I LOVE THIS! Finally a Valentino couture show that looks Italian. No crystals, no princess brides. Pierpaolo is doing great with Valentino alone. BRAVO!!
Loving the dusters. I'm taking them all the way to next Spring. So magical and breezy made with beautiful fabrics. Very modern young princess vibe. Wonderful, classic, and artistic. Well done.
So fresh, modern and classy, love the way he's working alone, full of freedom and respecting the values of Valentino. What a beautiful and complete collection.
"#Valentino Mods" is what I'm dubbing Pier Paolo Piccioli's new collection for Valentino, it was a masterful degree transcription of the contemporary modernist of the 60's (The Mods) and the great Italian renaissance mainly the Medici era. With this incredibly colorful collection of ambiguity Pier has truly mark this collection as that one that sets him apart from his duo days alongside Maria Grazia. He's brought the house a new aesthetic with this one it's almost as if someone else designed this leaving remnants of the past. Truly a show to see BRAVO PIER!!!!
I think you hit the nail on the head and that is what I saw too.. Mod 60s meets Italian Renaissance and Baroque. The color scheme is slightly 70s to me though. I love the voluminous burgundy gown, the most baroque piece Ive seen in a while. Right off the canvases of Peter Lely, Nell Gwyn would wear that... As far as couture though...I dont really see it working out for them. THe people who buy Valentino, wont want this... Do you see Sheikha Mozah or Princess Madeleine of Sweden wearing this stuff?
love it is clean, inspiring, and you don't have to show off figure to look feminine. It is the mystery that adds sensuality to these designs. tight or fitted dresses are over rated; we see them everywhere.
this is really haute couture wow! seems like the dresses come form a mind were freedom and ethereal beauty are the rule. very good made and elegant haute couture is how you build a silhouette, a style and made natural and so modern without being too ugly and "trend" he's super talented and original.
I want to answer you in a pragmatic way: it is the autumn / winter collection .... Maybe you walk bare in the middle eastern desert? More seriously, I think it is an artistic choice of the house, I find for example that Emily Ratajkowskihas much more class and elegance in a Valentino dress than as we are more used to see her in a thong ...
Agreed... the only person I noticed in the video was likely middle eastern, in a yellow embellished gown. Russians are also a huge part of Valentino's couture sales and they also like extravagance and sparkle. This seems geared toward the instagram crowd. If it were in a more simple location and had a house remix instead of this baroque music, I would assume its RedValentino... its dull and boring and seems to just be trying to create a new 'buzz' with colorblocking. We don't need couture to show us colorblocking. This is a huge departure from the past few seasons where they did that whole ermine inspired look...so much so that I assumed that was becoming part of the Valentino look. Also, all the rich colors and renaissance and baroque vibes suddenly gone? Makes zero sense.
is this veronique braquinho collection??? or Dries Van Noten RTW collection??? well i thought pierepaolo will gonna upgrade valentino from its medieval fairy tale but I was wrong he took it on a far direction were in look like a collection done by most belgian designers who graduate in academy of antwerp nothing wrong or ugly about it I love those antwerp desginers but this is valentino its a polar opposite of what the brand is establish by valentino garavani itself. ive been following his collection from the 90s to the late 2000 until his retirement season to season and one thing I notice about valentino is either RTW or haute couture he always open or start the show with a nice lunch suits and day wear that fits for a queen or any royalty, he values feminine shape and silhouette in short he really has respect for the womans figure there is regalness in his collection clothes that when you wear them you feel like a royal family who is empowered, but also there is sex, Valentino woman were sexy aside from the classy and elegant sophisticated style Mr Valentino portrays in every of his show, woman were sexy as well she owns her sexuality not in a vulgar manner but in much modest ways it shows how he can match his clothes with the hair and make up not to mention the shoes and accessories he pair them in every pieces of his clothes. compare to this collection or any of pierrepaolos collection woman look awkward, street ish, stressed mentally and physically, and dorky opposite to what valentino woman were in mr valentinos hands
Agreed 100 percent. I loved the medieval fairy tale stuff...it was dramatic and beautiful and made sense. The ermine looks stuck around for a few seasons and so did the 16th century Flemish vibes with the ruffled collars, etc. This makes no sense to me. Like you said Dries Van Noten Ready to wear, I was thinking subpar REDValentino! This stuff looks like its made for teenagers and 20 somethings and the fashion blogger street style crowd. NOT COUTURE. The sad part is,t hese pieces will still be priced the same as if they had hand embroidery and intricate details but they are just plain dusty pastels. I can blink and squint and almost see that they may have been trying to get a 60s or 70s vibe from somewhere but still... makes no sense. Agreed....Valentino works for royalty and aristocracy. Now...not so much. Can you imagine a queen wearing any of this (besides Maxima of the Netherlands lol...). But again, that is your point as well. Its a bit simplistic like Natan etc. I don't see Italian design when I look at these clothes and I certainly don't see Couture... Daphne Guinness, Sheikha Mozah, etc will not be wearing any of this. Neither I think will Ulyanna Sergenko etc. Who is going to spend the money for this?
