Dude! It's amazing how you nail this in 15 minutes while most professors take the whole hour to explain it to the students. If I ever see you when I register for class, I will not hesitate to take. Plus, you're like the kind of professor I wouldn't be afraid to ask questions.
Thanks for the compliment and for watching and subscribing to Tarrou's Chalk Talk TheHRchannel ! I hope you continue to enjoy learning from my videos and if so, please "pay it forward" and share my channel with others:D
I hope to make math a whole lot more fun for you:) Thank you for watching and I am happy found this lesson helpful. I have over 700 more videos to learn from!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am taking College Trig online, and the modules consist of a powerpoint and video clips from Pearson. There's very little explanation, so when something doesn't click I get really stuck. This helped me make sense of things.
You're welcome Haley and THANKS for taking the time to seek outside help and choosing this channel to study with! If you continue to find this channel helpful maybe there is a way to forward my info to your college so all future students will know where to find us...BAM!!!
You're welcome and thanks for tuning in! Please take the time to like, subscribe and share this free channel with everyone that might find it helpful during these unusual learning times...BAM!!!
Thank you for tuning into my channel and watching. I'm glad to hear that my teaching style made the breakthrough you needed. We all have different styles of teaching and i try to make mine similar to what worked for me when I was in school. Please share my channel with your friends and classmates:)...now BAM!...go get an "A" on that quiz Monday!!!
I can't describe how happy I am that I found this! My math professor just moves too fast and this totally helped me actually understand the concepts...THANK YOU!
You are so very welcome. I'm glad you took the time to seek outside help and found my channel. I try to base my teaching style off of the styles I found the most helpful to me when I was in school. I look forward to helping you make Trig your new favorite subject:) (my wife said to thank you for sharing your great music selections)
First of all THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH, thank you!!!! Secondly, thank you for completely erasing the board, instead of leaving bits of writing there like all other teachers seem to do, and thank you for having wonderful, legible handwriting.
+ProfRobBob you have no idea how useful these videos were to me. I have a final tomorrow and I've searched a while to find a video that makes he material as comprehensive and interesting as yours. Again, thank you. Keep up the good work!
Mr. Tarrou I have been an Honors student all of my life, but have been really struggling with Pre Calculus. I have a C+ which is completely unacceptable for me, but I have learned more from you in one night then I have from my teacher all year. I can't wait to retake a test now knowing I'll be able to pass it. Thank you so much for your videos!
That's a good idea. I do have separate playlists on my channel now which follow the order in which the lessons are taught. Thanks for watching and good luck with your online course!
We're a team...I make the videos to help students learn and you sought out extra help and watched my videos and learned from them...now that's TEAMWORK at its finest! Thanks for choosing my channel to learn from:)
Keep watching and studying and next thing you know...BAM!!!...you GOT it!!! Please sub and share this free study resource with your class and teacher too:D
Thanks for studying with us and we hope you passed that exam like BAM!!! My prize will be subbing and sharing so someday before I retire I'll had a million subscribers:)
I'm in college at 35 and wasn't a very attentive high school student so I'm playing catch up and I struggle with the basics. You have made this subject very easy to understand in a short amount of time. Thank you.
Reference angles are acute measures that tell you how many degrees are between the x axis and the terminal side. If your angle is say 200 degrees, the reference angle is 200-180. If your angle is 280 then 360 - 280...you compare your angle to 360 because you are in quadrant 4. If your angle is 20, the reference angle is 20 because your angle is already acute.
THANKS!!! Yes, this is one of my earliest videos and at that time I never dreamed 8 years later I would still be making videos for this channel. I took this past year off because I was teaching 2 new IB math classes for the first time as well as my first year as an IB teacher...it was overwhelming as well as rewarding but plan to start making more videos soon so please like, sub and share this channel thru social medias, with friends, classmates and especially teachers...BAM!!!
What can I say to a comment like that but...those are the words all teachers want to hear from their students when they are struggling. "Unacceptable" followed by the steps it takes to change things! We as teacher can only teach, you the students, have to take that knowledge and put it to work. I applaud you for your efforts to make that change and turn that C into an A. Keep watching and learning and please let me know about your continued successes:)
My finals for precalc are coming up and I've been watching your videos to study better. I'd just like to say that they are very helpful and you are such a wonderful teacher, thank you for uploading these videos! On that note, I was watching this video before going to sleep and right when my eyes were closing, I heard your voice go "Are you still awake?! Are you with me?!" That was the most perfect timing ever, it did wake me up lol once again, thank you so much!
