    I can tell you that the Ancient Town and, particularly the Japanese Bridge, look exactly like they did in 1971 when I was there. I developed a taste for Vietnamese food when I was there and you had the foodie in me drooling. I am really enjoying the Viet Nam series of videos. It is taking me back to my youth without the explosions and bullets.

      @@dorf213 In Hoi An it was pretty quiet. The further west you got from Highway 1 (the main North-South route the more you got into hostile territory. The Hoi An you see in A+k's video is a lot cleaner and more commercialized. Anything you see catering to tourists or with bi-lingual signs was not there in 1971.

    I seriously love how honest you guys are. You'd managed to sneak into the old town without realising you'd snuck in, but much like us, as soon as you learnt you were meant to have paid, you went to find a ticket booth! I've heard the 'quick turn around times' in Hoi An for the tailoring of clothes come with a bigger price tag and make it more difficult to haggle down, but if you're based in Hoi Ann for a little longer, you have more bartering power and can get the price down a fair bit. Loved the hotel you guys stayed in. I thought I knew plenty about Hoi An but didn't know about the basket boats. The crab fishing from them was especially interesting. I would 100% rent bikes like you guys to get out to the beach! That countryside you cycled through was stunning, and then the beach was the cherry on top! REALLY loving your Vietnam series

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      haha they don't make the ticket booths very obvious! We didn't realize we needed it until we wanted to go into the Old House of Tan Ky. We're glad we were able to chip in for the preservation of the area!
      It would have been fun to get something tailored, we just don't have any room or need for anything.
      The crab fishing really surprised and delighted us!
      The bike ride was so gorgeous and fun! We love riding bikes and that was quite the place to do it!
      Thank you!

    In conclusion, Hoi An Memories Land offers a complete Vietnamese experience. From the enchanting show that delves into the country's history to the delicious cuisine and tranquil surroundings, it's a must-visit destination in Vietnam. I left with a deeper appreciation for this beautiful country and its heritage.

    Wow AGAIN!! Lots of thoughts ran through my head on this one: 1. Your aerial shots really help give us another perspective layer - thank you! Also, every time there's a drone shot, I find myself pausing the film to see where you are (other than the obvious ones). It's like playing "Where's Waldo?", but "Where's Adam and/or Kathryn?" :) 2. That annual flood comment of the Tan Ky house immediately made me wonder how they preserve things below those water lines. Pulley system - LOVE THAT!!! 3. Seemed like there were lots of professional photographers taking pictures of people with the city as a backdrop. Very cool! 4. In the basket boat ride area, you had an aerial shot of someone casting a net. Is there a particular fish they're hoping to catch? 5. How fun to ride bikes through rice fields and gardens!! 6. That last coffee spot looked divine, including the swing!!! Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us!!! Brought another smile to my face on a Sunday afternoon!

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha that's awesome! We love flying the drone whenever we can.
      The guy casting the net I think just does that for show for the tourists. That whole part of the boat ride had different stations the ride stopped at. The spinning boat, someone to take your photo, the guy casting the net, and a couple others. I'm sure they do fish out there though and I wonder what fish they're hoping to catch also!
      The bike ride was a ton of fun!
      Woohoo! Thank you!

    That bridge was incredible! I love when you can still interact with buildings or fixtures from long ago that are not only will standing but still used. That tea sounded amazing! I'm a coffee person too but I'd switch up for a day if I had access to that! Tan Ky looks like it was built in much more recent times, crazy how it's so well preserved still today. Especially with it being flooded so often! The scenery looks awesome! Night markets? That would be so fun! I feel like if you're seeing lots of locals at a place to eat that's gotta be the places to go to. Super curious to try mango and Nutella now, I honestly would've gone the banana and Nutella route if I were choosing blindly. I got exhausted just watching the spinning basket boat person! That's got to take a lot of core strength and dexterity! Adam seemed like he was doing his best to not get sick 😂. I'm not much for activities like the lantern making because social anxiety is heavy, but I would've been upset if I had the opportunity and then backed out. Your lantern looks great! It's so green on the bike ride it looks fake! So beautiful there! Many thanks for how you documented this place! Much love A+K!

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the history there was so amazing! We could drink that tea every day! So dang good! The night market was a ton of fun! Yes when you see locals eating at a place that's for sure going to be a good spot! The lantern making class was really chill! It was easy to keep to yourself and get help when needed. Thanks so much, Micheal!

    Great video, guys! You guys showed a lot of the activities that can be done there and found some great food and views. I think doing a cooking class, getting something small tailored (like a swimming suit), doing a food tour ("Steph and Pete" had a great food tour there), and riding the boats at night would have rounded out the whole experience...although I did see the MomDuty channel do a Jack Tran Tour that looked like a whole day of fun.

    Probably too late since you're too far up north now, but I think you'd have loved Da Lat (canyoning, Elephant Falls, Alpine rollercoaster, the Maze Bar, Crazy House, Clay Tunnel, etc.). If you're adventurous, do the all day or multi-day caving in Phong Nha (or you can just do the day tour to Paradise and Dark Cave). Hue has amazing food (do a food tour or go to that restaurant "Chase and Shelbs" went where they got a ton of great looking food that Hue is known for) and lots of ancient architecture as well as the abandoned waterpark with the coolest dragon (also saw CularTravels do a war history tour that was amazing there). Ninh Binh is a must with the dragon on top of the mountain, the boat rides, as well as a bird sanctuary and old architecture to explore. Wondering if you guys will be doing the Ha Giang Loop (if so, do the 4 day one so you can see everything)...and consider Ba Be Lake homestay and tour (saw a British couple do it and they said it was the best tour they've done).

    One of things I liked best about Hoi An was the kites! World class. 40 foot blue shall kites and the like. See by bike ride through the rice fields with workers sitting on the backs of water buffaloes.

    1ST Day in Hoi An.Absolutely love dogs. Yummy pork. Looks like a comfy bed and love your big room. Absolutely love the lanterns at night. When I go I will stay in the middle and across the river. For me Hoi An is all about the nighttime. I think you walked right by a hotel when you said this Dog wins for being the cutest. Yummy dinner. Banana pancakes win for me hands down. Outstanding Day 1.

      Yeah! Five years ago, the cheapest hotel I could find in Quebec city, Canada was $65 dollars per night. The room was small, old and dirty they did not even change a new bed sheet for me either. The price/quality ratio in the first world country is alarming.

    Wow, another great adventure !! Love the style and content of your videos. 1 question I have is how are you able to enjoy all the local drinks and ice? As a frequent traveler I have had to be careful with water especially in SE asia.

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The ice and drinks are made from filtered water. No one, including the locals can drink the tap water so they have to use filtered water. Thanks and thanks for watching!

    I loved your Hoi An video, the first of your videos that I've watched. My wife and I are planning Vietnam visit next Feb for 2 weeks and wonder how you dealt with food and water safety. For example, at Baby Mustard, Adam dipped the white crepe holder in water before wrapping around the crepe. Also, ice in beverages seems pretty common. Do you take any precautions regarding ice and salad/fruit consumption? We don't want to be overly concerned, but being in our 60s, want to avoid being knocked down for any time. Thanks for your feedback.

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Mike! The only real precautions we took with food was doing lots of research on food establishments. We only go to highly rated places on Google. The thing with water with food is that the locals could get sick just like we would if we drank contaminated water so they will serve clean water with food and for drinking. We never drank water our of the tap and bought bottled drinking water
      But one of the biggest keys is going to highly rated places and avoiding random street vendors
      Hope that helps!
      We have a TON of Vietnam resources on our website as well that could be helpful