Boris it's a re-recording of Zbigniew Preisner's "Van Der Budenmayer Concerto en mi mineur" from the movie La double vie de Véronique. The original recording - the soundtrack version - is actually better, if you can believe that!
What a gorgeous collection. It's pathetic that most of the audience are making sure their phones are recording instead of actually watching the clothes as they walk by.
In my opinion, its inspired by the posing gowns of the 17th century. Look up 'Peter Lely portraits' and you will see these types of flowey tent gowns...but in reality, these were like baroque glamour portraits lol...they didnt actually really wear them, they were meant for drama.
Its sad really... McQueen and Dolce Gabbana turn out ready to wear which is literally ten times better than this...if not more and for a fraction of the cost. The people who buy Valentino couture are mostly royalty, aristocracy and more mature wealthy women. These clothes are made for young people who can't afford couture. Movie stars dont buy couture they borrow it for award shows and no stylist is going to spend the money to add this to their archive when it isnt worth it. Doesnt make any sense. Such a huge departure from the past few seasons of Valentino's couture and honestly...not a good one. I miss the use of the ermine looks and richer fabrics and colors already. I guess that whole butterfly theme is gone too. Sad.
THE COLLECTION IS GREAT, LOOKS MORE LIKE RTW THO BUT I DO KNOW IT'S A NEW ERA OF FASHION BUT WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS IS HIS VISION ON IN THE NEW VALENTINO LABEL. HE'S NOT GOING TO DESIGN LIKE THE FOUNDER VALENTINO GARAVANI HIMSELF AND LET'S NOT FORGET VALENTINO GARAVANI APPOINTED HIM AS THE HEAD SINCE MARIA LEFT!! WE CAN ALL AGREE TO DISAGREE BUT THE COLLECT WAS VERY WEARABLE AND IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED MORE DESIGNERS ARE DOING RTW FOR HAUTE COUTURE..IJS
Everyone has been using velvet for the past couple of seasons. If you look at the luxury dept stores, neimans etc online they have entire sections "Velvet" Most of the new shoes are velvet, which always works in the fall and Im not mad at it but I really dont like this collection. I love that shade of green velvet on the silver dress, but the clothes..not so much. Very boring, almost like destined for the cheaper REDValentino line.
Ugly, ugly, ugly! Whatever happened to Haute Couture, Beauty, Elegance and Glamour.???? Give back the reigns to Master Valentino himself! What these new designers are doing is an utter disgrace to the brand!!!!!
They have to..I feel like they should keep Maria at Valentino and piarobablo at dior instead. The both will flourish. Maria is confused in the house of dior. While I see she was the best to represent Valentino when she was working there
The scenery looks kinda basic , the aesthetic looks too contemporary for me i guess , the colors, the shapes were unattractive for me tbh . Although i found some pieces very beautiful , but the majority was not my type . After the 5th minute everything was much better . Some pieces i liked , some i did not
Well that aint gonna happen, my friend Veronica works for the menswear collection but she has to go to all the shows. So asked her if she had spoken Mr. Valentino and if so what he thought Pierpaolo and his new vision for Valentino. She said he never dreamt this would be Valentino, but he is so in love and he actually loves that he can sit back and watch a Valentino show with all the pressure, she said he is so happy, with dir and the designer. So everyone who doesn't like it OH WELL, GET OVER IT.
clouds overnyc I'm pretty sure he likes his new collection and who designs it but at the same time I would rather see him do another collection before he dies and I'm pretty sure that collection with top all the other collections
I doubt Valentino would really say anything like that and honestly the nerve to even ask him that question is a little ridiculous. If he isn't careful, he will end up like the Borghese's and have a hard time doing anything with his own name without getting sued so I assume if he did say that, thats why he said it. He is a perfectionist and THIS certainly isn't what he would want to see. That being said, I do see some elements of him even in this. This vaguely reminds me of the 70s. Also, honestly, I'm not so sure he would enjoy some of the things I actually like... the the past few years of almost thematic shows that seem to be trying to rip off McQueen. Those very renaissance and baroque designs...etc. This show just seems contrived,a way to make a new look, colorblocking again and all that but do we need to look to couture to colorblock? Most of this stuff looks like it belongs in ValentinoRed.
Caligula Longhbottom everyone has a hard time looking at the old Valentino and looking at the new Valentino brain Valentino red or so much different than the original Valentino that I agree with you we are so stuck on the overpass of the people who created these big fashion houses but did he come these new designer switching and taking things that they don't need to be put in with these clothes like I said I know of their brought him back just to guidance them it will be a whole new era and a whole new look
