Got that done yesterday... Not bad at all , I was 100% awake ....very safe . You shouldn't have to worry , get it done , you wont regret it . I did go to : Vanish advanced vein trearment in Oak Creek WI . ❤️
one question. so if he is cutting and pulling out vein. What happen at the end of veins? does he plug end of veins? or he reconnect them to other veins? I am just confused how blood that used to go through that vein does not just bleed into tishue. Thanks
@glen7988just had it done this morning with an RFA as well. They gave me propofol, ketamine, midazolam and a prescription for 5 hydromorphone. Ive had had zero pain.
Since all varicose veins (without exception) are rooted in reflux , somewhere, between superficial & deep veins system, your video did point out to location of reflux sources, which must be treated before attempting to remove secondary superficial varicosiieis, As you know, ignoring reflux sources, mean recurrence of varicose veins, sooner or later, in 100% of cases. It is logical to alway fix sources of reflux before doing phlebectomy on secondary superficial varicosities. And again , as you know, all reflux venous ultrasound studies must be done with the patient in standing position to be more accurate. Perforator veins usually do not light up in color duplex in supine position. Thanks.
Treating the underlining reflux with evlt or RFA or any other means and then phelebectomy.. your closing a large vein that blood has to go somewhere how do u know that the other veins are capable bof handling increased blood flow?? Isn't this why after these treatments there are so many more varicose veins?? Like a Domino effect? I'm concerned about that the cost of doing this procedure just to be temporary
@@bowtech1020because the insufficient vein is causing higher pressure in the other veins. Burning it allows for better flow. Remember the issue is bad valves. The body sends the same pressure down but because the blood just falls back down, the legs build pressure, causing dilation and more spider veins. Since these veins are redundant, not having them is fine.
I was told for this phelebectomy it's under general anesthesia and it is done in a hospital. And that I need an EKG done before. I still don't understand why it has to be under anesthesia?
excuse my dumb question, for a person that is suffering from severe varicose veins and you have to perform phlebectomy on multiple veins vessels, can a person develop insufficient oxygenation to certain tissues around the leg ? or would that even matter because they are veins and not arteries? just curious
What State are you located in? I really need this as the untold numbers of skylartherapy even varitheina did absolutely nothing and its only on my left leg the outer lower part one long line and a small cluster in the back .
Is this a safe procedure? I get mine done in a few weeks and am terrified. I opted not to go under anesthesia and am instead taking a Valium and will be awake, which doesn't make me feel any better
@@nancyvargas101 great! I had it done July 5th so I'm almost 2 months post op. The only scary part was that night after my surgery one of the incisions decided to just GUSH blood. It was coming out in a steady stream. But after lying on the floor with my leg propped up for twenty it stopped. Also I'm still suffering from pitting edema like i was pre-op but oh well, at least my legs look pretty! Lol Did you have the surgery or are going to?
@@joshywoshylemonsquashy it went well! The worst part to me was wearing the dang leg wraps the first 24-48 hours afterward, they were very cumbersome. I also developed a "bleeder" the night after the surgery, where I suddenly had blood literally pouring from one of the tiny incisions, but thankfully they had warned me of that possibly happening so I knew what to do (elevate leg for 20 minutes with compression) and it stopped soon enough. All in all it went fairly well, and I was never in much pain and was able to function normally the day after. Good luck!!!!
Doctor if I had a larger vein injected and it now closed and calapsed but shows dark under the skin, can it be stripped or is their a procedure to make it change color? Injected etc ? Thank you
@@marcellahdez it took me a month to recover. I still have some bulging veins. New ones maybe. Really annoying. Had it done before covid bullshat break out. I feel like since this town is small. I should emphasize once again that you never pointed out to sources of reflux and did not show how you treated the sources of reflux. Superficial varicose veins do not pop up on their own. The way you did the quick ultrasound scanning was very rushed. SFJ/GSV & SPJ/SSV should have been thoroughly evaluated first. By the way, as expected surgeons, generally, are not good with sclerotherapy because it takes longer to get good at sclerotherapy and needs a special time devotion that usually surgeons are not able to implement. All these veins could easily be treated by proper foam sclerotherapy (Much easier and faster and without scars). Phlebectomy for tiny shin veins?! Please get training in sclerotherapy from someone who knows.
Curious do you work in surgery? I had this done today and work with the surgeon that did it. They do the reflux study prior weeks/months prior. Some places do the RFA months before the stabs. Some patients just want the stab phlebectomy to save money, my surgeon gave me the option and explained the same thing about taking care of the cause. I guess I don't understand why you're so opinionated on this.
Very cool video! I had this done back in december and my legs have never looked so good! My doctor took out 29 sections of vein. Thanks!

The artery supplies blood while veins do the drainage as varicose veins are superficial they are not that important for cell survival

It's more of an issue with CO2 and metabolites left in the tissue which can create sclerosis. The procedure will correct that.
Can lymph nodes be damaged from evlt or phelebectomy? How would that be avoided?

Curious if that improved, it's supposed to take a few weeks. Also my doc keeps the dressings on for 72 hours.

There's not a lot of blood pressure in veins.
