7:37 it's not most of the time. If you get the queen in time before your kings touch it's a win, and also if there's two blocking pawns on the board it's still winning. It's probably the most important end game technique in atomic.
For anyone wondering, if two pawns are blocking, e.g. c4 and c5, you set up your queen 2 squares horizontall from your opponents pawn (e.g. e5). Then you run your king to e4 and then in between the pawn and queen on d5. Your opponent's king has to follow to keep kings touching. You then go forward and behind your queen (i.e. d6-e6). Your opponents king has to follow on d5-d6 to stay touching your king where you can explode it by Qxc5#
0:55 what you do here is Qh4 and after g3 you put the queen on c4 creating a double threat and so oponents only move is Qd3 and then you kaboom the queen on c2 to trade queen for queen + pawn + 2 pieces and then you just win with the material advantage
Which is absolutely obvious, but hey, not everyone is a good player, and good players sometimes do mistakes too. It's the whole point of chess as without mistakes nobody would be able to win at all. And in such an aggressive variant it's much easier to make mistakes.
In the last game's hypothetical line 4. Qxg4 c5 5. Nf7 Qb6 and either you lose a queen or all the queenside pieces. If ever Qg4 by white black can respond f5 (if Qh5, g6).
Your opponent played that opening and blundered a queen, you played the opening and blundered a queen. Balanced as all things should be
“Not even close”
“A little bit closer”

(I laughed out loud at that part. That rook was probably singing the Jaws theme)

Thanks for the insights!

0:00 I Love Normings
My favorite time of the day.
Such a norm
As a normie, I too love the normings
I'm not a norming person.
6:33 - Bf8#
Edit: Yes, g6 is the response, I'm stupid.
g6
Initially I thought the same but...Nah he could have move the pawn.
I was thinking the same, couldn't see that pawn move 😅

Material values matter a lot in atomic chess, if you get a material disadvantage a good player will never lose the advantage you give them

Okay but where is my beloved Duck Chess speedrun?
I already know that Simp will talk about that no one wrote about "Norming everyone", but now his plan is failed

when are you gonna do chess variants with challenges
Duck chess with challenges would be awesome
Good Norming
Why does it says 'king captured' should be 'king exploded'
Okay, so we know Simp is Asian, but he's also dsylixec. Noted.

@@ussxrequinthat was the joke

Is the boom sound effect an editing choice or part of the website?

6:32 isn't Bf8 like really strong for you there?
Once Black moves the g pawn in response, what will you do?
White is too OP in atomic for high level players. That is why you should try racing kings.😂
Why is this checkmate in one? What's stopping King e6?
Rxf6 kaboom the king
Am I missing something, or isn't Bishop to F8 in the last game just immediately checkmate?
Good norming to you too.