it was indeed a beautiful show. but so disappointing. in the words of nan kempner, valentino made a woman feel like a woman. he loved a woman's body as well as her elegance and style. and it transcended through his designs. the clothes were volumptuous and it accentuated a womans figure without being kardashian-esque. compared to the legacy of the brand, it was a slight disappointment
For some reason, this collection just doesn't give me a vibe of expensive. What good is it when something haute couture comes across as nothing special?
I'm sorry but this is not the Valentino that I'm use to seeing. where he celebrated a woman's body and accentuated her figure these designer do just the opposite of hiding a woman's body with volumous shapeless drab garment. Bring back my brightly colored body conscious elegant creations and leave the kaftans alone.
I stand behind my opinions for this collection. These garments resembles first year design students projects. High school home ec projects nothing that resembles haute couture. Where's the craftmanship in creating emblelishments? This collection is a fail for Haute couture let alone Valentino.
There is a bit of Renaissance and baroque in this. The renaissance for me seems to be that green velvet almsot empire waisted silver voluminous dress... I see Italian renaissance there. I also see baroque in those other flowy gowns, like the oxblood/marsala or whatever color that was... I actually really liked the burgundy (lets just call it that!) dress with the volume and V neck. Wish there were a few of those shown in diff colors like mustard and slate... since for me those remind me of Peter Lely's portraits, the infamous 17th century posing gowns that people didnt really wear lol...confume costuming historians for years. Still, this doesn't seem haute couture and doesn't seem like it will attract Valentino's current customers...like the middle eastern royals, Swedish royal family, aristocracy etc...they wont wear any of this. It seems more fitted for street style people to wear to fashion shows than anything people would wear who normally wears Valentino.
I'm not a hater, but let's be honest: What is really inovative and deserving of princing above 20 thousand dollars? I count in my fingers the pieces of clothes beyond beautiful that are really forward-thinikg.
should be in REDValentino... its sad when non couture designers like Dolce Gabbana and McQueen make thngs that seem couture when haute couture isnt turning it out...
I have to admit, at first I was kinda like "WTF.... this collection is awful". Then I got it! Futuristic, modern , contemporary, avant-garde fabulous but haute Couture?!? I don't know!🤔🤔🤔
For me too, last winter was amazing. The 17th century baroque vibe, the ruffled collars, ermine, etc. This seems like a contrived attempt to make colorblocking a thing again...which could have been done in ready to wear. Valentino generally has some of the better couture concepts these days that are stll wearable but this is too wearable and instagram crowd esque. Couture will likely sadly also fall to the instagram crowd it seems. This still has some element of the 17th century to me...but merely those voluminous parachute like dresses... The other aspects from my first impression reminds me of 18th century Ottoman empire... the sleeveless coats, etc. The worst part though is the colorscheme. Its a dusty pastel mess. That hint of green velvet should have been used a lot more, more beading and embroidery...less simple shit. Nobody wants simplicity in couture, we could get ValentinoRed for Christ's sake.
Oh my... Another fascinating collection from Valentino. Those cuts are impeccable. Incredibly elegant!
this is one of the best fall winter haute couture of this year!
Bravissimo!! Absolutely fabulous.
I LOVE THIS! Finally a Valentino couture show that looks Italian. No crystals, no princess brides. Pierpaolo is doing great with Valentino alone. BRAVO!!
this collection is so modest! i love it
Loving the dusters. I'm taking them all the way to next Spring. So magical and breezy made with beautiful fabrics. Very modern young princess vibe. Wonderful, classic, and artistic. Well done.
absolutely loving the silhouettes... So ethereal and divine.
amazing... beautiful mastery of fabric - with just the right restrain
the last parts are really good
Pure Valentino, I love it! 😍😍😍😍
valentino is stepping it up! so simply and gracefully elegant. hats off to pierpaolo piccioli :)))
i am SHOOK. stunning
So fresh, modern and classy, love the way he's working alone, full of freedom and respecting the values of Valentino. What a beautiful and complete collection.
Valentino is so missed!!!!!!
wow. bravo pierpaolo
Is this valentino?
The best collection of Valentino saw everything this astounding materials charm, even Lagerfeld not to be compared
Exquisite, inspired, beautiful, poetic, just the best house on the planet at the moment
That was haute couture?
Me encantan los perfiles en esta nueva era de Valentino.
"#Valentino Mods" is what I'm dubbing Pier Paolo Piccioli's new collection for Valentino, it was a masterful degree transcription of the contemporary modernist of the 60's (The Mods) and the great Italian renaissance mainly the Medici era. I love to see all Valentino's Fashion, I
BRAVO!!!!!!!
The song around 6:50 sounds like Bjork - Lionsong, is it?
i love the the little purses
they represent the seven deadly sins
thank you for Preisner's music
The shape of the dress at 2:40 is really beautiful
love it is clean, inspiring, and you don't have to show off figure to look feminine. It is the mystery that adds sensuality to these designs. tight or fitted dresses are over rated; we see them everywhere.

