Great breakdown. As a lifelong utah fan, I believe he will go down as one of the most beloved QBs in school history. His teammates love him, and I think I can speak for all other utah fans when I say we love him even more. The guy is absolutely a baller and a stand-up guy on and off the field. I really hope he has one hell of a season this year and gets drafted. He deserves it
Met cam at his football camp honestly a super super nice guy he made sure to get there early to say thank you to everyone helping out and representing his camp and when he was over with the camp stayed and talked to everyone that was still there and make sure he could help everyone clean up great leader hopefully he can do good this 2024 season and get drafted
In 2020 he was not beat out. He got the starting job. Got injured against USC. Jake Bentley then started the rest of the year. 2021 he got beat out by Charlie Brewer. But started week 4, when Brewer couldn't move the team
It’s also the tribe that gave the state its name. There is a very close a relationship between the Ute tribal leaders and the university of Utah - every year the Utes dedicate a home game as Ute Pride game, usually with some pretty cool helmets or unis.
Isn't it amazing that everyone knows what a Seminole is, but not a Ute? That's what's so great about the relationship between the U of U and the Ute tribe. Some people actually DO know what a Ute is now!!!
The Utes are going to be so dangerous this year. They're on a different level than all the Big12 teams. I don't even think they're going to be challenged.
He is actually better than you rated him, and it was abundantly clear that you think he is excellent! He is every bit of that. He is such a “Baller” that Utah might go undefeated with the Roster the Utes have in place, and Rising needs to be at least 90% as good as he was before the injury… You even nailed his propensity to throw into tight windows rather than the easy pitch & catch “check down” route. God knows what his completion % would be if he could correct that? It’s already around 66%. Great analysis!!
Great analysis! One correction, his knee injury was due to contact with several Penn State defenders on the same play. It was an awkward play and he was trying to get extra yardage. I think he was injured a little prior to that Rose Bowl game, but the knee got blown up by a clean contact tackle.
He actually was named the starter in 2020. In the first quarter of Utah’s game against USC in week 8, he injured his shoulder and was out for the rest of the year.
@@matthewroderick8619 I don't think it was week 8. 2020 they only played 5 games. It was Utah's first game of the season and USC's third game of the season. Might have been week 6.
Utes are a Native American tribe in Utah. Will be an interesting year because Utah does not have a standout RB, but they do have the most talent and depth at WR and TE we will ever see. Utah is used to leading with the run game to set up the pass game. This year Utah will be pass heavy and Cam will be piling up the pass yards.
I hope Cam took the time during his injury to improve his decision making and his arm. We know his legs will be slower. So hopefully he used the opportunity to improve his arm and decision making.

He should end up being #2 on the all-time Utah QB touchdown passes list by the end of this season. (He's currently sitting at #4 IIRC.)
