    How bad does the bag stretch when anything is in it? Wouldn’t you need to line the bag?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! That all depends on how heavy the contents are. I used a Hdc stitch because it holds up pretty well with minimal gaps. The bag is pretty durable. If you are concerned feel free to line you bag OR try using a smaller crochet hook for tighter stitches OR only use yarn that is stronger like cotton or ribbon. 😊❤️🧶

    What is the measurement across? Length is 56cm/22in lengthwise but wasn’t sure how wide to make it. Love this bag. It’s beautiful

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question. I listed that each panel is 6.5 inches wide or 16.5cm. 2 Panels wide + the join means the bag is roughly 14 inches wide. This is definitely a measurement that can easily change depending on materials used, crochet tension, and what you choose to do for a join. 😊❤️🧶

    Could it be that because one yarn is acrylic and one is cotton you had to make a different number of rows? How is the bag when it comes to stretch, since it's two different yarns?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great Questions!! I did find that the cotton blend yarn did have a bit of stretch to it. The opposite strap is 100% acrylic which helps stabilize it. I did notice that the cotton blend yarn was thinner than the 100% acrylic yarn. It was because of the different thicknesses of yarn that the stitches were offset. I noticed a HUGE sizing difference between the 2 panels even though it claims to be the same size on the yarn label AND I made the same number of stitches and rows for both. It's more about just making sure the panels are all the same size NOT that you made the same number of stitches and rows.

  • @artemis2006

    do i have to make each panel 22 inches, or could i do less like 15 inches or something?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Feel free to adjust the panels however you want. Just make sure the 4 panels look identical in size. That may mean the panels have a different amount of rows or stitches and that is ok! The only thing that is important is that the panels all match in length and width. 😊❤️🧶

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nothing is wrong with you! I found that my panels did not join together with a one-to-one stitch ratio. What I recommend is getting a few stitch markers, pinning your bag down so that all the top peaks are the same length and the bottoms all come together. Then, joining from the inside - out, pinch and join and pinch and join making sure to stop every so often to see how everything is laying out for you. As long as you can keep it so you are joining evenly to the end and all the ends are roughly the same length you are good! Reach out to me in Wednesdays Crafter’s Gathering and let me know how it’s going and if I can help even more in person. I got you! 🤗❤️🧶

      Sorry about that. I realized that different materials, even though they claim to be the same size, can work up differently and you may have to focus more on keeping the measurement consistent not so much the stitch ratio. As long as the strips are all the same length you should be good! Focus on the measurements and not the number of rows being the same. 😉🧶❤️

The crochet handle you just align and join. And any other handle involving metal semi-circles or metal attachments you just sew over to attach. But all in that same location, top points of bag. 😊❤️🧶

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much for the feedback. I appreciate the suggestions. I guess the basic thing for this bag is to not focus on making the strips the same number of stitches and rows. Focus on making all 4 strips the same exact size. The thing I ran into with the tutorial is that the yarns I used in the bag project claimed to both be a size 4 weight yarn. However, I did not check their WPI and the two yarn were definitely NOT the same size so when I instructed people to just make 4 strips with the same number of stitches and rows, and 2 of the strips were VASTLY bigger than the other, I knew I had to adjust my instructions otherwise the strips would not join together as straight forward as they should with the top peaks being identical. I hope this makes sense and helps you. 😊❤️🧶

    Currently I'm in the MOST trust the process spot I've ever been in. The video isn't very clear about how to join the 3 and 4th panel and I'm very concerned I did it completely wrong lol. Wish I could post a pic. Also not sure how I'm gonna line this beauty assuming the bag looks like a bag lol

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally understand the "Trusting The Process" feeling. Something I discovered with this project was that the stitches will not always align. It is so important to know this! Even though you made all 4 panels with what claims to be the same size yarn does not mean they will be identical. SO, I discovered if you use stitch markers and start at the top of the bag where the handles will be to control all 4 points being the same length on top. Then use the stitch markers to pin the panels on the bottom, and literally just pin the two panels with stitch markers up the side so you can whip stitch these two panels together and not worry where your yarn needle goes.

      That's a great question. I listed that each panel is 6.5 inches wide or 16.5cm. 2 Panels wide + the join means the bag is roughly 14 inches wide. This is definitely a measurement that can easily change depending on materials used, crochet tension, and what you choose to do for a join.

    I think it would also look good if all the yarn is the same.

    Love this bag, but I had difficulty following this tutorial. I finally gave up and found another crocheter’s channel that made construction of the bag much easier to follow.

    Great idea!! I made my kids and grandkids large afghans. I used all the leftovers from all of their blankets and made myself one and I just love it. All of the different colors trigger memories ❤

      My apologies. I must have been compensating for the microphone. I hope that turning the volume down helps.

      I'm sorry about that. It's a little wonky to assemble. Keep giving it a try. You'll get it. 😊❤️🧶