LOL =) lol :) I can just picture that Shaynal P. ...that's so funny! They do say "timing is everything" and I remember growing up my parents always told me that they always knew what I was doing...and somehow they did?! Guess teachers are like that a bit too...lol You are so welcome and THANKS for the great testimonial compliment and for taking your education seriously enough to study...and for choosing #ProfRobBob to learn from:) Students like you are why I love teaching! Please keep sharing my channel and remind them to like, subscribe, support the ads, like us on Facebook, share thru social media and with all their friends, class and teachers too...we groW with the help of our supportive subscribers!
Thanks for watching and sharing the compliment Khalood Good ! Don't forget to like, subscribe and share your experience with others to help this channel keep growing:D
What an incredible feeling it is to hear the explosion of a "BAM" coming from MY mouth as I'm studying for tomorrow's test. Thank you so much brother! So grateful for you. You've helped a confused student in south Florida really understand what he's doing. Keep it up!!! I'll look forward to you in my future classes:)
That's what this Florida teacher likes to hear...that you had a BAM!!! moment and that my lesson helped you so much and for sharing your excitement and appreciation! Please share this free study resource with your teacher so they can share with ALL their current and future students to help make Tarrou's Chalk the #! choice for Florida students!!! I look forward to seeing those subscriber numbers groW!
This video was extremely helpful! I've learned more in these 15 minutes than I have in my half semester of my *boring* pre-cal class. And the closed captions help SO MUCH!!! Thank you times a million-- already subbed :)
Thanks for studying and subbing and taking the time to "thank the teacher"! Please keep spreading the word and sharing this channel with friends, teachers, thru social media's and your classmates so we continue to grow and help others...BAM!!!
Thanks man, I have anxiety and the only way I dont run out of my trig class is to draw but then I never really get any instruction so now I can learn from home. Thanks a bunch man
Thank you very much for watching and the nice comment. I hope you do great in your class...I suspect so:) Please help me by spreading the word about my still relatively new and growing math channel.
@pejonic1 The standard period of sine is 2pi. In both of your equation, which are not equal/the same graph, you have a 3 in front of the x. That is a transformation to the period. So your sine functions would have a period of (2pi)/3. I hope this helps.
sir, you are going to be the main reason why i pass this sem i swear. my school promotes more on self study and review so it's a little hard to catch up sometimes. you're awesome man thank you for lending your hand for those who struggle. when i graduate you will be in my list of people who helped me succeed! thank you from Cebu Philippines
Students like you Roland Quiamco are the reason why I love teaching and am so grateful to have the opportunity, thru TH-cam, to share that love with students all over the world! Thank you for taking the time to "thank the teacher" and search out extra help and choose #ProfRobBob to learn from:) I'm honored I can help and proud of you for working so hard to succeed! Please let me know when you graduate because I want to be one of the first to congratulate you on that accomplishment!
There are two ways of thinking about that. One is it is not possible for a length to be negative. This is true, but I like to put them on the sides of the reference triangles anyway. My students remember the signs when setting up their final trig ratios more often when I show the negative signs around the reference triangle. Second the negative would be cancelled anyway by the even powers of 2.
Thank you! This is helpful to all the students out there like me with the worst teacher...who cant teach. I will now use your videos as my class! Thanks!
You're welcome and thanks for the sub too! You might find it easier to search lesson on my webpage at www.ProfRobBob.com and if you continue to find this channel helpful please share it thru social medias and especially with your teacher and classmates..at least I could be everyones TH-cam math teacher then...BAM!!!
went back to school at 31 to be a software engineer and trig is kicking my butt, your videos are a huge help though and hopefully i can pull it off this semester and move on to calc. thanks for the help!
