    Gretzky was a chess master on ice hockey skates!

    Those names I never forgot: Robitaille, Blake, Kurri and Gretzky.
    What I forgot is that they all played together at one point. Kind of surreal.
    Thanks for the upload.

      Luc 62 goals, Gretzky 92 goals, Kurri 71 goals.. Not a bad line (Their best seasons)

      @@glenw-xm5zf Exactly! I think Robitaille's best is 63 goals, Kurri wasn't the elite forward he once was with Edmonton, but still. Rob Blake is a Norris winner. Those 4 players on the ice for the same team feels like fantasy hockey to me. By the way, who's the other player?
      Edit: I slowed it down, seems like his jersey number is 7, or maybe 2. That's either T. Watters (?) or J. Paek... thanks to google, no idea who they are to be honest. 😐

    Kurri: 71 goals. 28% shooting accuracy. If he hadn't missed a few games, he would have gotten 78

    Did anyone notice that Gretzky caught the high pass with his hand and still made the stick pass in one fluid movement?! Wow. What a pass.

      Yeah. I was just looking for some thumbs-up as to how cool that move was specifically. I found it difficult to Gretzky catch the puck because of the low quality of the video. But watching it a few times, I was able to see that amazing play.

    wayne assisted on more of kurri's goals than anyone else. just imagine if they ever had a decent left winger over all of those years.

      They played with a left winger who was there to ensure nobody messed with either of them.

      Kurri would have lost out on goals and points and the likelihood of Wayne getting hurt would have gone up if they did. It went as well as anyone could have asked. At the time, there really weren't a lot of good left wingers available. It would have been a miracle for them to have drafted one. Only a miracle because of their draft picks that they already made. Imagine picking Goulet on top of everything else? You can't have everything. They already had Messier who was a left wing in those early years.

      @@dannycarlow8204 Messier was Matti Hagman(C)''s LW in the one season he scored over 50. Oh, and Tikkanen was helpful.

    • @dannycarlow8204
      @dannycarlow8204 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Losrandir Yes Tikkanen helped but he only played two and a half seasons on the Oilers while Wayne was there. I think the commenter meant longer than that. I realize that Mess didn't play with Wayne but there was every chance to if they wanted a decent player on the left for Wayne and Jari. They didn't need it. They needed the protection because they played in the roughest era. 84% of all 300 penalty minute seasons in history happened during Wayne's career. The security was more important, and I'm sure more appreciated.

    If Gretzky started his career in 1993 with L.A instead of the 80's with Edmonton, he'd still be a great player, not as great as in the 80's but he would've been great in the 90's and 2000's. Even if he started in 2015 he'd still be as good as McDavid or a bit better,

      Yeah. But ya know that was a power play right? That means that the wings had one less man on the ice than LA did. So that means someone is always going to be open right? Wings guys was in the passing lane to Gretzky and the lane for a point shot and just couldn't cover everything 🤔.

      Actually this was the following season (1993/94). The kings went to the finals in the 1992/93 season. So technically it’s the same year, but it’s not the same NHL season.
