      All those type phrases have now become a parody.
      In this day and age.
      In the current climate.
      You must understand.
      Your (legal )activity is suspicious.
      (The American ) here's the deal.
      When I hear these said by cops in an audit ,I internally laugh.

    I think Hendon Police Academy should invite you and AB and other auditors to give a practical demonstration of LEGAL FILMING.
    It would be much better that a prospective officer found out that making up "laws" when someone is doing a perfectly legal act has consequences, like compensation for illegal detainment/arrest/search.
    Hendon could even retrain serving officers to save compensation payouts due to over zealous activity.

    Yardley is a very good auditor, I like his style and he shows great confidence, assertiveness and knowledge of his civil rights when speaking to police officers.
    Yardley is not intimidated easily and can hold his own well when being challenged and put under heavy pressure during questioning by a police officer.
    We need more auditors like Yardley who are not frightened to speak their mind concerning police officers acting unprofessionally, abusing their authority and the law.
    Auditing in the UK is not a new thing and has been around for at least 12 years, although it's only really fruitioned within the last 5 years or so.
    The IOPC published an auditor/social media blogger memo which was sent out to all police constabularies back in 2010, they've had plenty of time to advise and retrain their staff accordingly but 12 years later most auditing videos have shown that constables and officers are still unaware and uneducated in a citizen's lawful right to film and take pictures in public.
    Police officers are continuing to either ignore the 2010/2021 IOPC memos or cannot be bothered obtaining a copy, reading it and educating themselves on the advice contained within the document.
    As it stands today police officers are still wilfully abusing their authority, people's civil rights and legislation, namely Section 43 of The Terrorism Act 2000.
    New laws need to be passed in government giving more legal protection for auditors, social media bloggers and journalists, if this doesn't happen the police will just continue abusing the law like they have been doing for years.

      @@cypeman8037 Not many cases have been successful and most have been thrown out.

    • @libertyfighter76
      @libertyfighter76 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@cypeman8037 Those memos might as well be worthless documents that don't serve any legitimate and good purpose if police officers aren't even bothering to read, take on board and follow the advice that IOPC has given them.
      Most police officers can't even remain professional half the time, let alone obide by the laws they swore an oath of office to uphold, they'd rather use every opportunity and excuse to exploit and abuse legislation like it's their own personal legal fun playbook.
      I appreciate your comment, we have a difference of opinion on the issue about needing or not needing new laws to protect auditors, social media bloggers and journalists, I feel that we do, you disagree, so let's just leave it there shall we.
      If police officers done their job properly, stopped abusing their authority, the law and people's civil rights then we "the general public" wouldn't need to be dragged through the legal justice system to try and get our names cleared of wrong doing and seek compensation and damages pay outs.
      It's only happening because police officers are failing in their duty to do what they are supposed to be doing, until these problems are addressed, improved upon and fixed, nothing is ever gonna change and get better.

    This is a Great representation of Ego's with a warrant card, trying to assert some sort of 'perceived Authority'. Until a law has been broken they have absolutely 'NO AUTHORITY.' or 'POWERS' over anyone. The 'Training standards' are obviously at rock bottom if this is the Calibre of officers it's churning out! I think the Trainers need Investigating as they are falling very short of basic standards. Always ask for the CAD number when they say there was a call. If they cannot provide it, ignore them and treat them with the contempt they treat you. The officer at the End also goes to prove that Auditing IS having an effect, very slowly as the PC's are known to be very slow learners! Great work as always Yardley

      This shows a distinct lack of OTJ TRAINING ...
      you know, the once every 5 weeks compulsory day of training for shift working front line Police where little tidbits of info...like public photgraphy is not a crime...could be mentioned.
      Also daily start of shift briefings could do the same...

    The tyrant never wants to identify because of accountability and the see themselves as above the law so we should all bow to them, the first 2 officers are disgraceful , ok they ask questions but why not show there warrant cards and speak in a decent manner, especially after there colleague officer Wayne Couzens crimes.

    • @JollyRogerTheDodger
      @JollyRogerTheDodger 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your argument about Wayne Couzens is really rather silly...IF there are lots of police out there like Couzens, then there would be women raped and murdered every single night by the police but that's simply not the case is it?
      Oh and it's 'their colleague' not "there colleague".

    Brilliant audit @Yardley Ski The sheer incometence of it all goes from one extreme to the other. From lies and attempted intimidation to a section 5 and totally ignoring the right of the public or markings in the car park, either meant for other vehicles or meant to indicate no parking at all, else they wouldn't be there. It looks like the training goes in one ear and out the other. Nice little feedback twist at the end but it seems to be the same old story, someone called them on the radio, so instead of walking they drove to just outside the gates, or even just accepting that filming in public is perfectly legal.

    Those two cops at the very beginning had the law - in relation to public photography while on public land - fully, and very precisely, explained to them. Yet did they desist? Of course not!! Their egos as well as their contempt for us ( and the law ?) is such that wouldn't allow them to admit they were in the wrong. What a flipping joke!

  • @frankgardiner5002
    @frankgardiner5002 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    The perceived authority police have is unbelievable, when will they get it unless your braking the law they have NO authority over any one. An anonymous call from an anonymous person saying some one in public is filming FFS. Love the way you run them round is circles using logic. The NPC memo has been out for a number of years and yet the number of officer either ignore it and let their egos get the better of them or they are just not aware of it which is worrying as they are not keeping informed and up to date. The last officer seemed ok and informed.

    Well Yardley, i think that was the best training session those probationers could have had about dealing with members of the public. Even they thought they were a higher authority than a member of the public filming from a public place. The creep does not deserve to last his 2 year probationary period, and on the other end of the scale officer NW1818 knew exactly your rights and was very respectful of them. After all its only a flaming camera. PS, i did wonder if one officer who said very little thought it might just be a training exercise.

    Love your auditing style. For me your like the rough version of PTTP in the way you handle the police. Gotta love it. I'd love to see you and PTTP do an audit together. The contrast of the two you would be brilliant. Good auditor, bad auditor.

    I have to focus on the positive feedback; PC 1818 (professional attitude) reiterated what has been stated all along from auditors-there is an official memo and there's no need for police to get officious. 11k already, my sub was about 250. Well done, I said early on, give the man a chance!👊👍

    The new recruits are all " police constable degree apprentices" . The course is run by a mixture of universities and former polytechnics and is structured and approved by the College of Policing. The apprentices are paid the full rate while going through their degree starting at 19K - 23.5 K depending on the particular force and with annual increments, so NO student loans or tuition fees for them. On completion of their degree I believe they have to serve a minimum of 2 years before they can shove off with their degree to pastures new. This constant turnover or " churn " suits the police service. It means few experienced officers but a lot of young fit keen constables. So when they move on in a couple of years the police save a fortune in pension costs.

    NW 1818 What a relief to see a pleasant police person. That first encounter with PC Mike Newbie unfortunately seems to be the norm. Let's hope he has nothing to do with training if he passes on attitudes like that.

      We aren't anymore, that's the thing. They are no longer accountable to us. At some point - by degrees - the police force has morphed slyly from being a public service into a group of paramilitary social workers (as Peter Hitchens phrases it). The standard of recruitment for the police is truly shocking.

    "Be calm" implies you're becoming agitated , and being told to be calm, winds people up, that's their lead in for a sec 5, they wind you up to make you less calm, then they nick you for the event they instigated.
