece but that was their individual cut of the $1 million pot. Dan came into it with $200,000. So would they have doubled it to $400,000 if he'd won the question? I guess they'd have divided it depending on who else stayed.
@@hiltonlive32grnrngr Good questions. Unfortunately, we’ll never really know the answers because no one else went for the final question the rest of the series. I thought Chuck made it sound like Daniel would have won the full $2.2 million if he had gotten all four answers correct since he was the only one playing, but as you said, both Curtis and Mellissa won $400,000 plus $10,000 each for a terminator win. So that would have added up to $3,020,000 in total winnings for that team if Daniel had gotten the question right, which doesn’t seem right.
Dude, the difficulty level of the questions have nothing to do with Greed's mid-summer cancellation and I explained to you in another video the REAL reason why Greed got cancelled so just STOP IT!

LOL at Chuck saying over and over they’d be the first to give away $1 million. But wasn’t that the $1 million chance of a lifetime and I think 1986? Although to be fair… And this is a fair criticism of that show you couldn’t win the million dollars in one go it took I think at least three days. Then the California lottery shows with no skill whatsoever I think had given away 1 million before this but I don’t know on that… UK lottery shows are far superior to anything the US ever put out for a lottery show. I forgot about Winning Lines. I was glad to see that writen up in the comments. I loved the UK version that was on for a while. Chuck gave them the category then told them to think on it. If it wasn't just showmanship and they really got to leave the studio to think it over they could have studied up on the category.

@@svin7987 I am right. For the sake of TV the producers wanted it to seem like the gameplay was happening live when in reality it was taped a few weeks beforehand. Tom Galloway who was a contestant the same episode of Dan Avila's $2.2 million fail confirmed it was all taped the same day.
The $1,000,000 question on dead celebrities who died before reaching their 30th birthday was extremely hard I only got 2 right my answers were 1. James Dean 2. Buddy holly 3. Chris Farley 4. Lou Gehrig If was the captain on this episode I would’ve took the $500,000

And the idiot because of his wrong answer in the Terminator round.
the last two questions were so easy lol
also curtis is a legend. i wonder where’s he now.
The $500,000 question on famous foods about cheese in the year 1998 was really tough my answers were
1. Cheddar
2. American
3. Mozzarella
4. Parmesan
I knew Brie was not one of them same with port wine I’m not a cream cheese kinda person but that was my next guess plus I thought for sure Parmesan was one of the answers cause I have good friend of mine who’s dad owns an Italian restaurant and uses a lot of Parmesan cheese for a lot of his foods at his restaurants
I'm not really a Cream Cheese kind of person myself either. I had a hard time between Cream Cheese and Parmesan. I knew that Cheddar, Mozzarella, and American were correct right off the bat.
@@robbyosborne9708Also for the following 2 Questions, I would have guessed the following 4.
Won Oscar For Best Picture
1: The Godfather
2: The Godfather, Part II
3: The Silence Of The Lambs
4: Raging Bull
Dead Before 30
1: Joan Of Arc
2: Janis Joplin
3: James Dean
4: Lou Gehrig
Jackie was my favorite player on that whole team. I was so mad Curtis eliminated her from the game before the $1 million question. Since she said she was a historian i would've thought she would've easily nailed that Teddy Roosevelt question. Very heartbreaking to see her lose her money to that spikey-headed bastard, Curtis!
Melissa returned for the Million Dollar moment but Daniel Avila beat her, and just like his $2.2 million question he lost.
@@cutemimi25 wrong, that was melissa
@@leandean100 Really, I could've sworn it was Jackie.
@@cutemimi25 Melissa and Curtis returned for the MDM at the end of the February 11 show, Dan and Jackie returned for the MDM at the end of the Losers episode. Dan beat Jackie at that
@ Anna Loveberry Babycakes I hate to break it to you Anna, but in order to win big money, sometimes you got to play dirty. And I hate to say it, but I don't think Jackie would have helped the team that good. Then again, maybe she would've been able to answer correctly if Curtis decided to have mercy on her and not challenge her. Unfortunately, we'll never know.
Melissa could get it
They definitely and literally gave this show a run for its money... especially Daniel!!! He stood alone against the tower of Greed....and was just ONE correct answer away from $2.2 million
Why this show would've continued many years come, and I liked the music background? It makes no sense.
FOX is to blame for the cancelation.
cutemimi25 since Millionaire is cancelled after 2019, there’s a chance it could come back since ABC is going to be without a game show now.

