Day 2 | Camino Portuguese | Labruge to São Pedro de Rates | March 19, 2024

- We started day two of our camino walking from Labruge to Vila do Conde where we had lunch and explored this beautiful historic town for a few hours. Between both of our heels bothering us and the fact that the two different options to transition to the Central Route are not too exciting, we decided to take a taxi to São Pedro de Rates instead of walking this segment.
Overall, we walked 6 miles (9.66 km) for our second day on the Camino (not including the miles we walked around Vila do Conde which were many).
That evening in Rates, we stayed at Casa Anabela which was a beautiful home. Much thanks to Anabela for your warm hospitality!

I watched a couple of your videos from your last camino and then this one popped up. I did my first Camino in 1995 by myself. I was 22 and alone. Nobody knew anything about the Camino. It was a different world. I have done it three more times since. I did the Portuguese coast in 2022. Planning a part of the Camino Mozarabe next week and may post some videos on my TH-cam channel. Hi Calgary! Thanks for watching our journey! I carried my pack on the plane. My sister checked hers, but only because we had to check our poles as the are not allowed as a carry on.