+Michael Commisso CONGRATS for taking that giant step back into the classroom! Thanks for choosing my channel to study with and sub to...you'll get there, and when you do, I'll still be here too...BAM!!! Please share this channel with others to help us keep growing:D
If you are finding missing angles and sides of right triangles? If yes, then watch Right Triangle Trigonometry...you can search my channel by using the little magnifying glass under my welcome video. If you are working with non-right triangles then watch Oblique Triangles Law of Sines. I hope you find these videos helpful:)
BAM!!! If you are still watching...please take the time like, sub and share this channel with your class and professor so ALL current and future students know where to find free help:)
WOW...thanks for the compliments...and thanks for supporting by subscribing! I'll keep making them as long as students like yourself keep benefiting from them...and sharing so I keep growing. It would be awesome to share some of PatrickJMT's viewers:)
Hello ProfRobBob i dont know if you read comments anymore but i literally cried on the way out of my precal class today and just this video taught me everything we learned in class that i didnt get. I truly appreciate u. Thank you
You're welcome, it's always nice to hear that we are still helping...and of course we read these comments and my wife takes the time to reply to all of the general comments for me! We appreciate the support of our subscribers and hope that you will take the time to subscribe and share this free channel with your classmates and teachers so more people may benefit from all the hard work and time that goes into these educational channels...BAM!!!
You're welcome...please sub and share this channel with your teacher as a free after class study channel and remember to tell everyone to sub and share thru social medias and with friends, parents and teachers to help us keep growing!
Sorry for missing the question you posted. You may want to watch Evaluating Inverse Trigonometric Functions Full Length. I explain where the restricted range of values of come from for inverse trig functions. Basically inverse sine and inverse tangent functions have restricted ranges of -90 to 90, where inverse cosine is 0 to 180.
Did I make a mistake or did you not understand a part of my video? What minute in the video are you referring too. And...thank you very much for watching my video and liking them so much:):):)
Thanks for saying so...that's a BIG compliment considering how many choices you have on youtube:) I'll keep teaching as long as you all keep watching and learning!!! Thanks for your continued support.
You find playlists for each subject I have videos for on the homepage of my channel. They are in the same order I teach them in my classroom. There is a trigonometry playlist.
I am very glad I can help:) I had a student last year that sounds a lot like you and he thanked me very often for these videos. I really appreciate you watching. Please return the favor by spreading the word about my new math channel. I hope you do great in your class!!!
Professor RobBob ,thank you for another entertaining video/lecture on Trigonometric Functions of Any Angle. The examples continues to increase my knowledge of the subject.
@@nylaaa8310 make sure you give yourself credit for seeking outside help:) Congrats...now you can share this channel with your teacher so all current and future self-motivated students like you will know where to find free help, and we keep growing and helping others...BAM!!!
Hello, my name is Matthew and I attend Florida State College at Jacksonville. Your videos are fantastic and I advise all my classmates to watch your instructions the day before class. My professor rarely comes to class prepared, and as such you have effectively become my Pre-Cal and Trig w/ Limits professor. Without your help I would have been completely overwhelmed this semester. You have saved me money I would have otherwise spent on gas, tutoring, and perhaps even retaking this course. There are no words of thanks that seem sufficient. You have done for free what I cannot pay my professor to do; to care.
And THANK YOU Matthew Cecil for taking the time to "Thank the Teacher" and send such an appreciative comment, I do love teaching, especially when the students are hungry to learn! You might even try starting a study group and all watch my videos and help each other together with the homework...we've had many students share that success. My wife and I always say "if we had all the tuition money that students told us I should have gotten, instead of the school, I could retire and make TH-cam videos fulltime" ! I never dreamed when I started this 465 videos and 2 1/2 years ago, that I would still be doing this in addition to my full-time teaching job. Our dream is to someday have over a million subscribers so you can help us fulfill that dream by continuing to spread the word about Tarrou's Chalk Talk. Tell them to Like and SUBSCRIBE, Like it on Facebook, Tweet about it, post it in your student tutoring center, share with the head of the math department...if every student these videos helped did the same we would see that "M" in no time:)...it's hard to make a math channel go viral...lol :D Thanks again for "making my day" with your comment and appreciation!
Your wife's seems like an idealist, like myself, but hopefully teachers are paid better in the future. I've read different reports on education detailing the private money being spent to control text books, adjunct professors hired on contracts to divert money outside of classrooms, and while the quality of public education seems to be diminishing the cost of it continues to rise. I believe in public education, make no mistake, but how you're teaching is closer to how I imagine the future of education. 564 videos is indeed impressive, and it wouldn't take an "army" of professors to teach an incredible number of students in the future. It amazes me how much you, as one person, can accomplish. It's inspiring. I see your video hit counts. You've taught ALOT of people for FREE. I've subscribed, and I'll continue to advise people to subscribe to Tarrou's Chalk Talk. It's the least I can do.
