The first thing I thought about when considering "Update All" was "What if one of these plugin updates breaks something on the site?" I'm really glad you covered updating individual plugins, creating a backup version, and how to restore it to the previous version if needed.
Hi Jacob, I have the same problem with "Update All". I only ever use Update All when I've made a full backup of the website. 99% of the time everything will be fine. It's the 1% I'm worried about. In the distant past I experienced the 1% more than once and it's not the best experience.
I'm happy I could help! Hopefully your plugins will start updating in your WP dashboard again. It would be a pain to have to do it manually every time.
one of my client some request to see over his old wordpress site which have been update for 3yrs, elementor was used..., i basic update things and fix error but as soon as i update elementor site completly crashed.... so what could suggest be on this error, problem is with elementor only
That's a real problem. My feeling is the Elementor plugin codebase used to create the site initially is now so outdated that installing the new Elementor plugin with its up-to-date codebase breaks everything. Elementor has a repository of all their old plugin releases, you could update them manually one at a time and see which of Elementor updates breaks and maybe figure out why based on the release notes for that plugins. A full rebuild is the other option I can think of.
I don't have a video for that, but there is at least one plugin. The plugin I know of is created by WooCommerce, so you know it'll work well with your store, but it's also on the pricier side I think: $49/year.
Hello, I have a question on this topic. I have been looking for a plugin for a long time that can install or update plugins on several sites at once using files, manually. that is, we go to the administration panel, select the sites that we want to update, upload our plugin file, for example, and it, in turn, is loaded onto all selected sites. Perhaps someone has encountered this problem and has already found a solution, I would be very grateful! Thank you!
Elementor is so buggy. I don't update it without having done a complete backup with a migration tool. It happens so often that something doesn't work anymore after updating this Elementor Pro crap, especially CSS. Updating other plugins/themes like Divi or Avada always works fine by just a mouse klick.
I can tell you enjoy showing what you know, but you go to fast and do not show in detail what you are doing. example, you are showing that elementor pro is in a holding file, but you do not show what I should look for, and what you are deleted, when you change the wording to remove elementor pro from the holding file. Just try going a little slower and explain more of what you are doing.

Good content! Helpful
Cool, thanks for watching!
What if the old plugin had customization, and in order not to loose it, yet still install the updates, what would be the right way to proceed ?
If I update plugin like that, it saves my settings from the prevous version?
Yes, the settings for your plugin are saved in the WP database not in the plugin files. This manual method of updating just updates the plugin files.
Thanks !
You’re welcome and thanks for watching!

Nope, I don't have videos for that yet.

I haven't had many issues with Elementor updates, but backing up your site before updates is always a smart move!
👍
Thanks!
