New 2024 video th-cam.com/video/gGOECwHNWpA/w-d-xo.html
hello.
I was impressed by your video, so I hit the subscribe button and watched your other videos.
It's been a while since I uploaded the video, so I'm not sure if you'll reply, but I have a question.
I'm planning to paint the oil tank by myself. Can you tell me the materials you used and the order?
I'm going to try to follow it exactly like this video.
And you said you used 3 clear coats. What does that mean?
Did you repeat the paint and clear coat process three times?
Even after watching the video, I don't understand it at all.
I'm Korean, so I apologize for leaving a comment through a translator.
@@sgk6723 Hi, I just saw your comment. I work a lot and I can’t always answer right away. Three weeks have passed, and if this is still relevant, then I can answer your questions
@@Z11KUSTOM Thank you for the comments, I'm still waiting for your response.
@@Z11KUSTOM I'm going to engrave a pattern with a white base coat on top of a blue base coat. Should I just dry the blue base coat and then apply white paint right away? Or do I need to apply a clear coat once?
@@sgk6723 For this tank I used ordinary materials that are used for painting cars and motorcycles. I'm sure similar ones are sold in your city. The first layer is primer. It is very important to sand the primer before applying paint to make the surface smooth. use 1000-1200 paper for this. Next you apply paint. make patterns, whatever you want. remembering to pause between layers to allow each layer to dry (you are using different colors). Check the drying time with the seller or check the paint can. also observe the temperature regime. Afterwards it is necessary to cover it with a transparent layer (clearcoat). 2-3 layers of clearcoat (the number of layers depends on the type of varnish and the type of material).
more than a secret trick, this is patience, skills and precision at work. Superb work!
Thank you!! 🙏
The tank turned out real nice. 👍🏽
I love that texture you built up with the wire. It amazes me how the small ideas end up looking the best. Beautiful job. It looks fantastic.
thanks a lot man!!
I'm gonna shave off my pubes and try this effect. Lol it's all about creativity.
@@Z11KUSTOM You GOTTA teach me more texture skillz man! This one is crazy!
Miku, thank you!
@@Z11KUSTOM I did it. It's hilariously easy for such an amazing effect. Any other texture u got in your sleeve?
Nice design and job. 1 small detail that will absolutely WRECK it. By not painting the "collar" around the top of the fill hole, you have left a place OPEN for gasoline to seep under the paint and start eating it away from underneath............. I dare ya to ask me how I know that !!! I've done the same thing............and when you make a mistake like that on a custom piece for a customer or WORSE yourself, and find out the HARD WAY like I did....... You tend to not make those same mistakes twice. Paint all the way INTO the hole at least with your base coat and CLEAR coat. That prevents the disaster from happening at least.
It's amazing paint job
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching 🤝

Came out better than I thought, I deliberately avoided looking at the display picture so I wouldn't skip, I had my reservations but when you started peeling the tape I saw it start to come into focus. Nice job.

Reminds me of seeing someone with a really cool tattoo, I love it, but dam it! Somebody's already got it. Lol like the way you made your video as well, good speed, music has good flavor, and not a lot of chit-chat like you're watching some damn talk show where you can tell the guy practices talking to himself in the mirror. BRAVO
Thanks buddy!!
That is Bad Ass. Mad Skills
Thank you bro!
That was awesome. You are a true artist. ...I'm taking some of your ideas by way. That crumpled wire trick was very creative.

Amazing. Looks like it belongs in an exhibit on ancient Egypt.
Wow, thanks!
Круто, очень круто! Я чуть голову не сломал, пока понял какой слой ленты в какое время надо убирать!))
Спасибо))
What he said ^ I think?
He said: Cool, very cool! I almost broke my head until I realized what tape at what time to remove!
Looks like tanned hide👍
✌🏻
Man that's incredible! Did you polish after that last clear coat or did it come out that smooth?? If so, what gun/tip/clear coat did you use??
What gold flake did you use.
That looks amazing buddy just wondering did you clear coat after the gold paint or did you just pin out design straight over the base gold ? Awesome all the same 🤟thx for sharing
Thanks so much, mate! No, after the gold paint I didn't use a clear coat. I use here clear coat as a finish layer and no more
Really awesome Tank Man what color was that you sprayed Through the Wire was that just a heavily reduced black it looked a lot lighter after the clear coat was on it
Thanks man!! Just black paint, the same as on the whole tank, it seems lighter because the paint layer is thin, because of this it is translucent
Hola!!! Usas alguna resina o barniz entre capas?
Hola! No. Usé barniz solo como capa de acabado.
*new BLACK and GOLD **th-cam.com/video/m2-PbWXWTJQ/w-d-xo.html** great tank. Don't forget to subscribe. Stay tuned*
Fantastic! When can we see it on a bike?
Thanks, man!! Unfortunately never
because I sold this tank to another city
Could you do a gas tank with a sunburst finish like on guitars?
For you? Or do you need a video?
@@Z11KUSTOM a video
Oh my gosh
Beautiful! What kind of tape?
Probably in this video I used JETA PRO tape. I mainly use this tape.
How long do you wait or do you have to heat cure the tank so that gas doesn't damage the paint?
it all depends on the type of clear coat. And from the ambient temperature. it needs to be completely dry ( may take several days). You can use it the next day if you paint in the summer for example
What primer are you using on plastic materials?
Two-component acrylic primer
Did you clear after the gold coats ?
No, I used clear once, as a protective layer at the end.
What color base coat did you use? What’s the name of that gold? Is that metallic, or flake or etc?
Hey! it's metallic and I'm surprised that it looks so good. Bought it from a local store, I just asked for the cheapest gold paint
What clear coat did you use?
Jeta pro
high gloss 5517
What gold did you end up using on this one?
Man, I just went to the local shop and asked for the cheapest gold paint, I don't even remember the name of that paint
Is that acrylic enamel paint you are using or water based? Great looking job.
Thanks a lot! It is not acrylic paint and not water based. This is regular auto paint
It's nitro paint, we call it like that here
Back in the 70's we had an auto paint and body shop. I developed an interest in custom painting. I painted a few bikes and some murals. I was using lacquer paint for shooting flakes. I used a #7 Binks spray gun with a #25 nozzle. Would mix the flakes into the clear, put a large steel ball in the cup to keep the flakes mixed. A lot of steps but a lot of satisfaction too. You are one of the best I've ever seen. That's from an old school guy.
@@mikehiers2671 oh buddy this is really interesting and I really appreciate your feedback. I'm glad to hear that from you. Painting is fun, yeah, and I love it. Your advice on the steel ball is so good, I didn't know about it before
@@Z11KUSTOM The steel ball would only work on one of the old type suction tube guns with the cup on the bottom. I switched over to the gravity feed guns when they came out and the are a much better gun than the old type. Using the Nitro paint do you build up multiple coats, sand it and buff it out or it that glassy without the buff?
what color is the base coat?
I used a white primer and gold paint. This is a regular car paint, inexpensive
what kind of paint are you using
In this video, I used inexpensive, simple car paints
Which kind of tape you are using?
Hi! I use JETA PRO tape
