      Shouldn't matter what race the owners or food is. What should matter is the people and how good the food itself is that's kinda sad you only saw race :/

      +FNU LNU To be fair, black food and black business owners are rarely focused on.
      Also "I DON'T SEE COLOR" is bullshit. Everyone sees color.

      ItsSomeDeadGuy You mean like the many many episodes that eater and other channels have done of them right ? Stop trying to make excuses for it. The channel is about food and thats what it should be focused on. If the food is good and the people then who cares what color they are. Also I never said that so stop trying to make things up. Maybe you should try to stop seing color in everything and try to enjoy it, maybe that's your problem

    as a person who grew up in the south, i had no idea this was different from anywhere else (as a matter of fact i feel that most small towns cooked this way in restaurants). and I am in with a meat and three anytime. just wished they served a pint of guiness like pubs in ireland. which really are meat and threes with great ale.

    Silver Sand is gross. when the uncle was running it it was good and now that he is deceased it is just horrible, she need someone else to season it. The macaroni has to much pepper and she is way toooo heavy with the salt.

    A lot of this video talks about how inclusive these restaurants are. Does this imply there are restaurants where certain people aren't welcome? I can't think of a restaurant where this isn't true. Even a high end restaurant will seat whoever has the money. Focus on food.

    • @StukovM1g
      @StukovM1g 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Nathan Lewis This refers to the age of segregation. The fact that black and white clientele were equally welcome was unthinkable decades ago.

    • @ErinEllaNathan

      There was a single mention that these types of restaurants *may* have been the first to embrace desegregation, but then you'll notice it switches to present tense. Twice in a row they say that you can see blue collar workers and politicians in the same restaurant. My question is why do they think this is currently unique? I've lived in 5 different states in the south and can't remember going to a restaurant and thinking "there's a lot of blue collar workers here, no politician would be caught dead here".

    • @StukovM1g
      @StukovM1g 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I watched it again and I didn't catch that. He did switch to the present tense and it makes no sense that no one would be welcome at any restaurant. Or he may simply be referring to the universality of meat and three?
