A shoot 'em up that starts out well enough, but the difficulty curve spikes well beyond anything approaching playable a few levels in.
Although it's visually attractive, the relatively realistic depictions of World War II battlefields and general thematics left me feeling a little conflicted; it didn't feel appropriate to turn the subject matter into a coin-op arcade game. - เกม

The amount of paralax is excellent
The funny thing is, that pretty much every enemy is a type of German and Japanese vehicles and craft, some are rather obscure. Even the markings and camo are more or less correct. It had to be made by a proper enthusiast.
Not sure about the helicopters though there were a number of them on each side.
@@dansmith1661 I'm not sure about the Avro Lancaster at the end of stage 3 either. Not sure the UK supplied those to Imperial Japan!
@@dansmith1661 the helis are modern and the Japanese heavy bomber in the Berlin mission looks like an Allied one, other than that everything is spot on.
@@mathewoakley2588 just took a glimpse through Axis History Forum and the Germans did capture some. Nothing about the Japanese, so yeah- that one's a mistake too.

First, I can only imagine how many quarters this thing ate from players with such relentless enemies (especially given that the boss attacks are small white spots, basically, hard to see given how everything is demanding a player's attention).
Second, while the seriousness of World War II can never be overstated, that should not preclude people from telling stories either based on elements of the war or on armed forces in general. I can and do fully understand the horrors of the Holocaust even though I very much enjoy Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and Mel Brooks's To Be or Not To Be. Having a fairly-accurate video game depicting flight missions during the Second World War can be celebrated both as a form of art (video games) and as a depiction of history.

I think we all know it was a couple of P-38s that sank the Yamato. This interactive historical documentary conflicts mightily with CAPCOM’s efforts.
Normandy is in France, not Spain.
I remember waiting Mame after Mame until this game was properly emulated. As for the subject, everything becomes a game, specially Vietnam, Gulf, Iraq, etc. In the end war was and always will be a profitable business for few people.
