    I'm 33 years old and I'm brushing up on trig for a music project. I've been watching your videos all week. I wish you had been my math instructor in high school. YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER! Thank you. And if you ever feel so inclined, please do a video on the Fourier Series ;)

    Hello!
    I’m a student from Kazakhstan, final year before entering college, and I just realised that I need better foundation in math. I had to brush up on some topics and I’m SO glad I’ve found your channel! Your explanations are amazing, your students are lucky. I know how to solve trig because I’ve crammed all the formulas and identities, but you explain what’s the meaning behind it, and why is it the way it is. Thank you so so much, wishing you success and hope you’re having a wonderful day! Your impact on high school students around the world is huge.

    Professor RobBob ,thank you for a classic explanation on Angle Measures in Degrees, Minutes and Seconds. I worked in Land Surveying, and we use Degrees, Minutes and Seconds in all Angle calculations.

    Your handwriting is calligraphy in action. Your math board is artwork 🤑 I thought of math teachers as boring, with no aesthetic sense. You proved it otherwise. Thank you . There is always an exception. Example : Professor Rob Bob.

    Thank you. To make the conversion from degrees to minutes easier to see, write the whole conversion ratio out so the kids can see how the degrees units cancel and the numerical value becomes minutes. The .614 should have a degree mark in the upper right superscript position an the 60 should have the minutes mark showing and just below 60 minutes should be 1 with the degree mark showing and then show the kids the conversion from degrees to minutes by crossing out the degree units. Also, do not worry about being redundant. Think of it as reinforcement repitition or rehearsal. Teach these ideas.

    3:08 Well, hey there Mercury in Virgo. Third House looks really nice! Cool chalkboard. Thanks for helping me refresh on Trig before I take another run at Calc and then mash it all against mythological correspondances until I have a semi-coherent pseudo-mathematics to express concepts of ethical calculus in my art pieces. I might reinvent astrology using Trig; DMS is so inelegant!

    First off, thanks for these great videos. I have two questions. Do you think your playlists represent a typical full course, or are you just picking a selection of course material? My other question is if I can ask you math questions in the comments. Thank you for your time prof!

    • @profrobbob
      @profrobbob  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check out www.profrobbob.com I know there are isolated topics I have not covered in the playlists that I have created. But, they are the classes/lessons I teach at my local high school and in the order I teach them. Alg 1 is not complete. They include what my county's pacing guide requires and more. As an example, I am not supposed to cover Logs in PreCalc but I do. I taught AP Calc AB, but have a few lessons beyond that courses curriculum. However, I do not have a lesson for delta-epsilon proofs if you are taking college Calculus.
      As far as math questions, I keep up with them the best I can. Please remember though, I teach full time and this year my classes are Liberal Arts Math, PreCalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics. I am also trying to build up my Alg 1 playlist before getting back to Calculus at the end of the school year. My wife of over 20 years helps with the non-math comments:D
      Thank you for watching and your support. I appreciate it very much.

    Hey i really really enjoy your videos prof...they make concepts very easy to understand...would you say your pre-calculus and other 11th grade math videos are fit for tougher education systems such as the Indian? I mean, will there be any differences in the methods or unit systems? Thanks, and love the vids :)

    • @profrobbob
      @profrobbob  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There should be no difference in methods or unit systems, but I have a feeling the level of difficulty/rigor will be higher in India. The number views India is my #4 country but for time watched it is #6. I don't know if that is because my videos do not cover what they need, or if because they are not all Closed Captioned yet. Thank you for you nice feedback.

  • @tenton2000k

    If you have trouble remembering the difference between complementary and supplementary angles just remember that C comes before S in the alphabet and so 90 degrees comes before 180 degrees. Complementary=90 degrees while Supplementary degrees=180.
    Hope that helps!

    All are explaining how to convert degree's decimals to minutes and seconds.
    But no on can explain why we are converting the angle into minutes and seconds and how it will measure in the Realtime machines
    Can you pls clarify this?

    One thing i don't understand. Angle is a kind of distance, while seconds measure time. How are they related. I understand the arithmetic, but its confusing how they are related. To me degrees and seconds or minutes are like oil and water. Could you throw some light on this and enlighten me please? Thank you. By the way, needless to say you are AWESOME 🤑😊❤️

    Not being picky because, I know that you know the difference between astronomy and astrology but you said that we may break seconds down into minute parts for things like astrology. I know that it was a slip but just letting you know, that's all.

      @@profrobbob But that's just it, you don't. See, that fancy writing is maybe even more captivating than the intended main content of your video. If you did that nice writing as well as explain the problem your video would be much stronger. Find some ways to shorten the explanation if need be.