35:55 they won the million dollars
I'm surprised when the Terminator landed on Curtis that he chose to challenge Jackie instead of Melissa...who didn't seem too quick on the draw on the first Terminator (won by default) and considering she had double the $$$. If Curtis eliminates Melissa, he takes home $800,000 instead of $400,000 (granted he beats her and same choices are made). I guess he went after the blonde...
The reason that Melissa had the most money is what pisses me off even more that he went after Jackie instead because really liked her. Curtis could've had $800,000! Fans of Greed seem to really like Curtis. Well... i sure as hell ain't on that list! I strongly dislike that guy.
@@hiltonlive32grnrngr I see it a lot where the person goes after the person that doesn't have the most money...I guess they see weakness and go after the person they feel they have the best chance of beating. Ya I do feel bad for Jackie, but I think they did bring her back for a Million Dollar Moment so she got a 2nd chance (she lost to a buzzer beating question to qualify for it).
@@hiltonlive32grnrngr I can understand that you dislike him, but the thing to understand is that he did play fairly. Also, I think that he challenged Jackie because he felt that Melissa didn't deserve to be challenged after what she went through during the challenge against James.
Just for the sake of argument, he would've had 600,000, not 800,000. His 200, and her 400. Plus, he probably knew Melissa was smart, given she got the tough answer previously. He needed Melissa around in order to have a shot at the next one.
@@GatsbyCioffi True with the $600K not $800K...and agree with you but I'd still go for the extra $200K...interesting choice he made but ya you're probably right at the end of the day...

Yeah, I'm guessing team commentary during the question is illegal, but facial expressions are fine
In the Danish version they may express if they know a given answer is wrong.
7:08 I remember three of them have died recently, but heard of each of them while they were alive.
Did Curtis know the wrong answers or the right answers to the $1,000,000 question? You could see after Buddy Holly he pumps his fist, then after Harry Houdini you can see him say “that’s wrong”
Yeah I think curtis knew this question as well
He said in an interview he knew the 4 answers

It's stupid, the terminator chooses some randomly. It's more stupid you can be chosen by it more than once unless all remaining team members have been chosen. Each team member should have a bonnum to press to stop the terminator instead.

Why does the announcer voiceover sound like Optimus Prime?
That's just his voice! I actually like Mark Thompson's voice because it sounds creepy and fits the style of this show. It's kind of sexy too. I love it!
Every tribe I watch this episode, I play the Lion King ending song every time they win. Thus, I call it “The Lion King Triumphants episode.” 🥰😅

Watching this and @17:07 Melissa is biting her lips clapping I'm like hmmm 😍🤔
what the hell
34:29 Production mistake: you hear Daniel laughing and the camera displaying a different moment..
ComPaq lmfao
Dana would get it

LOL at Chuck saying over and over they’d be the first to give away $1 million. But wasn’t that the $1 million chance of a lifetime and I think 1986? Although to be fair… And this is a fair criticism of that show you couldn’t win the million dollars in one go it took I think at least three days. Then the California lottery shows with no skill whatsoever I think had given away 1 million before this but I don’t know on that… UK lottery shows are far superior to anything the US ever put out for a lottery show. Some of their great games… I’ll shut up now about that And the first US WWTBAM millionaire was one week later? November 99. Still. Greed is my favorite of the million dollar craze shows. I forgot about Winning Lines. I was glad to see that writen up in the comments. I loved the UK version that was on for a while. I think we only got like three episodes in the US. 21 was a great game but I thought a little too easy. Millionaire I didn’t like. I mean compared to the others. It’s still a fine game. These games taught me so much more than school ever did. It was my favorite drug as a 10-year-old.
Chuck gave them the category then told them to think on it. If it wasn't just showmanship and they really got to leave the studio to think it over they could have studied up on the category.
The two episodes were both filmed/taped the same day. They probably had Chuck and the players change their clothes to make it look like they'd left then came back lol because it was the end of the episode.
