    I got to drive one of these a little while back and I feel like Audi really got the balance between sportiness and luxury right on these cars. Great luxury coupe to drive around every day but still plenty of fun on tap once you start mashing the pedals. I do wish they kept the v8 as an option but from what I felt the torque came in at a lower rpm with the supercharger in place. Good job Audi.

      Agree. My ideal S5 would have a pre 2013 V8 engine, a 2013-2016 exterior and the 2017 interior. The inside keeps getting nicer but I hate what they did with the exterior in -17. All the creases and weird angles (to me) kinda ruins the beautiful shape of the car. And sadly the interior in the 2012 and older cars is starting to look (while still beautiful) a bit dated today. But I guess that S5 isn’t available. Which is why I’m looking for a 2016. In black.

    The interesting (and funny, I think) part is that when the Audi S5 is supercharged, it uses the "T" prefix, which usually stands for "turbo" or "turbocharged" or what not, instead of using an "S" or an "S/C" prefix which is the proper prefix for a car with a supercharged engine. It's opposite of the MINI Cooper, who's S trim model name stands for "supercharged", but when in 2008 (I think) they switched to turbocharged engines, it now stands for "Sport" or whatever. Anyway, since the review video of the Ford Taurus SHO, you haven't reviewed any 4-door sedans lately, so after the Jeep Renegade review, try reviewing the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe or any other sedan you want to review. Still a nice, sporty Audi, but the RS5 is way sportier.

    You mentioned that the throttle response isn't exactly sharp, I'm wondering is there a "S" mode, that may increase it? I also have a comment about the engine,..this is a 3.3L with 335-ish bhp, when you look at other NA engines that are in 3.3 - 3.5 L displacement zone and they push 300 Hp all day long. The is 3.3 Sc engine sounds like it could be so much more than it is. I do realize the torque is increased. I think the aim of Audi was to help lighten up the front end and also increase possible fuel milage, and to keep power in the same neighborhood as the NA v8 although its down 25-ish bhp. I think it would have been better served to twin turbo this 3.3 and have it dish out 400Bhp and 400-ish Tq @ 1500 - 2200 rpms, and that way you save weight, increase milage (assuming you have a light foot, but its an option), and beef up the power, not to mention the price too. I am just trying to have a conversation about all the possibilities here. Any replies would be welcome critical or supportive!

    Hi From Australia. Always love your Reviews. I already have a e92 M3 with tune exhaust etc, special drives and collectibility. Need a daily , was looking at a Lexus IS F for reliability, drag days and odd track day, tune and headers a must. Temped by these S4 and 5 now, love the V8 as well. Oh the confusion. What do you think .

      +LamboFanatic I have a 2014 S4, with apr tune...it's neck and neck with the RS5. More torque in the S4/5 but, I agree with you, there are few cars with a V8 like the RS5 that from 4000-8000rpm is pure joy. I wish they sold the RS4 in sedan in North America.

      +Sammy Cort Forget the C6 in the 05-07 model years. Go for '08+ you get the better LS3 motor. I have one that's boosted. With supporting mods, a vengeance racing cam/3200 stall, kooks long tubes + B&B PRT exhaust I make 650 to the rear. It's a heart breaker!

    • @6orv
      @6orv 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      well yea i am looking for a good 2008 corvette but i only saw the z06 model from this channel and all the other ones were not particular on the car

    • @RandallJT84
      @RandallJT84 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sammy Cort Early model Z06's have valve issues. It's suggested that if you go with a 7.0 that you ask if the valves have been changed before purchasing. If you're wanting to run boost it's not the greatest application for such a variation. LS3 love boost, and don't have issues compared to the LS7. Just trying to look out for ya. A Corvette is such a great buy for the performance to price tag. Drive a legend, drive American, drive Corvette!

    Its a 3.0L V6, with 333 hp, perhaps that's where you got confused! Great review though!

    • @MrRhaegar8
      @MrRhaegar8 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have no intentions of modifying my S5....initially. The 3.0 V6 seems to offer an ample power band that just keeps giving. Im looking forward to having an engine that doesn't require me to wind it out to utilize maximum torque.

  • @LegendInThaMakin
    @LegendInThaMakin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ill never understand how all these cars competing with the 335i have so much more power than it but yet are slower... 0-60 in 4.7 seconds? The 335i got 300hp & 300 torque and is still faster.
    Either that audi is heavy as hell or bmw is really underrating its numbers.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +LegendInThaMakin The Audi is really heavy. Later in my review I give the number, 3,900 lbs.

    • @LegendInThaMakin
      @LegendInThaMakin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +subaruwrxfan Yeah i heard that after i posted the comment but laziness overcame me and i didnt feel like editing it.
      Almost 4000 pounds? Yikes.. what's worse is its awd and due to drivetrain loss, the 335i being rwd will pull hard and the s5 will never catch up.
      Still a beautiful car though, but the reason i still prefer the 335 is tunability. Making 400+ hp is super easy & relatively cheap with these cars.
      Still waiting on that 335 review :)

    It's amazing how prejudiced americans are to V6s and how they think V8s are the be all end all of cars. I mean I get it, half a century ago any proper car had a V8 and the V6 was some shit detuned entry level engine that had 4 liters and produced 150hp, but get with the program already. This engine is *better* than the V8 it replaces, it's faster in the real world and unlike the NA V8 it can be modded to get an extra 50-100 hp very easily and for very little money and even give the RS5 a run for its money.

    • @starcloud4959
      @starcloud4959 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was quite a stupid comment.they should have kept the V8 , which btw are better than V6s.
