OMG YES !!!! I was wondering where David Benedek had gone.... Man thank you. I still listen the Robotfood, Afterbang & Lame movie soundtracks whenever I go ride or run trails. These movies were filled with proper bangers and at the same time made it all about having tons of playful fun while riding with friends. This is revealing of my age but heck if I care Thank you Mr Benedek & Crew !
Maybe my favourite episodes, along with Mikey's. Very modest but also funny. It was great to see someone with a bit more depth beyond snowboarding, someone that's well reflected and conscious. Thanks folks. And thanks David!
💰 Have to say between the music, editing, and shredding, Robot Food videos are the best. Will always represent the hay-day of snowboarding in our minds.
"Is it fun? Yeah, I think its great times. I think... I think a lot of times umm. no matter what you do no matter how good or great it is. If you do something a lot you always kind of lose perspective for how good it actually is and um it usually happens when you get hurt and you can't snowboard you realize how fun it actually is. I am having a great time. I am still having as much fun as I did when I started snowboarding." - David Benedek The words that changed my life the first time I watched Afterlame and set me on a path to pursue snowboarding as a lifestyle.
Bombhole RTTW Trivia in ten years: "Which ONLY EVER snowboard pro responded to his first ever hit of smelling salt with "Hmmm, this is nice!"?" - David Benedek is the best! The cap construction Salomon Prospect around 2000 felt like it was miles ahead of any board on the market. I had two... I was bummed when they went sidewall. The edge grip on the cap version was off the chain... Great guest, B-Hole! Well done!!
My first board was a Salomon 155 David benedek . It came with a marker and had connect the dot for different graphic drawings . Lost it while moving unfortunately, been looking for one to pop up on the web . Much love David ! Great pod legend !
Cannot emphasize enough to watch the Robot Food trilogy and bonus section videos linked in the show notes. Whether it's your first time watching Robot Food or you had note paper with all the bonus feature short cuts tucked in the DVD case the videos are such a great time captures of timeless snowboarding and what went into snowboarding in the early 2000s
It should be acknowledged that Parker was also doing a perfect Cool Boarders video game cruising impression, I’ll call it, during the green screen skit. Perfect impression.
Man. David Benedek is such a wise, funny, interessting and wonderfull person. Back in the day he was such an insperation for me. Love this dude. Love this podcast. Love snowboarding. Keep up the good work guys!
I love that he gave a shout out to an Austrian legend, Steve Gruber. David Benedek was really pushing technical snowboarding for several years. I love the vibe of all Robots Food films.
Have been so anxious for this. David is the man, robot food days were so good. I remember seeing him land the first double cork in a pipe, no one spoke of it, was in a magazine too.
I Love hearing th OGs talk about how coming on here and vibing in Utah reconnects them to snowboarding. Heard it with JP, now David. That's should speak volumes about what this platform does for snowboarding.
We all connected because RF came across as a group of friends having fun. Truly inspiring. Plus the fresh music- so different. I was living with etree when you guys all stayed there to film After bang. So fun to chat with you in the kitchen there, and Jussie’s boots reeked so bad ha ha. Good times.
Great interview David! Miss ya buddy ;) ... I owe you for letting me crash at your place all those years ago in Munich. If ever coming through Seattle, give me a call 🤜
So funny: The Burton two tongues story reminds me of a situation during the Swisspo (Swiss trade show) back then. A Buddy approached an Atlantis board and said deadly serious: «That's the answer to snow.» Nice chat guys! And a great shout-out at the end, David!
bring ENGELSMAN on! he had proper nowadayish rail style already back in the 90s. JP looked clumsy on rails sidebyside to e-tree, a 2 meter guy with clickers!!
@@Yomanchamcru im with you. i meant in comparision to etree. jp had the ducked square 90s railstyle while etree already had the modern upright one. he was a prototype of modern street riding while jp was a total pioneer and innovator
I was competing in that Vail Session when David did the double 12. It’s burned into my memory. Insane to see. Can confirm Andreas won that year. Sidebar… when they first opened the course for practice I was behind Andreas and he dropped a bs rodeo 9 first hit. Dude was on another level back then!
Lace the boots just to your ankles, tuck the pant legs behind the tongue, and voilà you for a trend that only lasted a month. It actually came back for a bit with Danny Kass’ double tongue Nike boots
I love that he doesn't recognize the second NTVP song, considering he has a kicker session in AK to it.
We gotta get you in the booth to explain the missing 900 clip amongst so many other things

David is an absolute legend of a shredder and a person. Thank you for everything.

Doesn’t look a day over 30. Looks great! Afterlame, afterbang inspired me to move to summit county when i turned 19. I turn 40 this month. Still here.

LEGEND! THANK YOU FOR THE ROBOT FOOD DAYS.
Boom! Great episode.
David is the best.
Have been so anxious for this. David is the man, robot food days were so good. I remember seeing him land the first double cork in a pipe, no one spoke of it, was in a magazine too.
Hopefully this episode with David relieves anxiety and brings excitement!
@@TheBombHole haha definitely! Thanks guys!!
Amzing episode! David so fun to listen too. Love the Java kindergarten cop reference too 😂
All time banter for this one! When do you want to hang out in the booth? 🤔
2007 Vail sessions
1. Andreas - bs rodeo 1080, bs 900, sw bs 900, fs 1080
2. Benedek - Double cork
3. Chas - FS 1260
Best contest I ever saw in person !

I've still got two Salomon Official snowboards - an 08/09 and 13/14. Best boards I've ever ridden. Wish Salomon would bring them back.
i'm dying laughing listening to that afterbang behind the scenes story. i remember finding that and thinking it was so funny

You take that back; JP has never looked clumsy on anything, least of all rails.

Is this a thing now, where Grendy just sends his guests off random cliffs at Brighton and tries to murder them? LOL.

I was one of those kids who bought into that! I was bummed
