I'm fairly sure Esther is meant to be the grandmother who gives Ruby the bunny, if I'm remembering the other game correctly? Since this game takes place in the 1950s, and the last one is clearly meant to be more modern.

I used to work as a Supervisor at a treatment center for adopted youths and the stories these kids had about staying in foster care are so sad and horrifying. Makes games like this and shows like PN seem not so bad! Thanks for the great video as always, John!

I love it when developers take this path. Their first game being free and having good quality gets people interested, then they can make money off their second game while improving their work. I enjoyed the look of the first Mr. Hopp game from when you played it, and it's nice to see that the dev is keeping at it.

I absolutely loved the resolution it tried to put it in to be honest, its not fullscreen but it looked really nice. Looks to scale with how I expected everything to look.

I need to rewatch the first game I think, I don't remember much about it other than thinking "killer stuffed bunny gets Big and hunts child" was a pretty good creepy scenario. iirc the parents didn't really figure into the plot much (except maybe at the end, if I'm remembering it right), so I do like that this one has the protagonist interacting more with other characters and setting up for a creepy "orphanage slowly going empty" deal (again, assuming I remember the first one right and the protagonist there DIDN'T have more to do during the daytime). (Also, the game interrupting John trying to wrap up at 37:10 on and his expressions are just so good.)
