I have a question. I have a simliar model (TCL 40DS50*) which I want to upgrade to android version which support a Screen Mirroring. I do not know if its possible but if it is, I would love if you can help me with that by telling me how to do that.
You can add a streaming box to use android otherwise not possible, However you can cast mobile display in this model, I have a video on how to cast mobile display on tcl Tv, Watch that

There is not much reviews on the tv but Android box will work properly with it

No bro don't do such mistakes if your tv running fine then no worry if you update via USB or anything 100% motherboard will go dead this tv do not has much well built software updates dont do that mistakes

I have also similar model now it is been 6years now the display backlit has gone previously 2years back also i had a motherboard issue and the motherboard get replaced and cost about 5500 and this tv os sucks there is no useful apps and very limited apps because of its Linux os and any problem occurs then there is no much reviews on it now we are decided to buy new one. but the tv is built very tough it has metal built the display backlight has been gone but if we decrease brightness of the backlight 70 percent it will work fine. But very bad experience interms of software and motherboard.

I think your Tv has Linux firmware and you can’t install android on it
