Brilliant, am I the only one that sits with a big smile when your on, honestly man never change, your a breath of fresh air Eddy, love the way ye say Falkirk and Kelpies 😂🤣🏴🙌
Live about 5 minutes from Falkirk and I’ve never been in the High Street for years ! It’s a shame that retail parks pull people away from town centres where they used to be the heart of a town . Great video as always 👍
The “Mountains” you refer to are ochil hills. Next time your in Edinburgh plan a trip to Dunfermline. Do you drive as it would be better to hire a car in Edinburgh then drive to Dunfermline and surrounding areas ! And the average price for houses in Falkirk is £165,000. Anywhere out of Edinburgh and Glasgow will have similar prices. So the painting is of a young man called James Mair. In 2017 he moved to Sussex and whilst working in Brighton he was working on a hotel roof and tragically fell of and died. So to remember him the father who owns the building it’s painted on had it painted in a way to remember him. His father Billy Mair who owns the building wanted something to remember him by.
You have made a great advertisement for Falkirk. Makes me want to go back. That was a great find down the Harry Potter shop and Bruno was the star of your show. Highlight of the first part of your travelogue, and more to come.
Eddy lad!. Always a good day when you upload. Hi-Fi is short for high fidelity, it's become short hand for a stereo system, those big old machines we used to play music on!. Cockburn is usually pronounced Coburn and yon statue is probably the old town cross, every place had a similar one in the town centres, usually where the markets were.
I love your enthusiasm when it comes to travelling up to Scotland. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your day in Falkirk and be blown away by the sight of the Kelpies. I love those statues they are stunning not matter how many times you see them. The Falkirk wheel is interesting too. Maybe you can visit Stirling one day in the future and visit the Wallace Monument (Braveheart). I think you would be interested in climbing to the top of it and seeing William Wallace’s broadsword. Take care 😘🏴
If you'd have swung a left by the High Flats you would have ended up in Callendar Park, with the remains of the Antonine Wall ditch & Callendar House - modelled on a French chateau. The 'church' you comment on is actually the Steeple, emblem of Falkirk. Diagonally across from Kings Court is Tolbooth Street, shortest street in Scotland. Coming from Falkirk it becomes habit to check anything made of cast iron when you travel to other countries - Carron Iron Company made a lot of Cannons - The Carronade was our invention.
@vixenplays6296 I had such a great time in Scotland that I decided to come back n stay.Im moving back in the spring, will be looking for work as a builder/scaffolder ❤
10:55 - The Battle of Falkirk, which claimed the life of Sir John the Graham, a prominent Scottish knight during the First Scottish War of Independence. He was the best friend and loyal lieutenant of Sir William Wallace.
If you had turned right when you arrived at the high street and walked doon a wee bit there's a plaque there (it's up quite though so you would probably have missed it) saying Robert Burns, the poet, slept here, way back in 1787 when it used to be an old inn. Just a wee fun cool fact.🙂
Eddy you should visit the wee toon just outside falkirk called bo'ness for the fair day on the 28th june, It's an early morning start and lasts all day
At the 18 minute mark. I remember about 20 years ago there was a dude who always sat around that area at ASDA across from the goose blasting his mix tapes from a Ghetto blaster. 😄
Just watching this after the kelpies video, Would have totally shown you around and cooked you some lunch! You passed by a couple of little things that not many know are there, just behind "Whimsic alley" in the tiny little churchyard, some of the leaders from the battle of Falkirk are burried there, So is William Wallace' best friend, the place where the company that makes Irn Bru started out is just around the corner and the park that I mentioned on the Kelpies vid, a couple of minutes walk up the hill. Hope you enjoyed your time up here!
Eddie go to West Coast, luss, Loch lomond, Tarbet, arrochar, rest & be thankful, straight up to oban, it's all in the same route absolutely beautiful trip & scenery, west is best good luck Eddie. 🏴🏴🏴
You can tell it's in the morning - all the folk are still upright... Seriously though, it's looking good for a basically dead town centre. Well done Falkirk!
Alright lad just a heads up that "Boabby" the barman from Still Game will be in Dundee this Saturday for two comicon style events. Wonder how many people say "ya prick" to him on the daily? Now's your chance to find out!
Falkirk is shite, trust me, I live here, there’s a reason everyone pissed off elsewhere 🤣 it’s got its upsides don’t get me wrong but it used to be booming back in the day 😇
Eddy I just seen that Rangers are playing Birmingham on 24th July at St Andrews, the pre season match is a memorial for Trevor Francis, who obviously played for both teams. I am not a Rangers fan but thought you would like to know.
@tropixi5336 Well I stay close to the Kemlin wheel and it's lovely, listen it's no shangri-la but it's hame, off all the people that I know who have left Falkirk or Camelon for a " better life " I'd say the majority end up back hame so sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side, mind you I'm posting this from Lefkada in Greece so maybe I'm a bit of a hypocrite.
Falkirk town centre looks a beautiful place to be ... but Eddy didn't need to buy any love potion ... he casts his own special spell wherever he goes ... 🪄

The mural is commemorating The Battle of Falkirk 1298.