I need second soundtrack name! its beautyfull! Do you know the title?
LIVING ... GIVE ME LIFE VALENTINO
Valentino, your smile is be-yutiful.
I bet the Muslim market is a big part of their sales
Valentino is solely owned by a Qatari royal through a purchase in 2012.
I want to answer you in a pragmatic way: it is the autumn / winter collection .... Maybe you walk bare in the middle eastern desert?
More seriously, I think it is an artistic choice of the house, I find for example that Emily Ratajkowskihas much more class and elegance in a Valentino dress than as we are more used to see her in a thong ...
most couture is purchased by women in the middle east. evidently, their business helped keep some houses in business during that last recession.
not sure what the intention of that comment was (though, i'm pretty sure) but i can tell you, middle eastern costumers LOOOOOOOVE sparkle
Agreed... the only person I noticed in the video was likely middle eastern, in a yellow embellished gown. the only thing I enjoyed here was the music... what a trip !!

It is all about those animal head purses. Love those.
Beautiful

YES YES YES take notes Maria Grazia.
Julia L' Ange you know you could write that in your own comment not on mines
I loved
What a gorgeous collection. It's pathetic that most of the audience are making sure their phones are recording instead of actually watching the clothes as they walk by.
As the song is called from 00hs to 5:16 please!!
Here's a novel idea .. lets make women beautiful ...
Yes Valentino
I love the lacy work in some of the dresses but that last gown was a red tent with a deep neckline. It was an odd mix of pretty and WTF.
In my opinion, its inspired by the posing gowns of the 17th century. Look up 'Peter Lely portraits' and you will see these types of flowey tent gowns...but in reality, these were like baroque glamour portraits lol...they didnt actually really wear them, they were meant for drama.