I figured I pointed to quadrant 3 and said 2 when I replied to Guillermo's comment but I watched the two points in the video you referenced and what I said was correct. I think Guillermo was incorrect in his comment and I didn't check it.
I am not positive, but I think videos 31 and 32 in my Trigonometry playlist is what you are looking for. Trigonometric Equations Single Ange 0 to 2pi Restriction and Single Angle Trigonometric Equations All Solutions.
Congratulations!!! And Thank You infinitely for choosing Tarrou's Chalk Talk to learn from:) I'll be working hard over the summer on my Calc library so stay tuned...there is defiantly MORE to come:)
Thank you so much for all of your videos i stay awake every night and watch them over and over, you have no idea how useful they are to me ! thanks!! I love math and although im not that good at it, your videos are helping me pass my trig class!!
You are very welcome…and THANK YOU for being such a great student and working at home to improve your grade, your teacher and parents should be proud! There is an old saying "practice makes perfect"…if you have a passion for math and keep working this hard to understand it, one day you will just "get it" and the rest will come naturally:) Thank you for subscribing and choosing me to help teach you MrCortez!!!
I CAN be your teacher whenever you feel like watching another one of my videos...just think of me as your "personal teacher"...here just for you...to teach you whatever you need to learn:) All I can say is keep watching, doing your homework, studying, and put those positive thoughts out there before you take your final and then go pass that test with the confidence I know you can find deep down inside!
Thank you very much, sir, I'm a college student and did well with the first part of precalc, but this semester 1) my professor's style just isn't right for me or 2) I'm horrible at trig. You just made it so much clearer, and might have saved my sanity.
You're welcome...thanks for choosing our channel to study with, glad you found it helpful! Please take the time to sub and share this free resource with your other classmates and especially your teacher during these unique learning times...and stay well!
These were my earliest videos when I had a 15 min maximum...if you keep watching they do get longer. ...and You're welcome...thanks for studying and subbing too:) Please spread the word!
The difference between Mr. Tarrou and other teachers is you explain why, (ie: why is 3 negative) and thats something other teachers just don't seem to understand, when I asked "why" in my trig class my professor told me "because I told you so" Thanks, My. Tarrou!
Wow!!! Thank you for this video Prof. it help me catch up to class...cause lately i'm absent in class for one week... and i study at home and watching video like these.thank you it helps me very much..
Thank you tremendously for all of your videos. Might I suggest one thing though... perhaps, in the video description, include links to tutorial videos for the content that usually precedes or follows what you're teaching. I'm taking an online math course and I typically just search on TH-cam to learn any new material, but realized I "missed a step" when finding this video (y/r, etc.) Thanks!
+Katie Cain thanks for watching and studying...after you pass that test like BAM!!! I hope you will take the time to like, sub and share this channel with the rest of your class and friends too:D
THANK YOU xmalinovy for the compliment. Guess what?!...I have a video teaching my writing style too...BAM!!! Thanks for watching and learning from Tarrou's Chalk Talk too!
Have a quiz coming up for Pre-cal and I've had a hard time grasping this chapter, these videos are helping so much. Great job, very entertaining and brain stimulating. You have a new subscriber!
THANKS for studying and subbing Angelica! Please tell all your friends, classmates and teachers to watch and do the same...BAM!!! ...and go pass that quiz like BAM!!!
I was feeling really bummed out that I wasn't understanding the material in class. I was afraid I wasn't smart enough... but this made it clear to me! Thank you!
You're welcome Kimmie...so glad you found this lesson helpful! Sometimes just a different way of hearing/seeing things explained makes it seem more understandable:) Thanks for subbing and I hope you continue to find this channel motivational and easy to learn from! ...and if you do, please share it with your teacher as an additional after class study reference for ALL current and future students...BAM!!!
you sir are a life saver! My exams are on monday and science is one of the first day tests and I'm stupid when it comes to physics, but I found your channel! Thanks for the nice video! wish me luck!!
