You can make it bigger. Make sure the number of rows is always odd.
is there an intermediate size between the large and the small bag?
It is an universal pattern: the length is 3 times longer (in cm or inch) than the width
I tried this for the small bag with 130g of super chunky yarn and the hook in the video (our yarns look identical) and i ended up 28 rows short 😢

Try to use double thread. I used a very soft yarn as well.
The yarn substitute (Paintbox yarn-DK) seems much thinner than what you used in the video!

I’m going to just say that the purse appears easy to crochet, unfortunately the creator of this channel did not give clear information as to where the viewer is to place the stitch markers, which is the most important piece to successfully finishing this purse. Also, it would be a great idea to changing your music to maybe some soft instrumental music, just an opinion.
9:28 I show exactly where you need to place the stitch markers. I folded it into three parts and marked it. You dont need to count the rows. It is an universal pattern for different crochet pattern as well.