No Julia Nobis?!? Has she retired from modelling?
keivefy Yes, she's now studying to become a nurse!

Velvet fabrics are sold out at stores in Paris, now I know why. #Valentino
Actually, probably Dior.

Ridiculous, why are u guys changed the music ? The parade was perfect with the song Björk !!!!!
I remember one year Christian Dior also chose here as their runway venue. xD 2012? With Karlie Kloss and Wen Liu
manefique
Great seeing more practical designs, but many of them are ugly wth!?!
The models look like they're in shock! Like they've lost everything dear to them, and have only the luxurious clothes on their backs.
Pierpaolo is very good, but with the duo VALENTINO had more "magic".
No innovation...Ready to Wear Part Deux.
I don't understand the Haute Couture now. Most of the numbers here are simple ready to wear like Cos or Zara.
this is not a haute couture...this is chloe!
11:10 model's name pleeease
Faretta
hm... I am not sure if I like this or not..THese clothes seems more like art than clothes for women like valentino used to create....
From a regular guy perspective .. Nice
i think the illustrious partnership has suffered a bit from the exit of madame chiuri to dior :( - twitter
This feels more ready to wear....
Ugly, ugly, ugly! Whatever happened to Haute Couture, Beauty, Elegance and Glamour.???? Give back the reigns to Master Valentino himself! What these new designers are doing is an utter disgrace to the brand!!!!!
I thought without Maria, Valentino could step up further, but oh, look all the guests' expressions. Like wtf is going on??
Maybe you didn't like it but when he came out the audience loved!!
they always clap at the end of shows, no matter what.
They have to..I feel like they should keep Maria at Valentino and piarobablo at dior instead. The both will flourish. Maria is confused in the house of dior. While I see she was the best to represent Valentino when she was working there
Haute Couture? More like Ready-to-Wear.
The scenery looks kinda basic , the aesthetic looks too contemporary for me i guess , the colors, the shapes were unattractive for me tbh . Although i found some pieces very beautiful , but the majority was not my type . After the 5th minute everything was much better . Some pieces i liked , some i did not
Love it, watching this makes me so happy. Valentino has grown up so much!
vc espera um pouco mais de um desfile de alta-costura do que capas capas e capas.
Such a shame how the glamour and high fashion has been taken from the Real House of Valentino, this is not Haute Couture at all! Boring
Maybe i'm stupid, but i dont see any couture of these collection. its like you can find that many thing like this in retail fashion like zara or h&m
I want Valentino To take Bak His House
stefanos2691 Dont get me wrong his great and I would like the founder to do one last collection be he passes away

I miss Valentino. He was a master of design. This stuff...disappointing.
The clothes looked based on church vestments.

This is not even close to Valentino's Aesthetic ,sad
I know nothing about fashion but one can judge whether it looks pleasant or not on the surface and honestly this is a huge let down

you said it right i thought this is veronique braquinho's or dries van notens RTW collection
I agree 100%. It's not about sexy when accentuating womens bodies. It's about "naturalism". This show was so sad.

The only good thing about this show is Faretta! I'm fucking loving this girl!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Other designers take note. This is how to do it.
Well at least they could be put together by cheap, unskilled sweat shop labour.
Thank god they didn't use that song. Whoever composed that spawned from Satan himself

Best comment so far!
i have found that most of these videos don't use the original music from the show itself, which I find is a shame.
wow, what a disappointment. For couture, I expected a lot more, glamour, glitz, sophistication!
this is not glamurous!
What's wrong with being gay?
nothing
stefanos2691 Your failed attempt to cover your homophobia is a laugh-out-loud moment
So, what is your problem with me?
Leonardo Braga Why do think I have a problem with you, not username stefanos2691?
It all looks so big and unfitted, its not beautiful
So boring!
IT'S JUST A RUINED VERSION OF ARMANI!
Valentino is not like it was a dresses for clients well dressed in high society, it looks like hobos
so lack of creativity and disapointing.