I did not take pre-calculus or trigonometry when I was in school. I have been out of school for many years. I have been out of college since 1999 (computer networking field). I decided to go back to college to become a Math teacher. I am trying to get caught up by watching your videos. You have been an incredible help. Thank you for posting these!
You're so welcome…congrats on taking the plunge back to college but what made you want to become a math teacher from a computer field? Good luck with your studies and keep me posted on your progress:) Maybe I can help keep you motivated…lol
I have always loved Math... and it's always come fairly easy to me. Even though I worked in the Computer Networking field, my hobby was Computer Programming... which takes a lot of logic (math) thinking. I have been a substitute teacher since 2010. I have also been tutoring Algebra I for the last 2 years.
Also... I know Math Teachers earn far less than someone who sets up computer networks for businesses... but I didn't enjoy that job as much as I enjoy subbing in Math classes and tutoring Math. I'll accept the lower pay for the satisfaction of knowing a child understands the Math they are doing. I get excited about teaching Math, which in turn gets the kids excited (even though they think I'm a bit wacky that I like the subject so much).
Litha Sonner All GREAT reasons to teach!…and like they say "choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life"…I have found that to be very true:) The world is certainly in need of more teachers sharing your point of view! It's not always about the money and as you can see by my videos, it also helps to be a little wacky:D
Yippeee...another satisfied viewer:)) I think having a pause and rewind button certainly helps too..LOL Thanks for commenting and please share my channel with your fellow students:D...thanks.
Dude! It's amazing how you nail this in 15 minutes while most professors take the whole hour to explain it to the students. If I ever see you when I register for class, I will not hesitate to take. Plus, you're like the kind of professor I wouldn't be afraid to ask questions.

Keep it up ProfRobBob
Thanks for watching and sharing the compliment Khalood Good !

Sec is r/x. r is always positive and x is negative in quadrants 2,3. Since your constraint is 0 to pi your angle is in quadrant 2.

***** THANK YOU for "taking" the opportunity to learn!!!
Students like you are why I teach:)
Thanks!
This honestly makes so much sense now. I appreciate it
Thanks for studying and subbing too:)

I think this is gonna save me from an impending test my teacher didn't teach anything on, thank you so much
BAM!!!...thanks for studying and subbing!
Thanks for saying so...that's a BIG compliment considering how many choices you have on youtube:)
I'll keep teaching as long as you all keep watching and learning!!! Thanks for your continued support.
AWESOME! I hope you do great. Thanks for watching and please spread the word about my new math channel:)

You find playlists for each subject I have videos for on the homepage of my channel. They are in the same order I teach them in my classroom. There is a trigonometry playlist.
Thank you very much and thanks for watching:)
Thanks for noticing and for watching:)

Tell them to Like and SUBSCRIBE, Like it on Facebook, Tweet about it, post it in your student tutoring center, share with the head of the math department...if every student these videos helped did the same we would see that "M" in no time:)...it's hard to make a math channel go viral...lol :D
Thanks again for "making my day" with your comment and appreciation!
Matthew Cecil THANKS for supporting!
Thank you very much, sir, I'm a college student and did well with the first part of precalc, but this semester 1) my professor's style just isn't right for me or 2) I'm horrible at trig. You just made it so much clearer, and might have saved my sanity.
You are the first teacher on youtube who is so enthusiastic!
Great! Keep it up!
You are really giving a tough fight to PatrickJMT! :)

These were my earliest videos when I had a 15 min maximum...if you keep watching they do get longer.
...and You're welcome...thanks for studying and subbing too:) Please spread the word!
The difference between Mr. Tarrou and other teachers is you explain why, (ie: why is 3 negative) and thats something other teachers just don't seem to understand, when I asked "why" in my trig class my professor told me "because I told you so"
Thanks, My. Tarrou!
Thank you so much! I have spent the entire unit so confused and my test is in Two days and now I am finally starting to understand it because of you.

Thanks for your words of encouragement! :)
Yes it would be a quadrantal angle:) Any rotation that puts the terminal side on an x or y axis is a quadrantal angle.
Yippeee...another satisfied viewer:)) I think having a pause and rewind button certainly helps too..LOL Thanks for commenting and please share my channel with your fellow students:D...thanks.
I missed some school then when I returned my teacher could not seem to explain something along these lines, no pun intended! Prime video!
