safari body needs to modified for offloading and the vehicle is extremely heavy ..
Fortuner didn’t played fair . Others cars came almost in off-road but when the Fortuner came near the top , the car was half in mud and half on solid ground from its right . It is 4 wheel drive because of which the car got support. If they would have given half n half to Safari also , it would have also done off-roading.

@5:00 v cross making me fan of itself day by day, awesome suspension. Make tough road drive with ease. BUt i still think Fortuner is king of offroad in Indian market.

I like safari alot..i am a die hard fan of the beast..i have got a safari storme vx400(4X2)...but i am very much disappointed with the interior that safari holds..sir i would like to know whether it is possible to fit any kind of infotainment system+navigation setup externally apart from the onboard music system

Mostly Peacocks, but a couple of sparrows too. These hills have a very healthy bird population, multiple kinds.

Safari is just like elephant kid. Too heavy and lethargic. Ironman fortuner, thar and v-cross are simply stunning.
Yashveer Rathore both the Safari & the Fortuner has almost identical kerb weight. Safari does have the advantage of torque. Doesn't understand how it gets let down though.
Rajath, there are a lot more variables that influence off road performance, torque to weight ration is not the only criteria. Anyways FYI Fortuner is few hundred kilos lighter than Storme, and also it has much higher peak power output. That 400nm torque figure sure sounds impressive on paper but does it tell you the engine has bad turbo lag before 2000 rpm, while the Fortuner starts pulling well from 1200rpm and stays in power band till 4000rpm.
Rajath N, Safari is certainly heavier than Fortuner (forget stock Fortuner, even mine with so much extra weight is lighter than Storme). Lousy suspension setup of Storme is the culprit here.

Stock Thar is simply the best off roader IMHO, all you need is right driver behind the wheel, 4H-2 should be an easy walk for thar with MLD

Anshuman Bishnoi yupp.. best is used in a relative term (indian context) for stock off roader available in this country for that price range.

Fortuner being based on Toyota hilux is simply better engineered for off-road conditions. I also love all the mods on your Toyota. Storme, I will say betters the Toyota, when it comes to on-road ride quality but off-roading isn’t its core strength, although it can be achieved with thoughtful modifications.

isuzu is the twin brother of chevy.... and chevy's are always dominant in terms of power..... trailblazer has 500 nm torque and 200 bhp .... isuzu too has the same.... the engine is too powerful
+chirag mohanty It shares platform and parts but noways a twin brother, and 2.5 engine is no comparison to Trailblazer engine. Sorry but your sweeping generalization isnt correct.
The V-400 gives up, yet again. In fact, this time, it could not even reach the point the Scorpio without MLD did. I really wonder if it makes 400NM or are we staring at a TorqueGate from TML??!!
That said, the Scorpio with the MLD would have cleared this as easily as the V-Cross did, but with a bouncier cabin.
Even the Storme would have cleared with MLD, just that Tata service guys do void the warranty on MLD installation, while Mahindra service centers do install MLD for you. We all know how risky a Safari without warranty is.
Lack of power or torque is not a problem with either of the vehicles here on this obstacle, it sure is sometimes on long steep sandy climbs with deflated tyres where one has to take 3rd of Low, thats where the difference in power delivery in Storme 400 and Scorpio is clearly evident.
is the blue scorpio running conti cross contact AT ? also i heard at the beginnnig of the video someone mentioned deflating tyres... so to what pressure do u normally deflate ?
Scorpio had Pirelli Scorpion ATR. All cars were running normal tyre pressure, a fair comparison for all.
i know u didn't deflate...but lets say i get stuck somewhere...to what pressure can i drop to get unstuck ..?
Reducing the tire pressure is a function of terrain and obstacle both. There is no particular set tire pressure.

Bro thar dl 4x4 vs thar crde 4x4 which one is better please do reply I'm about to buy one of them
Thar DI has now got a CRDI pump on the same engine, the power and torque figures are same as old DI. Thar DI has Solid Front Axle, which is more robust and offers better articulation & strength off road but on road its bad to drive.
Front Suspension on CRDe is independent type, which offers much better on road ride and handling. Overall CRDe is a better choice unless you want to do extreme offroading.

I have faced weak low end torque on start/stop. Something like under powered when start from stand still on a hill with 2H. I have to play with clutch n accelerator to make it crawl. But it never happen on 4L or 4H.
Any suggestions?
This particular V Cross has Racechip tuning box, not that it makes any significant impact.
Are you talking about power dip in the hills? There should not be any change in 4H.
If you want to boost Torque and Power, get some good remap, VCross is underpowered for its size.
Yep, you are right... Is the DieselTronic or Pete's ICU will make any difference?
Diesel Tronic is good, I have been using it in XUV for more than a year now. But V Cross needs more serious power upgrade, go for remap, Pete's, TuneOtronic, Code6 are some good ones I know of.
You guys don't have the shoes/ tyres for this type of drill 235 will not work need 265 and above...need MT not HT tyres....
