@andrea elena rios hiii. 왜 (wae) means why. and in this context 뭐(meo) and 왜(wae) serve the same purpose of "why did you look at me?" "what was the reason you looked?" but i really feel like he said 뭐 but either way like i said the meaning is the same contextually.
also 좋아서(joha seo), 서 (seo) grammatically is used to express a reason of something. "because". and you are right 좋아해요 (joha hae yo) is used to say i like you, but that is if you are stating it as a statement. but here, 좋아서(joha seo) is used as an answer. which can serve to mean both "i like you" or "i like it" conversationally. hope that helps :)
